Introducing the new Phonak Paradise CROS

In this video, Emma discusses the long-awaited new CROS from Phonak that is compatible with the popular Paradise hearing aids: CROS P.
Although not currently available in Australia yet (as of October 2021), we do know that it should be released before the end of 2021, and comes in a Lithium-ion rechargeable version as well as a size 13 battery version.

Hi Emma. Thanks for the exciting news. For unilaternal hearing loss (UHL) sufferers, can "generally" hear and pick-up conversations fine in quiet to mild noise environments (often hear BETTER without CROS HAs, since no irregular noise disturbing natural hearing in working ear) However really need lots of help in noisy environments. Realize case-by-case, however anecdotally, how effective do you guess these CROS HAs would be for conversations in noisy environments (e.g. restaurants, events, busy road, bus etc.)? And how long do you anticipate the battery last before need to recharge, if wearing CROS HAs for hearing only, but also assuming 3-4 hours in a day processing in such noisy environments? Thanks.

I've been waiting to replace my 6 year old Phonak hearing aid and CROS for a while now. The new Paradise and CROS P seem like great new technology. Would have to go the battery rather than rechargeable as 12.5 hours is NOT enough. 6:00am to 10:00pm is 16 hrs! I also like the technology of the new oticon more and the new CROS PX. Can't find any info for how long the rechargeable battery will last? And if you want batteries you need the CROS rather than the CROS PX. Is there any technology difference between the two?

Meant to add that my current aids last 7-8 days before changing batteries.

@@gregorywannabe Hi Gregory. Yes 12.5 hours is not enough for most people. The new Oticon rechargeable CROS should give you an entire day (up to 24 hours) and the new Signia rechargeable CROS should give you 29 hours. So they may be much better choices for you. Let us know if you need any further advice.

@@ValueHearing Thanks for that info. I'm a bit torn between the Phonak and Oticon. I would definitely go for the one that worked best for me, even though I've been happy with my current Phonak V70 with a CROS II. If that meant batteries rather than rechargeable then so be it. I really like the AI aspect of oticon, and I assume there would also be some slight differences in apps and compatability with iphone/android and maybe bluetooth as well. I can't really see upgrading until next year when both brands will actually have their new CROS devices available in OZ.

Just got the CROS-p, a few comments. 1. When you have them connected to your phone and listening to audio the hearing device doesn’t seem to pick up the sound around you. The signal seems to be disabled. So you can’t hear people around you. 2. CROS-p device is not compatible with the Phonak app 3. When connected via Bluetooth the sound isn’t clear. Any recommendations or suggestions?

Dear Emma. Is it true that you cannot use the App to control the hearing aid with the CROS P?

I just purchased the Cros p along with the Audeo P-90 & discovered along with my audiologist that the Cros P is NOT compatible with the app. Needless to say I am a little disappointed & am looking to find out if there are any plans to fix this in the future. I would appreciate any further feedback on this issue.

I just got a CROS-p and also realized that the app doesn’t control the hearing aids. Any update on when we will be able to use the app? Or is there a different app we can use?

If a person wears two aids. Has Menieres to the point hearing loss is severe in left ear but with a aid it does help total hearing but not real clear on its on. When does a person get to the point a Cros aid is better and that ear will no longer be used? How does that work if with a aid in other ear that is not perfect either?
