Just bought the 6. It has a tighter sound but I guess it's all about personal preference. Both are awesome in their own ways.

better bass than the 7??

The impact of the bass of 6 is much noticeable with good balance in treble compare to 7..i hope the sounds of 6 had put into 7..i choose 6

I have listened to both smart speakers and with my carefully analysis I will give it to the 6 version

Nice video man, but placing them on a soft sound absorbing couch is not the best way to test. That couch could absorb a lot of bass and fine detail. A hard table or the floor would be ideal.

I like more the design of the 6, in my opinion it looks more harmonious, but the sound of the 7 is much better, it sounds with more clear and well balanced mediums and without a so pronounced bass. I think for the type of music that I like to listen, the 7 would be the best choice for me. Thanks for posting this comparison!

Right now the 6 sounds better, sounds more bass, sounds more clear to me.

I see that onyx 6 sounds much better than 7 and I prefer the design of the 6. It looks better for me and more minimalistic. And of course water resistant.. Thanks for the comparison!

Its so hard to understand without really listening in real life as some say onyx6 is superb king, some love jbl, some are sponsored, some not... Here sound stage also is how you turn it, yes studio 6 has less tweeters, but both are still mono and if you center tweeter for onyx 6 is will play similar. They should change charging, battery and other features as both speakers are outdated slightly in that aspect

Judging from the specs that have barely changed, should I go for the 7 or the old 4? I prefer a natural sound with slight stereo separation and enjoy heavy metal on medium volumes while also wanting to listen to classical music. Or would you recommend the Citation 200 for my needs?

My 4 is good, but leaving the cable in kills the battery .... I have to replace my battery as if I take the cable out it dies

They've got to be kidding with that bar. Not only does it look bad and make the speaker hard to carry, it also manages to block the sound coming out of the passive subwoofer on top.

why would they make the studio 6 mono? the onyx 3 had 6 speakers.

I prefer the 7 due to the sound stage and dpeth of the mids and in my opinion its more balanced due to this against quit a heavy bass presence

Listening via mobile phone therefore can’t tell. Which has smoother and more rounded off highs? Tizzy and tinny sounds hurt my ears. Thanks :)

For my the 5 and 6 is better on bass, i think this is because the speker is more bigger

il like the 2D approche of the 6 better. 7 falls apart too much for my liking + the 6 is easier to bounce off the floor because of the formfactor. + 6 is way more portable, flat for packaging away for a trip. I bought the 6, and will buy a second for stereo setup.

You can splash a small amount of water on the front side because at has the appropriate gaskets for ipx7 but the back is exposed

Onyx Studio has that ambient, non-directed sound. Good for background playing, mood creation, partying etc. To me, the 6 sounded better - in the 7 the mids seem to have receded a bit... and the sound has become more ambient/ less immediate.

Does anyone experienced an annoying buzz from the control button or from the upper area of the speaker when listening to some deep bass songs? I hear it and it's only at 50% volume level. If I increase the volume, the buzz also increases. I would really appreciate if anyone who owns a HK7 would be willing to make a test and tell me the result. On mine the problem appears on the range between 36 and 65Hz. I still have 5 days to return it to the shop. Thank you very much!

No, but you can connect a 5 and 6 together

Why they build onyx 7 even without more bass....onyx 6 is best....
