Love your videos! Can you do this in Easel?

You can use easel as the code sender but no you cannot do this design in easel
sorry if i missed it in the video but did you mention what size ball nose bit you used for the 3d carve?
@PawPawsWorkShop

I am using a 1/8" ball nose.
Hour carve time? Are you able to speed that up and get same results? I think I am too inpatient to get a cnc.
@PawPawsWorkShop

I have not tried to increase the speed yet. The 3d finishing pass is slow because of several reasons. One of the big reasons is the stepover. With and 8 to 10% stepover it takes quite a while to cover the area completely.
Could you have done this on your fox alien 4040?

I just got that as my first cancer router the 4040 xe, so if you have any pics of relief cuts I would love to see them. I am going to do a number of those. I will upgrade to the Dewalt as well when the bracket becomes available again. Have you heard of anyone making the track longer? Thank you for the videos I am learning quite a bit
OK, so tell me - money not withstanding, who do you think makes the best bits and end mills??

That can be a very challenging question. I use a lot of different brands and first it really depends on the type of carving that you are doing. I am moving away from the bits Inventables sells. The just seem to be a little light weight. Although, I still have quite a few and will continue to use them. For the 3d carving I have had much success and like the Amanda bits. I also am using the whiteside bits which are also very good. I also like the 1/4" shank size because they are more stable when carving.
Hi Paw Paw, have you ever ran into a problem where you start a design on the x-carve, but stops carving ten or fifteen minutes into the carve?

No, is you computer going into sleep mode?

@@PawPawsWorkShop I don’t think so. I’ve never had a problem with this computer in the past. I just recent upgraded the operating system. Maybe the upgrade made some changes to sleep mode. I’ll check on it tomorrow.

On the forum a number of people have complained about problems with the latest update. I have not updated mine as of yet. Maybe I will not do the update.

So my computer’s sleep mode is set to never in the settings . So I’m ruling that out . I checked for loose wires, and they are fine. All the motors are working correctly. I think the problem may be the usb cable or port . I will do some more investigating on my day off this week, and get back to you.

What stepover % did you use? There are no signs of toolpath marks whatsoever, so your choice of stepover was perfect
