Paw Paw’s WorkShop

I have a lifelong passion for woodworking. I have been around construction and woodworking since I was five years old when I was on the construction sites with my Dad. I grew up building and remodeling homes, building custom cabinets and furniture. You will see a variety of projects from CNC sign making, wood turning, home repair, quick tips and tricks of the trade, furniture and cabinet making, stained glass along with much much more.

I enjoy making these videos and sharing my passion for woodworking with others.

    I was thinking of making one too for the dozens of chords I have. I'm thinking of adding 2 small blocks, and using the cnc to cut 2 "female outlets" for the plug ends to plug in to. Something to keep the cord secure without having the plug ends flopping around everywhere. Maybe give it a shot and see if it works for you?

    Sir, I have an issue with my z axis just carving up in the air. I was sent this video to calibrate the axis. The z axis was off and I have corrected it. I have also verified it is now moving the correct distance but it's still doing the same thing. I'm using easel and the offline controller. I'm at my wits end trying to fix this. Support is three days between emails. Forums on Facebook have been little help. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • @PawPawsWorkShop
    @PawPawsWorkShop3 күн бұрын

    Hello Mark, The first two big problems are solved. It’s moving in the correct direction and it is moving the correct distance. Next, the offline controller has issues and quite frankly I do not use it any longer. That said, how are you setting the zero position? Are you using the puck or the paper method? Next, if using the puck, do you have the correct thickness of the puck in the machine? Also, is this a new issue that just started or are you new to the CNC and have yet to get it to run correctly? I know this is a lot of questions but hopefully we can get you up and running.

    @@PawPawsWorkShop I have been using the machine since February with relatively few problems until out of the blue it started doing this air carve thing. I use paper method when setting the zero. I don't have a reliable internet connection in my workshop so the offline controller was a godsend. I can possibly move the machine outside in the next day or so to where I have a decent internet connection and try directly from the computer but it all depends on the weather. What do you advise. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

  • @PawPawsWorkShop

    It should. To carve an oval. The bit should plunge straight down into the material. Is something loose? The toolpath should be a straight line.

    I know this is old but very few things need 16th accuracy so most of the time we call out measurements in 8ths and instead of feet we say the inch mark for faster call out. Example would be 78 and 3 which would be six foot six and three eighths.

  • @PawPawsWorkShop
    @PawPawsWorkShop4 күн бұрын

    As long as your crew is aware of how measurements are being called it will work just fine.

    Hello, Mr. but I have a big problem with the rotating roller. Last Thursday I got 2 SCULPFUN. products, and to this day I barely use the rotating roller. Since when using it, the rollers do not rotate as much as the glass that is placed on top. Even the band doesn't tour, and stays in the same place. I removed the belt to leave the engine on its own, but it continued doing the same thing. Is there a solution? Does it have something to do with the A/B Line Cables? I am looking forward to your response.
