On yew I tend to leave the sap wood back with the heartwood belly , 1/3 rd sap to 2/3 rds heart, sapwood is good in tension and heartwood good in compression .

This is wonderful, I would like to learn to do this slowly. But I have two questions = 1. Does the draw knife need to be exceptionally razor sharp, like woodworking chisels for example ? 2. Can I use an electric wheel to shape it very roughly, before the draw knife ? I mean go from axe --> to electric wheel --> to draw knife

1 no but it is very subjective, it depends on the wood and the phase you're at , for chasing a ring some prefer a dull blade so as not to skip and violate the ring that would be your back, this is only relevant if you work with wood that require you to chase the ring , osage, locust, etc.. white wood does not need that , you remove the sapwood and you 're done 2 you can use power tools but where's the fun in that ? totally up to you

Any kind of woodwork normally begins with a drying or seasoning time, _especially_ if the wood has been transported from one region to another. The wood you get from box stores has been dried too, but usually it's done in a kiln (badly). The result from _not_ drying is that as you work or when you finish the wood will warp and twist as the weather changes with the seasons.

So, I came here because I made a bow in the summer and it "bowed" a little bit. I think it is because I brought it to my godmoms house to store and my room gets really hot even though i tried to store it in the closet. Is there any way to "unbow" it? I dont keep the bow strung. However, I was curious if stringing it for a day would correct the "bowing" because it bends slightly the opposite way that it should when it is strung. If that makes any sense whatsoever. Please ask me questions if im not clear. Thanks.

It is a good thing for a bow to bend away from you when it is unstrung. You are very lucky if a bow you made did that on its own. Most bows do the opposite, they take 'set' and don't fire as good as when they were brand new.
