I've been searching for an answer to this question for a while without finding such an easily understandable video. Thank you sir! For putting it in perspective.
Extremely helpful, thanks so much for taking the time to put this video together in so much detail.
Thank you for breaking it down and explaining everything clearly. I'm a beginner and this is the first video that explained the terms. Thank you for backing up and explaining things in a different way too, that helped me to understand. You're the best
That was incredibly comprehensive, clear and authoritative. A great presentation, well done and thank you.
That was the single most helpful arrow video I have ever watched. Thanks a bunch!

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make it for us. Love your website by the way! It's very helpful and informative. Sam
This is probably the best, most helpful vid I've seen. Had no idea.
Only just getting into archery. Nice to find a site with no BS info. Makes my decision process so easy now.
I was an archer for many years and heard all kind of things you had to do that just were not true! It was a sheer joy to hear someone that knows what they are talking about! The bad thing for a new archer is getting his bow tuned to him? He can't shoot to start with which renders him incapable of tuning his bow? It takes time shooting and adapting some sort of style that is repeatable before he can tune his equipment. The good part is you can get in the ball park which will save you some time! I remember when I reached the top of the bell curve! My game literally leaped forward and all because I realised what I needed to do! The main thing is be consistent with your procedure. Every shot! This was a very informative video!
Waw!! This is an 11-minutes Academy! Thank you for an eye-opening master class!
SUPER SUPER EXCELLENT video about traditional archery. Thanks a lot from Taiwan.
This is an awesome video. Thanks for uploading it!
Absolutely the most informative video I have seen on traditional bows. I've been shooting trad for 15 years and your vid taught me several things I didn't know.
I get my bow Friday, and this is the first arrow specific video I have watched. I think I lucked out and may have landed on the best one on youtube right off the bat. Great video, man. Thank you.
A great presentation, definitely means I need to know more.
Among videos about archery I found this is among best ones - simple and highly educative. Few says anything about arrows choice (but not support with facts, like this). Thank you sir!
The most knowledgeable group of accurate information I have seen on U Tube regarding arrow selection, thanks for telling me the what; when, were, how and why many people leave out the important facts. Thanks for your information.
Thank you very much for the great information, it has very much in choosing my arrows. Keep up the great work.
Old video but more valuable information than I've seen in any other recent arrow videos that seem more geared to selling a product than teaching. Really helps me set up and evaluate my bows too.
Coming from someone who is just getting my trad toes wet, I very much appreciate the clarity of your presentation here. Thank you; this was very helpful.
Sir those bows are all stunning... made me get back into archery and bow craving. I am owning some great bows, however, I love all of those on the table. One great detail is the dark branch spots on the recurve veneers... absolutely rare and stunning! cheers
Wow! Awesome job on the video. Not only was it professional but it was very informative. When I get ready to purchase arrows for my next bow, I'll be heading to your store.

Just great,thanks you.
you sir are a wealth of information. I have been bowhunting for 24yrs and never have I heard so much technical info come from one person. all of your points are important but I really want to know how to spline arrows for a new bow?? I am "gearing it down" this year and picking up a longbow for the first time. its 52#@28 and I am having my northern California friend napp me out some obsidian arrowheads. how do I know how long cut my arrows based on spline? do I use a trial and error method and cut 1/2" off each time until I find good reliable arrow flight? current plans are to keep it simple and use plastic nocks, hot glue the arrowheads in place, and shoot for a 550-600gr finished product.

First off what you are talking about is called Spine not spline. Best to call someone that knows and learn from them , feel free to call Raptor Archery and we will help you out.

@@RaptorArchery I was actually hoping he'd cover the difference between materials used carbon fiber, aluminum or wood arrows. My bow is a 60 in 45 pound draw phantom hunter by mandarin duck. It just came back in stock so I just ordered it and was debating on the best arrows to get for it. Up until now I've just used my girlfriend's Bow which she carved herself. I want my own I don't have that kind of talent I don't really want to wait for her to have the time to make me one. She also makes her own arrows start again she uses natural materials I was debating on the aluminum or carbon-fiber what the hell the difference was
I echo, very informative and well done.
thank you very much!
Prices at a local shop are stupid for some uncomplicated sticks. Yes, they are not just sticks, and I guess they need to turn a profit ; nonetheless, ordered 3 lots and just made my own dozen for half the price of a dozen from the shop and I’m loving them all.
Excellent video. But one thing, I do not use cock feather to indicate feather that will stick out to make less contact with the bow, but I use it in sense that lots of shafts have some degree of grain runoff, more or less, and I like to orient it for safety sake toward the point and up, so in case of cracked arrow, which you not always notice (maybe after hitting something harder), if arrow during release splits/cracks, it flies up and away and not through you hand.
Thank you
nice info.
Good Information Sir
the most meticulous explanation on tube.TU
Thanks for a very informative video. I would like to have and idea of the right added stiffness (spine) for 160 points.
New subscriber, good information, thanks!

saludos ted desde mexico
perfect video. Concise information delivered simply (will have to go over it to soak in all the info though). Question: have you ever heard of using ebony to make and recurve bow or arrow and what would be the result? Thank you again!
Excellent! Hands down. The crap and misinformation "available" on YT... Unbelievable. But you guys are on the money. Thanks RA!
