Intimate Portrait Madeline Kahn 4
Part 4/5
I know a lot of people have been wanting to see this, as have I, so I thought I would share it since I've found other Madeline fans to be really kind and generous with their findings. Make sure you have Kleenex ready because I was sobbing by the end of it. Also, if anyone has the Rosie O'Donnell interview featured in this show please share!

I can not say I knew her, but I can say I feel privileged to have spent a week working on set watching her do what she did so well, a truly talented person and lovely spirit. She left far far to soon. I am grateful to have met her and John.

Wow! Her mother was crazy!
What a toxic, self centered, selfish mother..so glad Madeline bec of her natural amazing diverse talents was , is & always be adored & loved by her fans around the world🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️🥂
Typical Hollywood mother no talent herself so put pressure, doubt, insecurity on the child, maddie was a great beauty, talent and all round human being who certainly didn't deserve to be taken from us so early
Madeline was such a towering talent. Such brilliant work!!

In her mom's defense, she was still a teenager when Madeline was born
lovely observation Lilly makes about their careers coming full circle with little envelopes.
Betsy’s Wedding is one of my FAVORITE films!
Such a great talent!
Miss Khan's mother was what she had always been; a user and a nothing. I know this would hurt Miss Khan but it's true and everybody knew it.
Mom was a real Creep! Sad.
Madeline Kahn Brilliant
it's really irritating that they try frame Madeline as 'not a mother'. Who friggin' cares? Her work speaks for itself. Why does she need to be defined that way?

Some of the greatest women are "not mothers": Carol Kane, Betty White, Gilda Radner, Madeline Kahn, Sarah Silverman, etc. And then you have the opposite side of the coin (mothers like Andrea Yates & Susan Smith). The decision to have kids has zero bearing on a person's legacy in this world.
True Beauty, love to M.
Great stuff, thanks for sharing this!
Wow. Her mother was a total narc. Poor thing :(
a very selfish mother
Ok, her mom was like mine..not a mother just a adult child who made her daughter raise her instead of the other way around plus jealous of her for no reason instead of proud ,and should of actually parented her emotionally like she should of! She must of been such a unhappy sad soul from her mother doing that, that kind of pain underneath this woman honestly..I know that pain and my empathy hurts for her..you never are complete bc of it..I’m furious at that for sure
Her son calls her Paula

So did Madeline. She used to send Madeline birthday cards with bills enclosed. She also sued Madeline a few times demanding more financial support.

@@Anon_E_Muss Yes, you can read Madeline's biography by William Madison. The way the mother treated Madeline all her life is very sad. She outlived Madeline, too, and then lived off of a lifelong trust fund Madeline set up for her when she became terminally ill.
Mama was a jelous woman. Maddi tried to help mama. Everytime.
Her "ex" talks like an attorney reading a script.
Horrible mother she had
Just look at all the non talented people who line up for America's Got Talent! Had Madeline's mother not been aspiring public performer Madeline would have not achieved what she did!
