I have listened to Zao since grade 7/8 or so back in 97-98... They are one of the greatest metal bands out there and every album they pushed things further and further

These guys have been my favorite band since I bought Liberate at my local record store when I was in high school back around 2002.

Yep.... anything since Blood and Fire is the Zao I like and know and the Zao I grew up with sooo.... yea Russ, Dan, and Scott are the OG’s to me

Same here. I grew up listening to and seeing that line up live. No matter how my musical tastes grow and change, they will always hold a special place in my heart, and I always find myself coming back to my favorite songs every now and then

Zao transcended being a Christian band.. then they transcended metal, now they’ve transcended music in its entirety. Now.. think about this. They have way more killer than filler across multiple albums. Amazing production and songwriting. They do this all DIY basically with no budget. They don’t even wear IEMs live!! And they play better than most bands.. And it’s their second job.. amazing dudes. Humble, talented and a big part of my childhood. 5 year winter played in my head as I beat my own record hiking once.. that doesn’t seem like much but was special to me. It gives me goosebumps playing from memory.

You guys are some awesome riff-makers! So proud of your work dudes.

I didn't become a fan of Zao until FoG, and went back later and listened to their older discography. So for me it's always been Dan, Scott, and Russ. In fact, I'm pretty sure the first show of theirs I went to Jeff was on drums. So actually he's been as much a part of what I think of as Zao as any of the other guys. Not sure if Marty was on bass at that point yet.

Recently got into ZAO and became a hardcore fan haha. I'm looking forward to the album coming out next year.

Same. The Greek work they based their name on is even pronounced like Zow. Very surprising.

Fuck guys thank god I’m not alone! I’ve been pronouncing it Zow since like 2005 up until recently, I have been trying to make a conscious shift in saying there name, but I won’t lie I wish it was Zow because that just sounds way sicker!

Nah man he's like 5'4" I think. Everyone else is stupid tall. I'm 5'10 and still towered over him.... So you might be right
