I loved this episode as well. Learning Amand background but Louis saying goodbye to Lestat had me in tears.

How bloody good is the new Claudia actress?? Feel like she gets some of the best lines, boy does she deliver them! love the channel! and hello from England!

She ATE every scene she was in! Love this Claudia. Oh my God the yellow dress! It’s also been a million years since I read those books in the library waiting for my momma to pick me up after school at 13 and “ curious “ ahaha. I love the twists from the original books maintain the tone at its core: and the embodiment of the characters and their flaws in a reverent and respectful, loving way. I haven’t been exited about a series on tv in ages. This is giving me everything . This episode is my favorite because the tension is palpable. We know what’s coming: how are they going tell it?

That's why I came and found this review to simplify it cuz I was a little bit confused on Armand's past. I know how they whitewashed everything in paintings, but I thought it was supposed to be him, wasn't sure until I fully listened to the conversation with subtitles on!

I think Lestat is sending that info to Daniel's computer. At this point in the present time, i dont think Lestat has awoken Akasha yet. But its coming soon.

Given the changes, I'm kinda hoping Claudia lives and the whole thing was some mind job by Armand to get Louis under his control. But there is that one line in the trailer for this season that Raglan James is telling Daniel that Louis is the most dangerous of the two (Armand and Louis). As for Armand's story, I think Armand is editing his history and playing on Louis's emotions to further draw him in (he revealed he knew what they did to Lestat the first night that Louis and Claudia showed up at the theater. He could have even delved further than that into Louis's mind without him knowing) for book Armand was obsessively in love with Marius and Marius allowed his coven of mortal boys to go out and enjoy Venice, to have their pleasures, and never pimped Armand out to others as Armand was his. I think it's just been 80 years of mindf*ckery done by Armand on Louis. Louis got from Lestat what Armand wanted from Lestat and I think Armand striking back at Lestat was by taking Louis. There is no fire between them like there was between Louis and Lestat. And Armand isn't above playing with emotions to get what he wants. Each time they present themselves as a couple to Daniel, it comes off as forced. But, so much is changed, I really no clue how events are going to play out lol

So everytime Armand opens his mouth it’s basically a lie?? He is too much.. I’m really excited to see the dangerous side of Louis.. We’ve seen a few glimpses of Louis going off the rails, but he’s so endearing I have yet to view him as dangerous. I’m so excited to see how the story develops. Thank you for being here!

I get kinda mad at Louis in this episode because he swore to her and himself that he would care for her and that he wouldn't abandon her! I felt for her, but I guess if we're following the original plot ( may or may not be) then we know she is taken by the dressmaker and DESERVES love too! Great, easy to follow review! Subbed!

I'm very curious about this mind wiping of Malloy that Armand is doing. What happened back in '73 when he was originally interviewed? Can't wait to find that out!!!

Love this episode. So much information. I will have to watch it again, but that museum scene where Armand is telling his story and Lestat looking at Louis, like Are you buying what he's selling/telling? And Daniel's mind jumbling and going to flashbacks of Armand manipulating his mind. . . Santiago being a vampire detective, doubting Louis and Claudia's story.

Armand was very abused..and then he watched Marius be attacked, however Armand was wrong and Marius did live. But because of Armand’s trauma he’s by far the scariest monster we have met to date. His beauty blinds other vampires. He is the most manipulative little devil

I loved (!) the books. I watched an interview with Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid where Sam stated that so far, Lestat has only been seen as Lestat through the eyes of other characters. We are yet to see a real version of Lestat. Only memories of him through Louie, Claudia and Armand. I thought that was very interesting. Sam likes the idea of playing slightly different versions of the same character and could not wait to play the real Lestat. I hate when Hollywood buys a book and changes it to fit the director's idea or the actor's personal feelings about certain passages. Enter the atrocity that was the first Interview with a Vampire movie, that piece of garbage with Cruz and Pitt as Louie and Lestat who were very afraid to touch each other much less make out. I was very excited to hear that these books were being remade. However, they did tweak the story and characters a bit but, that being said, I love this version and look forward every week to the next episode. I was also a tinge disappointed that Malloy was so much older but, I love Eric as an actor, and I think this way of telling the story works very well. The difference between the young, eager newbie trying to make a name for himself verses the older, tired, seen, heard, done it all grump who wants the dirt. Even Claudia is older, but I like how this (these) actress has played her very young and very bitter to be stuck looking so young but thinking and feeling older with all the needs and desires that entails. To see her face when finally accepted by the coven as a "family" member, only to be told seconds later that she would be forced to play a child on stage for the next fifty years was priceless. Santiago is an interesting character, and I can't figure out if knows more than we think he does or if he is simply figuring it all out as he goes. Louie can be very disrespectful of the feelings of others while demanding that others care about his feelings. Having not been killed by Armand, not only does he "hang out" with the coven, which he refused to be a member of, but he reads during performances to show even more disrespect. I've never really trusted Armand, even in the books, I thought there was so many things he kept hidden. It appears as if he mind f*cked a young Daniel Malloy for whatever reason. I now wonder if he has mind f*cked Louie also. He is restarting to remember things that he or possibly Armand, has hidden deep in his memory. Am I the only one that thinks it's weird that two ex-lovers of Lestat have fallen for each other? Is this another mind f*ck of Armand to make Louie fall in love with him as some sort of revenge? Referencing Gordon Parks was another thing I loved about Anne's books. She grounded them in reality, and I never failed to learn new things that my ignorant self did not already know. Gordon Parks, for example. Yes, Louie was/is no Gordon Parks. (thanks for showing his photographs) When Louie is telling Daniel that he could "feel" Lestat as if he were there, which shook Armand, I wondered if possibly Lestat, who is still alive in form or another, is reaching out to Louie. Maybe that's what frightens Armand about how real Lestat felt to Louie.

I definitely think Lestat was doing some sort of mind entering to influence Louis. I'm kinda doubting it now based on the episode insiders and starting to think they really meant for this to be more psychological. Victims of abuse often experience having their abuser's voice still inside their head and dictating their lives even after they leave, and becoming more like the abuser that way. I reaaallly hope it ends up being a more tangible, supernatural thing though! we'll have to see..

That portrait of Amedeo/Armand in the museum was beautiful…and more in keeping with his physical appearance in the books. But I do like the fact that people of color are included in the series. Claudia and Louis were right about each other - he will always chose some random dude over her. He likes to be chased and adored and his picker selects the most abusive and controlling partners. And Claudia chose the coven - but her picker is also broken. He is the battered partner who makes excuses for his abuser. And regardless of the number of years she’s been on earth, she is young, impulsive and irrational.

I had not read Queen of the Damned in forever so I went back while I am waiting for these new episodes and started listening to it on audio upload here on youtube and I forgot how much Armand was in that book ..GGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....he is on my sh*t list ........... that Gordon Park inclusion is a nice touch ,can't wait to see that ....good breakdown

Claudia is portrayed as being very strong. if I were that pissed at the role I was forced to play, I would have left the coven long ago. These "friends" add nothing to her life.

Louis very much is the battered/abused spouse, with Lestat and with Armand. Like a lot of women he went from one abuser to another. Lestat was emotionally and physically abusive, but Amrand is emotionally and mentally so. Armand has messed with Louis mind the way he can mess with everyones mind and make them forget shit, I know he has and I haven't even be able to really watch the series outside youtube clips, can't afford AMC streaming right now sadly ugh. I soooooo want to binge this. Poor Louis just needs to get away for a while.

I L🖤VE your perspective! I am SO glad Claudia gave Louis the business by calling him out for always existing in a state of "dickamitization 🍆😍"! And him telling her to sit in HER choices was the equivalent of a child who's just gotten 'called out'by another lil' child for being caught in the wrong, & KNOWING they're dead-wrong but trying to deflect saying "I know you are, but what am I 😤?!" Though Claudia is right about Louis being blinded by 😎👨🏾‍🦯🍆 all the time, she has allowed her "thirst 🥵🏜" --- pun INTENDED --- for community blind her 2 the red 🚩 that were waving in her face like Miss America 🇺🇸 💁🏾‍♀️ 🚘 at a Macy's day Thanksgiving Parade! As MUCH of a par exellance' 👌🏾 job as she did at covering her tracks from Antoinette when she was plotting Lestat's merder, her desire to have a family that will accept her & put her 1st has made her sloppy in her restraint over the information she gives to Santiago. Whether willingly or unwittingly. I don't know WHY 🙄 of ALL the things Claudia would just absent-mindly leave around in plain sight 👀/ easy access in her & Louis's apartment, WHY she would leave the journal that she recorded Lestat's last words in with his OWN blood 🩸on top of some random table out in the open 🤦🏾‍♂️?!! If I were her, I would have locked that journal up in a box with a padlock 📘 🗃 🔐 & locked THAT box in another box & hid THAT box underneath a layer of cement UNDERNEATH the floorboards! Claudia gon' learn 💥👏🏾, though! Unfortunately, it will be far too late to do her any good. IF Louis was a REAL "big brother/ father figure," he would be drinking Armand's 🩸every chance he could, then forcing Claudia to drink from HIM so she could be "bulking up 💪🏽" on that ANCIENT blood of Armand's, getting a head start on acquiring & developing the fire gift & telekinesis as soon as possible since Armand would NEVER give her his blood willingly. So that way when the coven turns on her, she'd have somewhat of a fighting chance as I've never seen any of the other members use those gifts, save perhaps Santiago. But all we know he can do for sure is fly. And we know as young as Louis is in this timeline --- not even 150 yet, there's no way he would have developed the " 🧘🏽‍♂️🔥 gift" this early on if it had not been for him consuming "Arjun/ Amadeo/ Armand/ Fake Rashid's 🧑🏾"🩸on a daily. I mean, that's the same way Lestat became as powerful as he is & he's not even yet 200yrs old, which is 200 - 300 years younger than Armand --- by being made my powerful Magnus, & feasting on Armand ---- Who regularly fed on ancient-a$$ Marius --- AND from feeding several times from Akasha --- the very FIRST vampire 🧛🏽‍♀️ & QUEEN of the vampires! But we knew from season 1, that unlike Claudia, (USUALLY does) Louis doesn't think in terms of the "long game," but is only concerned with someone making him "feel good 🍑 💦 🍆 🛏" *in my Halle Berry from Monster's Ball voice,* in the moment. I just hope Lestat fading from Louis' mind at the end of this episode doesn't mean that we won't be getting anymore Lestat for the rest of this season. I am ALL about Lestat, & LIVE 🙌🏾 for every moment he graces the screen! I love Jacob's acting as well, but that being said, I'm must confess that I am still surprised I am as inti this season as I am given it is very Louis-heavy & Lestat "lite." Thank you.everyone talks about how toxic Lestat is. But come on, much less toxic than Claudia. I don't understand how everyone is "poor Claudia". This girl is so evil, mam. I really feel sorry for the original Claudia because she is a child and it's a big tragedy that she will never grow up. But now 14 year old Claudia? At a time when at 14y you were already an adult woman for society? It simply doesn't justify how manipulative and selfish way Claudia always treats Louis.

@@AnnaStavaleF This, even the fans seem to forget shes been a grown woman since they killed Lestat and sympathize with her cause she's trapped in a child's body, but she is not a child. Louis has every right to leave whenever he wants! He can't keep protecting her from her own choices!!! She joined the coven of her own free will, she was tricked into playing a child which once again she chose. How is that Louis fault? is he supposed to fight the coven leader for her when SHE knew what she was getting into????? I'm realllyyyyy starting to dislike her a lot.

her getting upset at Louis for "abandoning her" is a little rich... the only reason her new "family" is even letting her walk alive is because of him. They're really trauma bonded to each other and I think she subconsciously knows she is not safe in the coven without him so seeing him get a life outside of her (something she teased him about earlier) is a literal threat to her life. They need to let each other go, this is the life she chose

It's so frustrating knowing that it's made and airing, but distribution isn't figured out 😭 they have the first season, no idea why they don't seem to know anything about s2 though

I’m starting to believe that Louis never truly loved and cared about Claudia. In a way, he and Lestat used her to keep their relationship together, and that ultimately didn’t work out. Not to mention, the way he treats her is ATROCIOUS. He treats her like an afterthought when it comes to Lestat and Armand. And yet, he has THE ABSOLUTE NERVE to feel some kind of way because she is rightfully growing distant from him and wants to get away from him. In the novel and the film adaptation, Louis wouldn’t have dared to treat and talk to her like he does in the television adaptation. In the film, he would’ve done just about anything for her and chose her over Lestat. Not so in this show, and maybe that is meant to prove a point in this iteration of IWTV.

Can someone please tell me what is said in the recording at the very end of the episode? I watched it on amc+ and there's a glitch because it cuts mid sentence when Armand is mad at Louis saying he was distracted by a boy. So frustrating!

I took it to mean that in 1973 ,Armand,Louis and young Daniel are all it the same room and something was happening when Louis "told" his story and was silenced ,but was it Louis who finished the book or was it Armand ?..... ...somebody has been lying ..how big a lie and how long ? Is the only question I have

It's puce which means flea. It's what they call people who want to join the coven before they've proven themselves.That's why Armand gifts her a flea circus when she goes through initiation to remember how far she's come.

Season 2 is boring. I am sick of them focusing on the past and not only in the present modern day. I hate the little girl's character and she should have been killed off like in the movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
