International Farmall 350 Diesel Tractor - Classic Tractor Fever
Back in 1956 Richard Frank’s Father of Cresco, Iowa bought this International Harvester 350 Diesel new to use on their farm. Father and son worked this tractor pretty hard in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. When Richard went off on his own in the early 1960’s he bought the 350 from his father and used it to farm for many years. Watch as Richard shares his story and the history of his International 350 Diesel Tractor.

I ran a square baler with this tractor when I was 10 years old, couldn't push the clutch and brakes at the same time but on flat hayfields pushing the clutch it stopped quick, I couldn't disengage the PTO at that age but if we had a jam in the baler my Father who was on the wagon towed behind the baler could get to the back of the tractor disengage the PTO and smack me in the back of the head before I could duck. I still duck now when driving a tractor and hear a noise. We graduated to a 3000 Ford selectomatic and replaced the 350 with a 5000 Ford row crop for baling, The 350 lived on the farm after that as a loader for the manure spreader. Was hard to use because it had standard steering and a tip bucket. Still one of my favourite tractors
We had a 350 gas powered with the narrow front end. Great little tractor.
What a Beauty!!!!!
Greatest toolbox. When i run the 450 to the bush to get logs for new house i had plugs dressed in box 1/2 way across 30 below and good wind stop,d and changed in middle of field then went to bush for shelter. It stayed till spring except to open trail.
What a great story and what a beautiful tractor
Bring it here!
That's cool. There is still a 350 gas working on my brother's farm that belonged to my Dad.
I hope it stays in the famly
Nice job guys
Well the old 350D could sit in a museum. Or get outside and stretch its connecting rods. As it breathes fresh air and runs in the open space!
my dad gave me his W6 his W4 and his 450Farmall in his will when he left us, he knew i was only one who would enjoy them, i gave the two W's to his best friend and kept the 450 until 2 years ago when a guy happened upon it and offered me nearly triple of what dad paid for it
This must be an older video, Richard's brother now has bragging rights to the earliest Serial # 350 and it is a Diesel also. Great video! Both tractors were at Red Power Roundup in DesMoines June 2017. Very nice tractors!

How can I get in touch with Richard or his brother about their early 350's? I may have the next in line to there's.
Huge IH guy. I want one.
My grandad had a 300 international in the 50's my dad said it spent more time in the shop under warranty than it did in the field working

Must have been built on a Monday or a Friday. 300s are great tractors.
Are the mudguards modified? I thought the originals went over the tire?
How old is this video? Considering they said it was going to be on a calendar for 2002
Oh hi first comment. Love the videos
Ok...question here...I grew up on a 450 diesel Farmall, and still have it to this day. It starts on gas and when warmed up you switch it over to diesel. How is it that this one starts on diesel ?

See Dean Meyer's comment below. This tractor has the Continental diesel engine that was direct start. The IH engine was gas start then switch to diesel.

It is direct start diesel.
Wondering if anyone knows what serial # is the latest 350D? I have 17177. 17215 was the last 350 in general I believe.
I guess it differs from the MD and the 450D as it does not start on gas. I bet that was fun to start in the winter!!

They had an intake heater. I have a 57 350 Utility Diesel and it starts down into the 30s no problem.
RED POWER THEN. RED POWER NOW!
Was that a direct start diesel or gas to diesel ?

continental diesel engine was direct start. IH was start on gas switch to diesel when the engine warmed up.
How Can I Get A RED POWER Magazines
