Move the lathe carriage to set initial position: center of internal spherical surface of the work must lay on the axis of the revolution joint between the yellow tool post and the green bar.
Turn pink crank to move red tool in circular trajectory.

    Hello, I'm an engineering student from Ecuador and a big fan of your work. I'm basing the final project from my manufacturing processes class in this mechanism of yours and It would help me a lot if you could give me an insight of the applications you thought when designing it. I am talking about what kind of steel is it intended for? What is the maximum sphere radius? Does it need previus internal turning? I do not intend to disturb . Any information you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

    allinero1 I made this animation just for showing working principle of internal spherical turning. So I don’t have the information you need. Material of workpieces: steel is possible, subject to the strength of the whole system. Max sphere radius: subject to size of the used lathe. Previous internal turning: needed.

    You must make it with many passes with different radius.

    When the green tool bar is outside of the work the red tool bit is adjusted for the next pass. A way for adjustment is shown at kzread.info/dash/bejne/nmaamKOjhce0cto.html
