Move the lathe carriage to set initial position: center of internal spherical surface of the work must lay on the axis of the revolution joint between the blue tool post and the green bar.
Turn brown wheel to move red tool in circular trajectory.

How do you determine the rpm of the worm for this to work properly? ie. whats the ideal speed of the worm and the chuck?

Sorry, I don't have the information you need. I have just animated it. The cutting parameters should be determined through experiments.
