@@vanessaculbert6080 in my experience it's losing 200g (grams) per day and I think that's ok if one is older with slower metabolism. Two spoonfuls of natural ACV in a glas of water helps digestion too. Also, be careful not to eat all the time during those 8 hours! In my experience it works if I have one small meal after those 16 hours of fasting and for 7 absolutely nothing until the main evening meal.

To All Young Women: I’m 60 and I urge you to get out of the overweight and obese categories now, for your lifelong health, if nothing else. Do it by healthy eating and exercise and make these lifelong habits. I’m not fat-shaming anyone, but I wish I had focused on maintaining my naturally slim weight when I was young. Every decade, it gets 10 times harder. Weigh once a week, take your measurements every three months, and record the data and dates in a notebook. If you gain more than one pound in a week, just cut the extras the next week. It’s so much easier to maintain than to lose a lot of extra fat. You will be healthier, happier, and do better in life, it’s not fair, but it’s true, being obese cuts your options enormously.

I truly agree, especially snacks which can easily be 100 to 300 calories a snack. Imagine eating 2 snacks a day?? That could be 600 extra calories that you are intaking without realizing it. So I stopped snacking & I am down 1 meal a day.

This comment has given me hope as I was about to give up, there's a lot of "advice" on the internet and it can really screw with you. I am fasting 23 hours a day and have been doing so well,I'm happy, not hungry and the only time I had a headache was when I began and a week ago when I ate my one meal at 13:30 instead of the usual 17 - 18 so the next day trying to get back to my usual routine was hard and I had another headache. This is where my problem comes... I don't want to eat keto and fast 23 hours a day because I wouldn't maintain it and I find keto too restrictive at such a small window. I don't want to eat french fries but I want to eat pasta, rice which most of the time is brown but when out I'll eat white...I want to eat a white potato instead of the sweet potato at times. I just want to not be keto restricted during my ONLY hour window for crying out loud yet every expect seems to be pushing keto diet. I know the kind of person I am and as soon as I feel those restrictions I will give up. I just want reassuring that not eat for 23 hours and not having to worry about keto is enough...so after finding her 👆🏾... that beautiful lady,I'm reinvigorated to keep going and not focus on keto as if I wanted to be on keto then I sure wouldn't have chosen to fast 23 hours a day...talk about double "punishment"....no ma'am, not for me, if I wanted keto then I would have just concentrated on that solely but no...I'm fine with my one meal a day.

I’m 25. I started IF two years ago and never looked back. Once it became a habit the benefits made it impossible to stop. The 28 pounds I lost practically fell off! It was so easy. Some of the benefits I experienced were mental clarity, energy increase, better sleep, better skin, and overall happier because of how good I felt. I love never worrying about my weight or looking big in clothes. Those problems dissolved on their own after a couple months of doing IF. Now it is a lifestyle and I’m thriving. 😊

Most days I have something to eat between 9 am and noon, like toast. I only drink water and I have eliminated all white sugar. This is different from what I used to do, as I ate after dinner all of the time! I ate chips a lot. Now, I am motivated by my Faith and my Lord. I fast for Him. I have lost almost 15 pounds since Ash Wednesday. I am very surprised that I am not really hungry. Waiting to eat until you are very hungry is HUGE. No more eating just because the clock says it''s time. And do it for God and He will reward you.

I am 160 lbs. and did not see any loss until week two doing IF. I assumed it wouldn't work for me because of all the YT posts about others losing 10+ lbs. during the first two weeks on IF. I have only lost 12 pounds with at least 40 to go, but I have lost 3 medications for Diabetes. I am now comfortable enough to go on walks without being afraid of low blood sugar. So drink a lot of water and take vitamins and especially minerals no matter how you fast. It changes with age so keep your weight in check when yoûre young to avoid all of this. My only snacks are occasional pork rinds with cheese, salsa and or sourcreme or sugar free jello) I eat meat, eggs, avocado and veggies (mostly broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce and zucchini) I eat 1 to 2 meals a day in a 6-8 hr range. Nothing before or after except water, tea, coffee or broth. Since March 1st. Today I am 24lbs down! Never hungry.. it just gets easier every day. Stick to it! It will work. My hypothyroidism is almost at normal levels and I had severe vitamin D deficiency which I take a high dose RX once a week. I was at my highest weight ever, well over 225 lbs. I had 5 sons and was always thin. (120 lbs) after age 40 I kept gaining year after year. This time next year I know I will be under 150😁 Just remember, it takes time and patience but soon you will see results! Trust me, I almost gave up until I started researching IF. GOOD LUCK!

@the Daily Connoisseur, @v nickcolvin, @Josee Gendron --Can I say, I happened onto this video & got drawn in, as I also have been losing weight during this Pandemic. I've a smidge more to go, but I'm down 47lbs! *Pls note, I had always been in-shape, athletic, an avid skier (*PT/Wkend instructor), rock climber, tennis, volleyball etc., etc. an injury w/ over a yr recovery including surgery, PT & 6months on crutches = the beginning of 0 exercise & pound expansion. FOR ME what's been working is (all on my own) tracking everything I eat (& drink)... I mean EVERYTHING including WATER to know I'm getting enough. I eat whatever food I want, no 'diet' food! I'm not on ANY (food) program e.g. WW, NS or JC etc., but, I AM counting calories with the help of an app (using just the free version,) rather the app is doing the counting, I just track my food & I bought a little/portable no frills spring loaded food scale (not wanting the excuse of batteries being dead, or not being able to toss a 'glass top' scale into a bag for travel. *I did actually start right B4 the Pandemic hit. & I too found it surprisingly easy, more than expected.) I eat regular pasta, potatoes, pizza, fried chicken, candy -chocolate, cookies, wine, GOOD bread, (CHRISTMAS was tough, but I didn't gain!) Even if I go OVER my daily calorie budget I still track, to know WHAT I'm eating. I have even had McDonalds, BUT when I do it's a Regular Hamburger (or Reg. Cheeseburger) Small Fries & sometimes even a non diet Coke (usually IceTea)!! Yes, ...but not very often, & now smaller burgers/fries are filling me up. I can see my appetite has really changed & so I believe I too have 'reset' my appetite & I've not used the food scale in months. FOR ME, tracking my food/counting calories HAS taught me WHAT an appropriate portion is --for me! I do GREEN smoothies to get more veggies in, especially on a day that I know I'll be having pizza, etc. So I do balance things out, eat more in moderation, & I found it KEY to plan my meals the EVE before, not necessarily make it, but PLAN /Track it so I CAN budget a (rare) Fried Chicken dinner. I know what I can eat & how much, it helps me stick to my calorie budget. IF, especially in the beginning, I need more of a Satisfying 'Snack' I have Popcorn (not air), stove top with 1Tbs of OIL & eat 1/2 the pot of popcorn 1 day & save the other half for the next day. It's filling, hi fiber & I LOVE Popcorn so it's very satisfying. Some say I do 'intermitting fasting' as I don't eat breakfast (so yes, 16/8 as well)--BUT know that I NEVER did eat breakfast, not since before HS. I was NEVER hungry enough in the AM. In college when I attempted to eat breakfast I GAINED & honestly I don't like most breakfast foods, I like Bacon, I like Bagels so, even while skiing, I'd maybe grab a bagel or a BAR, protein drink, Banana, Apple or something similar & go burn 1000+cals. But in general I never ate breakfast, & now, still not hungry in the AM, I'd rather have the calories later in the day. *THIS has worked for me, & I'm grateful for these tools, having given me an education on portion size/moderation. *It can be done, even for us women, at any age! Also slow & steady certainly wins this race! To our health!!

What ?? I have no idea what she's talking about - her French family eating dinner at 5 PM ! I've lived in France for 28 years and dinner at 5 PM is impossible !! It's true they do not eat between meals and that has a lot to do with their weight consistency & metabolism. They follow VERY regular mealtimes. Lunch is at 12 noon and dinner is at 8 PM or 8:30 PM !!

Just found your channel today. So love your style and meals😌 I’ve been fasting for the past several years, it was for spiritual reasons but now know it has many health benefits and blessings😌 I now do intermittent fasting with eating God’s word First. I now say and teach my children, “Man shall not live by bread alone…” AND, we eat to Live and not live to Eat”. Shalom

This is so interesting. I also tried this before my daughter’s wedding and couldn’t believe the results. I also stuck with it for about a year and was at my lowest weight for years. Imagine your foresight with your 10 item wardrobe. If your wardrobe consisted of all tight jeans you would have needed a whole new wardrobe. Congratulations. I’m glad you feel so great.

I was always ate healthy, except about 15 years ago I was hooked for a month on eating lots of cakes! I never drink sodas, hardly have alcohol . I will give it a go and hope for the same great results I have been hearing about!

I fast intermittently also, eating between the hours of 9:30-5:30. I also rise early, between 4 and five each morning, and retire early, usually falling asleep by 9. I think intermittent fasting is easier if you’re an early-to-bed, early-to-rise person. You don’t have that late-night desire to snack.

Thank you so much for answering my question! I kind of dorked out when you started answering it in the video 😂 Thanks for sharing about your experience and being so open! I’ve lost weight in the past with calorie counting and weight watchers, but have failed over & over when I’ve tried to do that again since having kids 5 years ago. I don’t think I have the mental space right now to track every single thing I eat. So IF seems like a very appealing approach to health and weight loss ❤️ Evening snacking is my downfall so just stopping any eating after dinner has been so helpful to me so far. Thanks for sharing this healthy & sustainable approach ❤️

I really love this video! Thank you! I’m a mom of 4 as well. My oldest is 7. So, I had them close together. I currently wait 25lbs more than I did when I delivered my second child. I can definitely admit that being on lockdown hasn’t helped me with my eating habits. With my first child I lost 50 lbs basically doing intermittent fasting, but I didn’t realize that was what I was doing. I was breastfeeding then as well. I am currently breastfeeding and intermittent fasting as well. It hasn’t changed my milk supply at all. Snacking late just isn’t natural to the human body in general. I hope that I will lose the extra weight overtime like you did. Such an inspiration.

I think this is something that could work for me. I’ve heard of intermittent fasting but never really knew what it involved. I was thinking I would eat within the hours between 10-6. I have got bad habits of eating late in the evening which I know is bad. I have Crohn’s disease and I often have trouble sleeping because of pain. Maybe if I stopped eating so late I wouldn’t have as much pain during the night. I’m going to see if I can get my husband doing this as well. We both feel we need to lose about 20 pounds but if we lost a few more that would be okay as well. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and being so honest with us.
