What he ment is that when your blood glucose drops about 2-4 hours after meal, you are getting hunger to raise it up again (your hormone Ghrelin goes up because of that). Measure your blood glucose with blood monitor and you will see that on your very eyes. I tried that and its perfectly correct.

💯💯💯 Before I break my fast around noon, sometimes my stomach feels empty. I’m not hangry, feeling like I need to eat RIGHT NOW. It’s sometimes annoying, but I drink water and the feeling goes away. Once I have broken my fast, I sometimes feel hungry throughout my 8 hour eating window. And when I’m hungry, I eat something. I generally aim to eat a good balance of protein/carbs/fat, but I don’t count calories or macros. Then after dinner, I’m done eating. After decades of yo yo dieting, I lost 100 lbs and it truly feels effortless. I feel like I learned some kind of magic trick! But I think it’s how my body works best. So grateful to have discovered it!

That's usually when i break my good fasting habits and I automatically feel bad physically and psychologically when i don't IF. I hope everybody tries intermittent fasting. @@SouEuMesmoAqui If you're active most of the day then you need 2 good meals. Have a 1000 calorie meal at 6 am and another 1000 calorie meal at 6 pm. No snacking between meals. Only Himalayan salt water or black coffee allowed. Meal 1. at 6 am. Protein/carbs for fuel. Meal 2. Protein/fats. Example of a 6 am breakfast Scrambled egg sandwich on wheat bread, cup of cooked rice, fruit smoothie, cup of bulletproof coffee, Dinner at 6: large salad with cheese, 2 pieces of chicken, avacado, cup of stirfry vegetables cooked with butter, cup of bone broth. Try the 2 meals a day every 12 hours for at least 2 weeks. Make sure to drink plenty of Himalayan salt water for electrolytes (3 to 4 cups a day). Because you're underweight and have a fast metabolism you can still enjoy healthy carbs, fats, and fruit, but remember, 12 hours between meals is barely fasting. The benefits of fasting begin around 8 to 12 hours of no food. Good luck. I hope this gives you some ideas. You really have to experiment on yourself and try different eating times and fasting schedules to see what gives you the best sustainable energy. If I feel too tired or weak, I'll switch to something else. The eating schedule I just gave you works great for me. Carbs and meats in the morning, fat, meats and veggies for dinner.

I am 40. In December 2020 I was 97kg. Started intermittent fasting and mostly ketogenic diet. Fastest 18 hours daily. Lost down to 85kg within about 10 weeks. Then, the weight loss was slow and gradual afterwards. Came down to 73 kg by end 2021. Now, July 2022. I am about 72 to 73 kg. I am happy about it. I fast daily for 18 hours.. Not much of exercise besides walking routinely. Of course, off and on I treat myself with fancy fast food. But, such treats are few and far apart. So, yeah, fasting helps.

The guy who won the Nobel Prize for work on autophagy is Japanese. Most cultures and religions, including Western ones, have some concept of fasting, with a sense of regeneration and renewal. Oshumi's work shows the mechanism by which low quality or damaged materials in the cell are recycled. After seeing the research, I have gone to intermittent fasting and some extended fasts, with good results. Maybe some people get hung up on race, but when it comes to my health, I just want the best science.

American here! 👋🏼 I started timed eating 1 month ago and lost 12lbs easily. I eat at 12pm and never eat past 7pm. Two meals a day, low carbohydrate (not no carb) and high healthy fats. I’m 6’1” and weigh (currently 175lbs). I was 187 when the pandemic started. Eating this way makes it extremely easy to reduce calories. It’s very hard only eating twice a day to exceed your daily “recommended” caloric intake. I water fast for 24-36 hours occasionally and I have more energy now than when I was eating the standard American diet. Stop letting food control your life. Let it become an ancillary part of your daily routine and watch how your health improves.

Why am I not suprised Sadhguru is doing OMAD! And he also sleeps very very little. People dont believe this. But after experimentations myself. I eat much less, sleep much less, but have more energy? Magic? Took 3 months for me to see the transformations. I'm always a sceptic. But if it works, it works.... 1. Start eating 2 big meals a day spread out. Once comfortable try OMAD. No snacking in between, this is very important. 2. Make sure your body and mind are at ease, total relaxed. Yoga and meditation can help with this. 3. Exercise in nature. Anything you like. 4. You become super human. Sleep went down for me from 8 to 6 hours. Perfect skin, stable energy. Feeling very happy. But I only been doing this 3 months. I think it will get even better. If you compare human body to a machine. The more efficient it runs, the less maintenance it requires(sleep, food). Good Luck.

I’m currently in a Masters Degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics internship In the U.S., and I have two under graduate degrees in Nutrition as-well. Through the whole of my western education in Nutrition, intermittent fasting is demonized in our education system. I have intermittent fasted for two-years now, and I quietly accept the criticism of classmates and professors alike. But I know something they don’t know, intermittent fasting isn’t a diet, but it’s a sustainable lifestyle practice. My body is adjusted and copes with stress, studying, illnesses, and anything thrown at it better than when I was a teenager (well, almost as well). Intermittent fasting isn’t a diet, and it’s not meant to be a short term fix, to truly understand this practice it takes years. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to 3 meals a day, I haven’t had over two-meals in one day since mid 2018. We drown our bodies with food; therefore, it’s hard to hear our body crying out for a simple breath.

Iris Renate On most days I only eat one-meal-a-day (OMAD), usually putting me around 22-23 hour fast. On the other days I fast for at least 16 hours and and anywhere from a 6-8 hour eating window, this is commonly referred to as the 16:8 diet. During my fast I do not eat anything, and only drink coffee and green tea (no sugar, milk, or cream). However some days I add fiber (Metamucil) to my water, I’m not sure if it breaks my fast or not, but fiber is key for gut health, good cholesterol, and disease prevention. To break my fast I eat protein rich meals, protein induced the most satiety (fullness) between meals. Also, your body tends to break down amino acids first during a fast; however, amino breakdown is only temporary. If you were able to do a long term fast, you should try alternative day fasting (ADF). ADF is simply not eating every other day. Some people I know do ADF and combine it with 16:8 or OMAD on their eating days. I hope this helps you!
