Damn, you're 62?! I hope I look half as good as you at 62! Thanks for the great video, Steve!

This stuff is very important. It really is a quality of life issue. Time and gravity will do its nefarious work on the human body for sure if we do not counteract it with a shift in emphasis on our innards. I’m a massage therapist of 24 years and have had the good fortune of having had cadaver study early in my training. Through that, I gained an appreciation for the intricate way we are woven together inside. The first thing you notice when you look at a body is that we are an interconnected fabric and not a mechanistic piece of machinery. Our internal organs are draped on our spines like Christmas tree ornaments, not merely lying there as you see in a book. If we tone our posture and movement, we stimulate and massage our organs and keep them functioning, as well as lubricating the sinews and joints. Kickass video Steve!

azlaroc12, Man, thank you for this comment. It's amazing to read this because it is leading right into the next video that's actually coming out tomorrow, lol. I looked at the views the other day and thought, "Lol, well, anytime I talk about the internals, the views are way down". Then I receive a comment like this, from someone who knows, and it makes my efforts justified. Great comments, the part about our internal organs being draped on our spines like Christmas tree ornaments, really paints a picture in the brain for me. It also reminds me about what Dr. Painter said of his Tai Chi teacher, Master LI. He said that Master Li, was sickly, so he began studying Tai Chi, but his health didn't improve. He studied under 5 different teaches but was still sickly. He later was looking at photos of himself sitting next to each of his teachers and notice one similarity, each one of his Tai Chi teachers was sitting straight and tall while in each picture, Master Li, was sitting slouched in his chair. He said at that point he began sitting straight and tall, improving his posture and his health rapidly began improving. His "Christmas tree" came back to life! Thank you so much your comment! I needed it!

@@TheIronandSilk sure thing. Sure thing. I’m 63 and feeling mama Earth pullin on me, but when I’m expanded and open, gravity wants to lift me up. Without this, no Gung Fu.

Great topic! Just to expand on your video. The next question is are they separate or are they connected? Is your exterior a representation of your interior? I know my answer but I’ll just throw that out there to see what kind of comments come back. This is pretty much the same question of little body verses big body exercises. Which is more important? You and I have had this conversation many times offline so I know where you stand. Just curious to see the comments back! Keep it going! Love the thumbnails!!!

I always remember you being ridiculously fit. Did you incorporate weight training when you were younger as well? I also briefly remember you mentioning something about the tendons needing to support the muscle.. more curious than anything- I’m too lazy to lift weights 😂

alexshah1171, I waited until now to reply to your comment Alex, because you were a favorite student of mine as a child, so I want to give a very good reply to your comment. I never used weights besides a 10 or 15 lb. dumbbell. GM Chicoine, said that he never did weight lifting until he was 53. In my mind I always said, "Well I won't start any weight training until I turn 63." Teacher said that GM Ch'ang, would say, "Everyone reaches their peak as martial artists, and weights will keep you at your peak longer and help you age more gracefully". I see these words as truths, but I will be 63 in January, but, I am back to doing Muscle/Tendon Change and I feel I am years away from reaching my peak. So I don't see myself starting any weight training anytime soon. Alex, always be careful of your words. What follows "I Am" follows you! I am (I'm) to lazy to lift weights. I'm too this or I'm that. I would always hear people say, "I'm tired", and it would be in the AM when work was beginning they would say "I'm tired". How? It's the AM, you've already slept, your day has already begun! How can you be tired. But what follows "I Am" follows you, so of course these kind of people would always be this way. It's not that you're too lazy to lift weights, it's that you don't see them important enough to spend your time doing them. And that fine. Stay active Alex, you'll continue to be great!
