    Prime numbers are not that rare. I'm surprised with all of Brady's experience, he still thought they are. As Tony says, the estimation is N/ln(N), so if N has form 10^x, then pi(N) = 10^x/(x * ln(10)). The denominator is just knocking off log10(x * ln(10)) ≈ log10(x) + 0.3 digits from the numerator's power. 666 is 3-digit long, so the amount of primes would be ≈ 10^(666-3). Prime numbers are very much not a rarity at all.

  • @ph1ber

    @ph1ber

    Ай бұрын

    I'm pretty sure his confusion comes from this: If you pick an integer uniformly at random from the first N, then the probability of drawing a prime is 1/log N. So as N increases, you are less likely to draw a prime. So in this sense, they indeed become "rarer". You are of course correct that the number of primes between, say N and N/2 in absolute number increases as N increases.

    Thought of an interesting problem.... There are 18 4-digit numbers that contain "666", 19 if you count the one with leading zero. That's 18 out of 9000, or 19 out of 10000. For more digits, there are more that contain it, and also almost twice the percentage. So at what number of digits are there MORE numbers that contain "666" than which don't? I predict it's over 503 digits, but it might actually be less. Can't find an answer to this anywhere. A simpler parallel is for what number of digits there are more numbers that contain the single digit "1" or any other, than which doesn't....

    You can figure out in your head if 1...(a bunch of zeroes)..1 is divisible by 11 very easily, since if the alternating sum of digits in a number is divisible by 11 the number itself also is. So 101 is not since 1-0+1 = 2 but 1001 is since 1-0+0-1 = 0 Meaning that any number with an even amount of digits starting and ending in one, with a bunch of zeroes in between, must be divisible by 11.

    The thing is that all "special" numbers based on digit patterns immediately lose their "specialness" if you look at them in any base other than 10. So really we're just exploring things that are curiosities of base 10 rather than things that are special about any of these particular numbers. Pick a number N that is special because of digit pattern X in base 10. I'd be willing to bet that N-1 while not special in base 10, is probably special with digit pattern X in some other base. Same for N+1. I dunno it just feels akin to changing your printer ink cartridge and then getting excited about the new "DARK" numbers that come out afterward.

    How do you even measure 3 locations to find slope? What would take you to measure 3 locations find a slope? Rise, run, and ?. Rise,run, width? Then put that into 3 locations. 3x3=9. That has to equal .666 or 666.0.... idea is you have 6 happening 3 times. So 3 locations of 6 value.

    A rather uninteresting video about "interesting" 666 digit numbers. There is nothing inherently interesting about 666 digit numbers. I think this unjustified fascination some people have with the number 666 is due to a Biblical reference to it. From my understanding the number 666 is used in the Bible only as a coded reference to a particular king (or some other ruler) the writer was criticizing. To avoid possible punishment the writer referred to the king using a code (which happened to produce the number 666) his followers would understand but the authorities would have difficulty proving his use of 666 was actually a reference to the king. An even more useless aspect of your video was referring to incidents that happened in the years represented by the final four digits of particular 666 digit numbers. The only meaningful part of your video was the reference to Fibanocci numbers since as you pointed out they do seem to occur in nature.

    2:30 : you can afford to pay a real human artist to do real human art. This bot trash doesn't belong in my feed or not labeled as "containing AI generated content"

    If there can be computer-generated numbers in there, and mathematicians use computers, instead of paying humans to calculate 2^666 by hand, then why not computer-generated art, when artists also use AI? It is just a tool.

    @@landsgevaer Because, you deliberately-misconstruing knuckledragger, one thing is a tedious repetitive task and the other is a career in reflecting the human condition in realistic and fantastic ways. This is saying "Our HUGE channel thinks a few prompts is worth the same market space and validity as "art" as a human creation". It's scummy, and your absolute lack of capacity to comprehend this speaks far more than you could ever know.
