@@ash.k2720hello, IBKR allows for both option, if not mistaken by default it’s FIFO (but you can always choose to close the later position instead)

Hi Ziet, do you mind do an episode to explain the portfolio performance in IBKR? like the cumulative performance , MWR, TWR and etc.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes....

@@August-Felix The crazy part is that those advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns but some are charging fees over fees that drain your portfolio. Is this the case with yours too?

Hi Ziet...thank you for another great video...very informative and keep the great work up👍...just want to know, how long does it take for the trading limit in IBKR to reset back after completing the sell off?....for comparison, with Rakuten the trading limit will immediately reset back after sell off, although the cash will only be accessible after two working days.

Very educational video, it's amaizing how the little piece of information can lead to significant finance success, this was exactly what happened to me when I was introduced to Ramos J.

Ziet, i cant buy funds. I have done the mutual fund test many times last week but no luck yet. How long does that normaly take to be approved. Also i can not se the test that i have sent in. how do i know if it is approved or not? :) Best regard Teodor

Hellooo, glad you found the video helpful! Yes, I do invest in US stocks directly, despite the 30% withholding tax on dividends. The growth potential and diversification benefits of US stocks make them worth considering for my investment strategy/objective. The WHT tax hit is only on dividends, not capital gains, so if the stocks appreciate in value, that growth isn't subject to the WHT. It's all about balancing the portfolio to optimize for both growth and tax efficiency.

If i wish to put rm200 to sp500.. will it be worth it to ibkr or better stay with stashaway?

Is their mobil apps user friendly for option trading ? And is their fee charge competitive to others zero commission brokers out there ? Urgently need to decide on a new brokers 😢as TD no more serving me

Hello! I've tried purchasing VWRA but it seemed that the fees are a bit too high than what I've researched so far? Please note that the currency on my account is USD since it was from Wise USD account) Example: Pricing plan: Tiered Order Type: Market Quantity: 620 USD Total charge on preview: 623.95 Can you please enlighten me regarding the fee?

Great Video! However Interactive brokers support is not responsive!! had any issue and opened 3-4 tickets from my account with NO RESPONSE for close to a month now. Is this what i should expect when i want my payout? Any ideas how i can get through to them?

Hi Ziet, great video! Can you please cover cumulative rate of return (time average return, TMA) vs unrealized profit and loss return? Which parameter is the best to measure your portfolio performance? I saw that many are using TMA return and compare with the index. But why not unrealized profit and loss? since that is the net liquidation value. Thank you thank you.

User menu (head and shoulders icon in the top right corner) > Settings > Trading > Trading Permissions. I believe you can find option trading permission there! 😉

Hi Jie Yi, you can always: 1. preview the brokerage fee calculated before placing the trade 2. check the US commission structure on their website 3. download your statement report - there is a fee breakdown section ;) Hope this helps!

When I first open an Individual account with IBKR, can I later change it to a Joint account?

You can convert your USD to HKD/SGD in IBKR :) Go to trade> Convert Currency, and that will do it!

Not 100% sure on which icon you're referring to, but it could mean your stocks have come close to its ex-dividend day, you can check if it's true!😛

Try logging out of the paper trading account first! When you log in again, switch from "paper" to "live", hopefully it works :)

Hey Ziet, WISE has stopped issuing USD account details for new users and this means withdrawing from IBKR thru WISE in USD is not possible (I've tried, thanks to your video guide on withdrawal). Hopefully it's a temporary issue. At the meantime, do you have any suggestion for someone who is keen to start investing in the US with IBKR but is reluctant because of this issue?

Ah! My existing Wise USD balance still works fine tho - lets see if there's any update. hopefully just a temporary issue! As an alternative, depending on where you are from, you can open an account with a currency that IBKR supports - for Malaysians & Singaporeans that means SGD bank account, this would be the cheapest way to fund/withdraw

Hi, 100k minimum of Net Asset Value (meaning stocks + cash) is to unlock the full 4+% rate yes, can also have partial as well For more info on the qualifying amount (also can try out the interest calculator), can find out more here: www.interactivebrokers.com/en/accounts/fees/pricing-interest-rates.php

hi, you cant choose the entity you are registered under ya, if you are SG then yes its automatically assigned IBKR SG for you, if you are malaysian, its usually under IBKR US (LLC)

In your search bar, type "Request Trading Permissions", that should lead you to enabling Options level 4. As for live market data, by default IBKR is giving free market data with delays, and you do need to pay for real time market data, can refer to their pricing structures here www.interactivebrokers.com/en/pricing/research-news-marketdata.php

Yes it allows you to Option trade, however when you want to use more complex option constructs you will need a margin account

Hi, you can check at your Order history - it should show your historical buy/sells whether its pending or filled. Alternatively, can use IBKR GlobalTrader app, its more user friendly - hope this helps!

It depends on what you buy! Accumulating ETF = yes Distributing ETF = no (dividend is sent to you) Individual stock = no (dividend is sent to you)

And yes, for Ireland-domiciled ETFs, you won't be subjected to the estate tax since those investments are not considered US-situated assets. For estate planning as you are referring to, I have not dived into it very deeply because it's a very complicated subject and I have not gotten a really good answer on it yet. But from my conversation with IBKR customer support, they suggest us Malaysians to hire a lawyer, contact IBKR customer support, setup a will. Rest assured it's definitely one topic that I will definitely cover down the road!
