​@@NRGRizzoKZread bro you should go with ryzen 3 4100 if you want Upgradability. Because with the same motherboard you can upgrade to a ryzen 7 5800x3d. If you want straight up performance and don't care about changing the motherboard again,then the i3 is better choice. Both pair well with the gtx 1650, gtx 1660,gtx 1660 super, rx 6600xt,rx 6500xt.and if you can buy used then a gtx 1060 "6 gb", gtx 1070, rx 5700xt. All of these gpu's are good for decent 1080p gaming

@@Sjwidh always buy the latest hardware, it's not worth buying older stuff since there's a new gen every year, my 10700k paired with the 6700xt also bottlenecks like crazy in some games.

I built my pc a few years ago with a ryzen 5 3600 and 3060ti. I play at 1440p with everything maxed out, except brand new games even then it's all ultra/high settings. This is a seriously good CPU.

If you gone with an RTX 2060, you can run it in 4K

Absolutely true especially for the bent pines ones you can get them really cheap and just bent the pins back to normal and you have a very decent cpu

The 13100f also has better single core performance

@@iikon01 used Ryzen CPUs are a bit more temperamental. Both Greg from Salazar Studio and Bryan from TechYesCity have seen several Ryzen 5 3600s either just die out of nowhere, have failed memory channels, or show instability at stock clocks and voltages. I wouldn't take the risk, personally.

Especially at this low price point, your choice of graphics card is what really matters. In most cases, you'll be pairing a lower end card with CPUs like this, which means in gaming your performance will be so similar that CPU choice doesn't matter. And if you're a power user, doing video editing and such, why would you be looking at CPUs like these?

@@JordanJ_CPT Depending on the game, that should be fine. Assuming 1080p is your resolution, the 3050 will usually be the limiting factor. So unless you were expecting to upgrade to a much more powerful vidcard, the CPU is a workable match.

For some reason, on the Canadian market, the I3 is going for $200 while the ryzen 5 3600 is only $130, I went for the ryzen 5 3600

In my country new r5 3600 costs 65 dollars ( converting from today's exchange rate from my country's currency), it is cheap

I think the chipset paired with cpu and ram would make the biggest difference. Not the cpu alone

It would help if you also provided the price of a brand new 3600, which is about the same as the i3 13100F, with the stock CPU cooler, and much cheaper without it. So even buying new, with no risk for bent/missing pins, the Ryzen 5 3600 is, at the very least, on equal footing with the i3 13100F, depending on what you want the CPU for (5 FPS vs more overall performance). And that's ignoring the fact that for that same price tag or less you can get Ryzen 5 4600G and even 5600. Provide all the information next time.

@@Akira14496 Yeah, but is has decent enough GPU, so you can save a lot of money there, and power through with the integrated graphics until you can get a decent dedicated GPU. And again, 5600 has a really close pricetag to 3600, you can get it even cheaper if you find a deal

People need to realize that just about ANY modern CPU is enough for gaming. GPU is where you want to spend a little extra money if you can. But unless your trying to game at 4k.... Any modern GPU and CPU will play ANY game at 1080p.

I have a ryzen 5 3600 and i like it. It is so cheap these days,even brand new is kinda cheap and i would recommend it if you want to build a mid range pc

I searched for ages for a 3600 in that price area, they just don't exist! Ended up buying a new one for the same as the used ones were going for on ebay

Overclock your 3600 Its boost clock goes up to 4.2ghz, but if you just overclock it to always run at 4.2ghz, itll do it happily. I run mine at 4.25ghz base and boost, barely draws any more power, does 8-11% better, stays cool enough that the fan is still basically silent.

@@inadulabonairsoloshopexx ryzen master cpu utility or bios overclocking settings I used bios but ryzen master works just as well. Drop all core voltage to 1.275 and set base frequency and boost frequency to 4.25ghz

5000/4000 Ryzen its been selling at a great value for a while now, I think it is worth considering that before buying an older one. On the other hand, you will problably get better features, better support and more room to upgrade if you go with the 13th gen i3.

the 12/13th gen i3 has better single core performance and also leaves room for upgrading to the i5, i7 or i9 of that gen, I use the i3 12100F, and when the time comes I could update my board bios and use a 13th gen i5 or i7 without having to replace my board, plus it's basically an i5 12/13th gen with it's efficiency cores stripped.

Overclocked R5 3600 Goes hard... Cheap and nice for OC. but for newbies is better i3, you're Right.

Go for a 12100 or a 13100. Whatever is currently best value. 12th and 13th Gen supports 20 pcie 5.0 lanes (x16 for GPU and x4 for an SSD), and they also let you use either DDR4 OR DDR5 RAM.

I got an 13100f from Best Buy when they were $65 and paired it with what looked like an unused Mag Z690 Tomahawk DDR4 for $120. I had an $71 12600k in hand but it turned out to be junk.

Idk the i3 13100f has a huge upgrade path if you want to stay on the same board

Get the 13100F is a monster of a chip. Consistently beats out my i9-9900 by a little difference which is crazy.

At that price point, the 5600 vs 13100F would make a better comparison. Whatever edge in multi-core performance the 3600 may have over the 13100F would be overtaken by the tremendous single-threaded performance advantage the 13100F has over the 3600.

Pcie 4 may not matter to everyone, but i wouldn't get a 5500 over a 3600 because I'd get basically the same performance without pcie 4, and that's not worth it imho.

I’m upgrading my computer gpu. I’m giving the other components to my 10 year old and buying a ryzen 5 3600 to pair with the 5600xt I’m giving her. This is way more than enough for Roblox and those simple games. Shittt it still is my daily driver for warzone and it works great! I myself am going with the 4070 super founders for some power and I love the founders card aesthetic

Soon I’m planning on building a pc with the most expensive build with highest priced components however I only use computer once a week or less but in love with building pc for no reason

i found used i3-12100 on fbmp for $75 the cheapest b660 is about $94 so 3600 is still better value since used 60 + 60 for asrock b450m-hdv r4.0

The only reason why the i3 13100f won because it came new out the box and after a few months it's doesnt work the same as it use to

And the 12100f is 2% slower but can be had for $94 new shipped with a cooler or less than $80 used on ebay. Which you could get a B760 board and have much faster IO than AM4, especially once a 13600kf is added.

Still the best all around value CPU imo - the 5600x is amazing

i just bought a i3-12100f for 77 dollars which comes with thermal paste (new) and 100 dollar 1660 super (used) whole build cost me 400 dollars

well, I ain't Zack. Your ram speed isn't gunna hurt much with Ryzen rubbing 6200mt vs Intel's faster speed. you probably won't see a difference in game. but the 13600k is gunna be slightly faster. but in game I doubt you will see much difference

@@ezequielperez8535 I can explain this one. basically as a 7800X 3D user. and an avid enthusiast. You're not going to get much more than 6000 or 6200 mt out of a Ryzen chip. I'm pretty sure because Intel has a more mature memory controller you can get 7000mt or greater ram. from the 13600k to the 13700k is 80bucks. the jump from the cheapest DDR5 6200 to DDR5 7200 is 40 bucks. of course the dominance of the 5800x 3d at 4 bucks more with cheaper mobos and cheaper ddr4 ram would be the best bang per buck.

Keep in mind that with good enough cooling you can OC the 3600x to 4.7GHz ( speaking from expierience)

AM4 motherboards are still being made, so no. Feature wise AM4 and lga1700 budget boards are almost the same, except for pcie gen 5 GPU slot that nobody will need for years

Stop measuring speeds of a CPU with Gigahertz. I know that it looks the same at a first glance, but you got to remember that every cpu handles its clock cycles differently. Some CPUs may do many more operations per clock, that’s why some CPUs are faster than others, despite having a significantly lower clock speed. Measuring a CPU’s speed with gigahertz is like measuring a football field with amount of steps walked, it CAN measure that distance sure, however someone else’s steps may be smaller, or larger. Just like how everyone walks a different distance per step, CPUs complete different amounts of operations in a cycle.

Cores and threads are much more important than clock speed. The Ryzen is a better value, but only if paired with a full feature motherboard. Oh, and forget about any Intel components. Oh and also any features the 5000 series brings.

don't forget, that r5 3600 has 2 chiplets, that does not effect in synthetic benchmarks, but highly in real applications, so, actually, no benefits for r5 3600, cause it requires $15 more for cooling and you can buy i3 12100f for around $50-$60 used.

Imo the i3 13100f is future proof so basically it kinda beats the r5 3600. Dont get me wrong, there's also an AM4 upgrade path but it doesn't support ddr5, pcie 5.0 or gen 5 nvme drives (honestly idk where i was going with this it's basically 1am and im writing a bs comment on a YT video 😂).

There’s also the fact that lga 1700 doesn’t have as much upgrade path as am4 as long as you have like a b550m you can upgrade all the way to Ryzen 9 5900

Get a ryzen 3600 for now and its board, later when you have money get a 5800x3d, that chip has similar performance to 13900k

The ryzen 5 5500 is only for 89$ rn. And it is a zen 3 refresh of the 3600. something like what they did with 1600af. I think that is also a very good option considering you can get one brand new for 89 bucks
