TCR is the F-16 of bikes. Light, nimble, and super agile and responsive. Sure it may not be the most aerodynamic bike out there, but hey, Rider’s position contributes the most drag (Aero bikes looks damn cool tho ngl) I own the 2021 model in rim brake, fitted with 50mm carbon clinchers ( I know rim is dead but wtv), and idk, it doesn’t feel like an entry level roadbike in terms of performance tbh… it’s more than what i can ask for in terms of its price point. I don’t really struggle keeping up with the rest at Seletar or TMCR. Power transfer is very efficient, can’t really go wrong with the TCR. And This new generation of TCR will be the reason im shifting to disc brakes XD. And trust me, TCR can hang out with the best. Great video man! Will definitely head down to Tay Junction to have a look at it myself in person :)

TCR is not "entry level bike" by any means - not sure why you'd point out you can "keep up with the rest of the group". TCR is and always was a marvelous racing machine.

I forgot to highlight that the Frost Silver (TCR Advanced 0) model - the cables are not routed into the stem/bars and its not the aero steerer tube (ie OverDrive) VS the OverDrive Aero steerer tube which allows for a full integration of the cables into the stem/bars. It is still hidden from sight but its neatly tucked under the stem.

Bonded CF spoke to rims are just unnecessary for the minimal gains. If one breaks, the whole wheel is ruined.

Internak cabling and hookless rims are both no-gos for me. I love my 2020 TCR, I'm afraid the next one will not be TCR though. 😐

If you were to keep rim brakes on a bike with integrated internal routing, the brakes have to be of a proprietary design, like the Specialized Venge ViAS and many people don't like proprietary parts.

Very disapointed by the choice of internal cable routing. It will degrade the shift performance of mechanical drivetrain and will make servicing more expensive.

As much as I don't hope to see the TCR Advanced end up in this state, it's inevitable (because riders whine for flawless aesthetics) and that day has come. I actually almost pulled the trigger on the ninth-generation rim brake TCR Advanced, but neither the brakes nor the routing configuration are the reason why I dropped the thought.

The 2024 TCR Advanced Pro Frameset lists for $2100 on the Giant US website. That’s a great value for a true race bike.

It was never considered entry level, it's a racing machine. Yes, there are versions which are really affordable, but it does not mean it's every level.
