Intake dyno tests!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

What you do when you have a Civic Si, two intakes and a Dyno available?!
Let’s compare them!
The only downside on the short intake is the higher air intake temperatures vs the cold air intake due to the location.

0:30 First dyno pull Injen with air filter
1:07 Injen with no air filter / only Velocity stack

The diameter is also different with these 2 intakes… injen is 3” and skunk 2 is 3.5”

I would love to see you guys do a test on something that I have built on my hondas ..... So on my Honda's and even my mom's 2012 Civic.... We live in Seattle where it rains a lot so yes I know cold air intake is better than short ram intake but we have the fear of sucking up water here because of how much it rains during the winter....... So what I did on my Honda's and my mom's Honda was a little bit of a mixture of both I took a short ram intake I built a custom heat shield around it then I wrapped the intake tube itself in the gold reflective heat tape which helped drop intake air temperatures down by 10 degrees then I built a custom air duct that went from the heat shield down to the front bumper where the fog light wood set and basically made a custom air duct with ram air effect THE DIFFERENCE WAS HUGE.... Before with just the regular short ram intake no heat shield no air duct her intake air temperatures were at 140 degrees on a hot day after doing the air duct heat shield and gold reflective heat tape around the intake tube it dropped her intake air temperature down to 70° on a hot summer day so now she has the benefit of a cold air intake without the fear of sucking up water or getting heat soaked like regular short ram intake
