Hey Adam, really good to see you back and feeling better then ever!! Glad you're doing well. Stair project turned out great. Doing a vid on what not to do is a great idea! Hopefully you can get back to posting on the regular so we can see the progress you're making on the bus.

@@AdamandAtlas No worries. I’m here to see this project hit the finish line, is as close as bus builds get to the finish line anyway. You post, I’ll watch.

Great to see a bus update. I absolutely upvote the "how not to build a bus" video idea. I've always thought about doing one like that for party bus conversions, because I never found one and that coulda saved me a lot of headaches the last 6 years haha

You seem to be in much better spirit than in the last video, and that's really great to see. I've watched yours & Steph's channel form the first video and enjoyed coming along. Glad that you are planning to continue the legacy of the bus build as wel the KZread channel. The bus looks cozy even at this stage. I think are now at a stage where you can focus on smaller projects that are really satisfying to finally get done, while not getting overwhelmed so much by the sheer complexity of the project. Looking forward to many more videos!

Looks nice! Just an FYI. Aluminum cuts great with a wood blade. Ive cut it for years on my dewalt miter saw and the blade doesnt notice a difference. Cutting lvp flooring kills my wood blade on though..

I cut a lot of the aluminum tile edging when doing the bathroom with my wood blade and it felt super sketchy. Almost launched the piece of aluminum a few times so i figured i try a safer route lol

Have you checked the body to frame shackles/ anchor's and bushing's between? There should be several.. and if they aren't snug, the body will flex a lot more. would cause your floor to warp when you drive, unless you did some strengthening to the floor already..? Maybe the material would work ok, but the body's warping all the time

Love the vids, you're doing a great job. Is your in floor heating working? If it is, would you change anything about it if you could do it again?

  • @AdamandAtlas

Thanks! The in-floor heating system works a little bit but is not very effective and I completely rely on my Air Diesel heater to keep the bus warm in the winter. If I could do it again, I would do way more loops with a smaller size pipe to increase coverage and thermal exchange.

I think the bottom step being grip tape, deleting the tile there is a big, big practical plus, in all seasons and weather conditions -- as in, ANY weather or temperatures you'd prefer not be filming the stairs in! The bus has changed radically since I picked up either of those wagons. And *definitely* make a recap video to note re-work to improve over past ideas you'd no longer recommend.

How the hell did you ever think to buy a rot bucket? I've seen about 40 of your videos so far and although I'm impressed with the vast majority of your work, I cant believe you did that. That is the first thing every skoolie builder will tell you. In time, it would be a sinking ship. You can never stay ahead of rot. Who would even want to try. You do see it, right? Do you think it may affect the resale?

I have read all of your previous comments and i appreciate the engagement. You seem impressed with my knowledge on all the other topics but think i don’t know anything about rust. This bus is NOT a rotten rust bucket. Yes, there was surface rust on the frame and underbody, but nothing sandblasting and a protective coating cant fix. You will not find a bus without surface rust in Ontario, or really anywhere in Canada. The stair well was the hardest hit because the front tire hits it with salt from the outside and from kids boots on the inside. I properly dealt with it by completely replacing the metal. I’ll make a video in the future showing the process of making the underbody pristine. Stay tuned!
