The minimum sentence for sitting in the road to protest should be 10 years in prison.

What annoys me is if one of these people in traffic had their kid in the back seat that had to get to hospital or something and the dad got out and just booted them in the face to get the kid to hospital quick enough to save him that kid would now have a dad in prison for something they r doing, police protect the wrong people

Love how these sad people sit on the road thinking they are fighting for a good cause while lorry's and cars sit burning fuel adding to the pollution because they can't move 😂

Q. How much insulation would be needed to insulate Britain? A. Assuming they mean just the buildings, each home needs about 100m2 of insulation, and there are (say) 20 million homes which need insulating. That's 2 billion square meters of insulation (what's that in football pitches? - ed). That would stretch to the moon and back 2,600 times, or is the same length as 120 million whales, so it's rather a lot (that's only 3 trillion stuffed hedgehogs - ed). But don't forget all the other materials you would need: 1 billion square meters of plasterboard (making this generates a huge amount of CO2), 10 billion screws and nails, 1 billion square meters of plastic vapour barrier (even more CO2), 20-40 million additional lorry journeys, and you must install double glazing too, and under-floor heating. How much CO2 would be created by doing all this, and how much would be saved? I think they cancel each other out, so it doesn't really make any sense. New-build houses must, of course, be fully insulated, with under-floor heating and heat pumps. But if the UK warms up a bit (don't forget global warming), then you won't need the insulation (except maybe to keep you cool). So the "Insulate Britain" bunch are assuming it will not get warmer then? I'm confused... P.S. Plasterboard is only needed if you do interior insulation. On the exterior you often use a nasty resin-based compound to cover the (even nastier) polystyrene insulation.

I think we are missing the a important point, most of these sad people are retirement age people. They have nothing to do, so they think it would be a good idea to sit on a busy road and think they are getting a point across. If that kid was mine, he would NOT be late to school. It's not a disgrace. What is a disgrace is doing nothing while we're heading for a climate catastrophe in the next decades. What is a disgrace is not even trying to inform and get informed about the climate crisis. Why can't people understand that climate change means the end of the world as we know it? Humans need nature to survive. Climate change can mean no food anymore, new diseases, millions or billions of people will move as countries become inhabitable with heat or floods. It's bound to cause wars. People compare trivial things like minor annoyances today with major catastrophes coming in the next decades. Many are young enough today to suffer the consequences in their life. Granted such protests are not ideal, but there is nothing else that has worked so far. Scientists have consistently warned about climate change for over 30 years and nothing improves. Burning coal and fuel has always been on the rise instead of decreasing.

In Australia, any person can make a citizens arrest for any offence, as long as that person is in the act of committing that offence. So in Australia, the drivers can execute an arrest on these people. However, I did some research and in the UK, they can only do a citizens arrest if it's an indictable offence (which I'm assuming blocking traffic is not). Maybe the UK should change the power for citizens to arrest or make this a more serious offence

Drive on through. Even a child has sense enough to not sit in the middle of the road.

Remember guys, stopping a statue from being pulled down is far-right. Blocking the M25 is fine.

I’m on the autistic spectrum and I work via my own small business and a night time delivery job for a bit extra to make the bills easier. Some people genuinely need help and can’t work or can only do a small amount of time and that’s what the benefit scheme is for. But I do agree with you that far too many people rip it off. There are a lot of people like me that don’t let a label get in the way of us working hard like you or everyone else. 😃

Sarah Everard's vigil was hijacked by woke activists that turned a respectable vigil into a soap box to preach anti-police and anti-racism rhetoric. These people know better than to come to the USA and pull this crap. They'd be pepper sprayed, stun gunned and beat down. But the law would get there first and carry you off to jail. Why aren't your laws protecting you over there? I mean ince these guys touch your cars it becomes vandalism. Why aren't you citizens filing damage claims against these organizations for paint scratches, dents, etc etc? I mean is anyone did this to my truck I'd file next day in civil court for damages AND I'd file a damage claim with my car insurance ccompanyand they would do the same!! This is solveable if each citizen would file a lawsuit for damages. And that means loss of wages, stress, scratches to paint etc. People you have to start bombarding the courts with personal lawsuits against Just Stop Oil. If the courts became innundated and had no time for other cases this would stop bc the COURT would make it stop since your law force won't. There's two ways to force change: 1. Through the statutes which is the written law and police enforcement or... 2. Via the courts. And since your police force and written laws refuse to act...MAKE THE COURTS MAKE THEM ACT!!!

One of these days, one irate driver is just going to run them over. And they wonder why drivers are getting irate with them, stopping them from getting to where they should be going including emergency services like fire engines and ambulances.
