Great video, Morgan! It's super interesting to watch the "behind the scenes" of what happens in the shop. On another note... "Angry" Zach Sheets showing his true colors in the background at 6:52 just bashing on things with a hammer!

Do one thing at a time. The cylinder upgrade check it out, then the new pipe. A pipe will also change the jetting.
I had to go with the TC250 holdover got a smoking deal. After riding it this summer I think I would enjoy the 300 kit more since I ride most low-mid on the trails

Patty McDude you’d love it. Really makes the bike easier to ride in the tight stuff but still zings when you need it
Morgan, really informative. Best part - it's your own bike so we know you need it to be reliable. Hope the snow doesn't impact the Death March. Also - what kind of mini-cycle is hanging from the ceiling? It kind of looks like it's got a Hodaka motor in it.
@highlandcycles

Thanks. The snow will only help the Death March be more gnar. That is a custom chassis with an old Indian 50 in it. It has a great story behind it. It’s in one of the older Shlogs

highlandcycles yeah I agree. I do like the snap of the 250, but since I bought my 300xc tpi I am spoiled with grunt lol. Still really like my 250x tho. I’ve ridden some sort of woods set up yz250 since I was 14. So the last 18 years I’ve had a blue bike as well. Idk that I can let that go.

Supposedly the ignitions are the same and the heads are different in sx vs the woods version of kit. I don't know which version I got.
I am placing my order for a 300 kit for my 2014 250 sx. Your video made me want to pull the trigger on it. I am also ordering new chain and sprockets. Can you give me your thoughts on Sprocket sizing with the 300 so i will have a good starting spot? Apricate all the content you put out.

Hey Morgan , thanks for fixing my "tube" flat on short notice when i was up vacationing last August with Chad and Colleen! I broke my flange on 2014 250 xcw. do i need a whole new cylinder? all those flange guards say they're for 2017 and up. I need one next time. if i find a 300 kit, i hope i can find a guard for one. I tend to slam rocks alot.
@highlandcycles
2 жыл бұрын
You don't need a whole new cylinder, just the flange. I know that people used to make those protectors for the older cylinders and they really aren't that different. I would imagine that one of the newer ones would fit your bike. I might need a little modification but not much.
Do you have a vlog going through a Honda 1984 XL350R carburetor rebuild or set up??

Do you think there is any difference bewtween the sxs 300 cylinder and a basic exc 300 cylinder? Besides the sxs ECU.
@highlandcycles

I did talk about it in a few other vids but the basic idea is that yeah, I LOVE IT! I am not sure I would spend the money on it if I didn't blow up the 250. If all the 250 needed was a piston I would probably just do a top end

señor oh i know. I have spent many hours going to town on cylinders and I honestly just don’t know enough to really change stuff without maybe messing it up. I just like to clean stuff up and match up the flange to make them flow a little better. I have seen some amazing port jobs that definitely make way more power.

If you can deal with the sound of a compressor, you can’t work on bikes either.
