Sounds good Cam! I've been thinking about a new turbo for my 2012. I'll give Ryan a look, plus I want to keep my VGT option.

I would highly recommend them!! Excellent turbo and great quality, I also recommend upgrading your exhaust manifold one time too.

Do you still have turbo? Maybe i missed something. The manifold required for that turbo?

The whistle is the turbo. I have the 64mm stainless diesel vgt boss version and it whistles when throttle is applied. Love the vgt turbo cause quick spool, exhaust brake and more power. I eventually wanna do compounds lol

Remeber with those exhaust manifold studs your gonna have to hot re torque them they will back off if you don’t

you should really put the exhaust back pressure sensor back in to the manifold. helps ecm on the exhaust brake control, but it might depend on your tuning. mine still uses it. but mannnn that turbo sounds niceeeeee. ive got 190k on my factory vgt still kinda just going to see how long i can make it last at this point.

Thats a good point, tbh I don't even have my back pressure sensor haha the brake works good now. 👌🏾 I think my tuning makes obsolete though.

Hope you have better luck than I have with those bilsteins. Not impressed with them at all on my truck. I don't feel they have the valving right for the weight of the diesel. They feel weak and this is my second set after warranty out the first set for the same resson.

Around what RPM did that 369 begin to spool? Was it laggy? I have 15% over (50hp) injectors plus in my 2016 and looking into non vgt swap.

The turbo isn't laggy at all, it's a very driver friendly turbo. She spools at around 15-1700 rpm. Lights off hard around 2100-2250rpm. Tbh with the fueling setup you got the 369sxe would be a very good match up. Since u have more fuel she would spool sooner.

Any plans to put it on a dyno? I'm curious to see where it's at on power

No. It's a smeding 369sxe

Would have been cool to keep the 2nd gen manifold but use the RDS turbo. Still get to keep the VGT but also have more of a throaty sound then the 3rd gen mani. None the less the truck is super clean man. Still like the ol 3rd gen a little better lol. I’d say you miss it at times cause I know I miss my old one lol. Hope all is well man. Keep the content up!

@@EVERYTHANGDIESEL for some reason I thought you had a 2nd gen swap before this setup but maybe I got confused with the old mega lol. I get myself mixed up sometimes my bad man lol. I was mainly meaning it would be cool to do a 2nd gen mani with a Vgt. Not many people do that kind of setup.

I bet you wished you did this job before you put 35s on. Lol. I just 35s on my truck and did the speedo calibration. The calibration changed my TC lock up and shift points and it's SO much better now. It's almost like these cummins rams are suppose to be running 35s and not 31s. Are you going to be upgrading your MAP to a 5 bar so you can see the bigger boost numbers?

Hey Cam, might wanna look into Genoe's actuators Beefy man. Holset are junk! I know MANY who lost them between 70 -150 k. Genoe's is plug and play. And always run withe the actuator on. Especially if you aren't working the ol'girl. These things need to be worked. Evertime i pull our 5th wheel its like getting a tune up. Best of luck with you fat bottom girl! ✌️
