Looks awesome and that’s going to make work so much easier. I’m looking at building a new shop and adding a lift and I wanted to know your thoughts on going with a 4 post vs a 2 post lift? Loving the new shop!

For saving shop space a 2 post, plus the convenience of doing 4 wheel brake jobs and ball joints etc. I think a 2 post is more useful. Thanks for watching.

Only time I wished that was removing a transmission on a high lift trans jack. I’m almost 6 ft and it’s been fine for me. My 6’5” friend was a lifting cramped but I’m happy with it still. I use it almost daily.

Just a aluminum conduit box with rubber shielded cord with flex cable hanger at top. It’s a old magnet I had in the shop that I screwed to the back of it. My initial reason for making it magnetic was not drilling any holes in my lift column which will void the warranty

I’m actually really curious as to how you found out depth with a stethoscope, I had a pad poured 3 years ago and I’ve been trying to locate where i had it poured thicker, I have general idea but would like to not have to drill a million inspection holes

  • @AutomedicGarage

I had measurements from when we poured however we were just making sure with how dense the concrete sounded when tapping on it. Where I accommodated for lift is a 24” post hole 3’ deep with rebar in it.

Yes my lift is still working flawlessly, I cannot and will not make recommendations on if you should or should not lift your dually, however my best advice is to ask your lift salesman what they recommend for lifting 1 tons and go by what they say. I bought what my Rotary dealer advised me on. Go put your truck on the scale and see what it weighs, Gary’s is right around 9200lbs. Thanks for watching and sorry I couldn’t be more help.

I've got an 03 6.0 F250 CCSB 4x4 SRW. It weighs in at just under 8K with my tools in it and a full tank. The local lift man who has been in the business for 40 years said I need a 12K lift to lift the F250.. So you're saying there's enough safety margin with a 10K lift to work under these heavy ass trucks?

  • @AutomedicGarage

I use this lift daily. DRW, SRW, 450s etc no problem. I just can’t lift some service trucks depending on what bed is on it or what it’s loaded with. I’m not a lift salesman. My guy recommended the one I have and it works for me. That’s all I can say.

Bedplate! I was gonna reseal mine while the motor was out but then i'd see my main bearings and end up 5k in overhauling the bottom end that prob go another 150k if i dont look so i said fuck it, Keeps my chassis corrosion and squeek free never need to change the oil just add to it and i always find my way back home from the bar. lol

But any how the 10K lifts a 6.0 fine? Ive been looking at lifts and was confused on the math dividing the weight 4 times or something thought 12k min but looked at 15k but the 12k-15k and up prices are like double 8k-10k ones use to find used ones cheap long before ive needed one fml

10k is all I've ever used for superdutys. Look at your door tag on your weight. my single wheel 350 is 8200 lbs, dually aint that much more. my new 10k lift in the video from Forward was only 1k more than buying a used 10k lift under my commercial sales account at Autozone.

Should have gone with symmetrical arms. Way better for lifting trucks. Once you use one you will never use an asymmetric lift again.

Truck weighs around 9k, no where near the lift capacity which in reality is tested over the posted rating, not that I would do that but a 10k lift is more than enough for a 4x4 dually all day. So it may look like a lot but I’ve been lifting these trucks for years with 9 and 10k lifts.

@@rubencasillas1794 I want to hear how much you think it weighs? Are you sure youve been lifting trucks for years? Most diesel shops utilize 10k lifts because they lift 1tons just fine and are rated to do so. Do you not realize I have trucks just like this one on this lift everyday? I suppose you think ford and any other manufacturer is lying on their curb weights? THE TRUCK IS UNDER 10K. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE QUESTIONING.
