In this video we do some tinkering with the engine but then we get to work installing the Artec Full hydro steering ram skid plate!!! It was a blast to film and we had a lot of fun so be sure to let us know what you think and we'll see ya on the next one!!!

Same. I would never have gone looking for garage or truck building videos but here I am excited each week to watch Trent and Brandon work on the truck.
Dear Trent your videos are getting better and better keep up the great work
Great job Trent and Brandon you guys make it look easy. Heres a free design tip ( idea ) on the front bumper, put a 8" to 10 " thick round steal pipe. Weld the ends closed. Now weld the fitting on the pipe bumper, so u have a air gauge, and clip on hose bins so you can pump 30.000 PSI of air in the bumper. Say 200 on the gages. ( why your asking) guys what happens all the time rock crawling. Tires peels off the rim. Your stuck in the middle of no where. Well, u will have the air tank, to pump the tire back up. After you used old trick, starter fluid pop tire back on the rim. I've seen , those bumpers used, very cool..it's still a strong bumper, weld mounts on it if you want for a custom, front on the pipe air tank.
Trent’s Garage has a major sponsor already! Monetized and growing. And, he hasn’t even gotten to the really cool stuff yet.
It is good to have my Trent and Allie fix three times a week now.And of course Brandon too.L O L.
Here's a tip. Your new jack has rubber bellows for lifting power, so when you're welding anything over or near the jack cover it with a fire resistant blanket. You don't want slag/hot sparks burning a hole through the bellows. Just a thought, it your garage.
Trent, Quick trick for your engine hoist! When you are setting it up, or when it is in the down position, just release the valve that releases or lowers the ram, and pull up the hoist arm to what position you want and hold it in that position until you tighten the valve for pressure or lowering! It saves a ton of time!
🇳🇱Once again a very educational video that will help many a student car mechanic. You could start as an instructor, were it not for the fact that you still have to finish a roof and a garage and, above all, make it waterproof 😂 greetings from the Netherlands Hans.👍👍👍👍🍀
Trent, It's a good job you know what you are doing. You have become quite an expert at welding. Best Wishes from Mike. 👍
Not a car guy but still enjoy watching. Thank you!
I love this new channel of you doing stuff you love! Been watching your life unfold for years and i still cant wait for the next video!

Awesome job today Trent. You re very knowledgeable.
It is so much fun and it's interesting to watch you do your magic with a welder and lots of tools Trent. Gene from Tennessee loving your show.
I’m still very impressed by your welding skills 😊
Hi Trent Jason here all the way from Barbados , a small tip when you have a chance before you put the motor in take back off those headers and run a drill a size over through the holes to allow for expansion when they heat up doesnt have to be huge maybe a 1/16th or so oversized will do wonders for removal in the future

Great video today Trent. You and Brandon make my day.
Thanks, brother Trent. Detailed as always, great vlog. Stay safe and enjoy your build.
Trent that’s so great that you were sent that fancy Jack ( I don’t know anything about what you’re doing) but I’m so happy for you! Cool jack, that’s awesome. Great company to do that for you. Happy for you 😊, see you, Allie and gang tomorrow morning.
Hey Trent, when you put the supercharger on, get yourself a Tundra V8 oil filler neck. It’s shorter than the Tacoma one and it makes getting the oil cap on and off oil much easier.

You're always fun to watch. Your new jack made me think of how tools have changed since my days of making mistakes and trying to figure it all out, you know having fun. I'm 76 years old and a lot of the tools I used made the job easier than it was for those who lived before me. Anyway, it made me think of the future and with AI I think the do-it-yourselfer will have a tool that you push a button and it'll do all the work while you sit back and have a cup of coffee and watch. lol
thanks for the discount on the Vevor air jack, I just ordered one....
From start to end…it was like white noise in my head, but enjoyable to watch! 😂👍🏻
Quite, knowledgeable Trent
good man for taking the time to really think about your job at hand and how you can make it happen after thinking it out. Mark many times weld one time, taking your time.🤙
Thanks for explaining the steering on rock crawlers, I always wondered what was different than the regular hydraulic steering, Trent gave me the answer, the sway bar and steering knuckle are tied together.
Hey there Trent. New subscriber here. I really enjoyed this starting video for your Trent's Garage series. I'm always on the lookout for quality content creators to help me keep my mind off of my renal cell carcinoma. I was first diagnosed in 2018 and just recently received a stage 4 diagnosis. I want to thank you for your content and in helping me keeping my head out of the depression well. P.S. My Sweetheart has been watching you and your family since Vanlife, so she sort of introduced me to you folks as I sometimes watched the progress of your house and garage building.

@@cornypinkuni9519 Thank you so much for your kind response. Rough ride is an understatement, especially when the renal cell carcinoma jumped into my liver. At this point it's no joke being nauseous each and every day and vomiting multiple times within a single day really sucks.

@@cornypinkuni9519 No timeline has been given. My previous oncologist pretty much felt it was terminal. I have a new oncologist, that actually specializes in kidney cancer, whom feels I have many options before me and does not think I have reached the end of the line. As for the vomiting, I can only do what I have been doing with the anti-nausea medications. Once the renal cell carcinoma jumped into the liver, the liver creates these cancer lesions which produces the nausea.
Thanks!

Fun fact. The hydro cylinder doesn't have to be centered as long as you have enough stroke for full deflection the tie rods will make up the difference

they were probably built in Mexico like so many header company's. Our comp headers require two collectors on each side, and are made from stainless steel mandrel bends. Reversion headers.
Careful with air jack and weld spatter
I think you need to get yourself a MAG drill to drill those holes so you get them in right and not tried doing it by hand all right this is Bob from Vero Beach Florida God bless say say have a great week and can't wait for your you and alleys next video okay

What? They're 50/50 on everything. If Allie is cut on anything then I'm going to kick Trent's asshole and do some damage on him. They are KZreadrs and participate in van renovations. This channel I'm certain Allie is editing it and doing the footage . Trent's willing to build etc is his thing and he f's up all the time. You don't put a thousand screws in a single sheet of drywall. Doing everything on his own not only saves them $ but it's more content to make videos and make bank on YT payouts. Allie wears the pants in the family. Don't be fooled. She just still pretends she doesn't.

For tapping stud holes you need a "bottom tap" it has no taper on the lead in, you can start your threads with a taper tap though. you're doing fine on your build.
Let Leo at the axle and if it survives it will work!!!! lol

Trent following you guys everywhere. Like this new channel also. Hey speaking of following, maybe you should think of putting casters on your work table. Could that also double as your engine platform so you can lower cab and frame onto it? Just wondering if thst will work.
i like sea you work very interresting i am watching you
you will break things you don't think will brake and have lots of down time, but look at it this way, your welding will really improve.
I've seen that jack and want it. My only issue is I don't wrench on vehicles and stuff as much as I used to. So I'm struggling trying to justify buying it. But I really really want one

Paint the metal with flux, and it will keep it from rusting until you’re ready to tack it on, and you won’t even have to clean off the flux unless it’s dirty with dust.

Normally when you go cheap on headers, you pay for it on the back side. Get a good pair.

The headers will be just fine. In this context the adjective “cheap” is more about cost than quality. What is good enough to do the job was the objective. And, I have enough respect for Trent’s skill to believe he knows what that is.
😁
Trent, so you require a special oil system when tackling the steep slopes. Will it drain the sump, and lose lubrication?
Wouldn’t that be Hydraulic steering? Hydro would be water powered. 😁 Thus f try on a guy that has worked on hydraulic systems many years. Quite the project you are tackling. Can’t wait to see it in action. 😊
Hi Trent. Not trying to be a ass. I would of used anti- sieze on exhaust studs instead of lock tight. Maybe that's just me though. You're doing a great job job

I put lock tight on the stud going into the head, not on the nut holding the headers on.

Question on the air jack - is there a safety to keep if from lowering when you're underneath the vehicle?
@Trents.garage

You have to open the valve to lower it, just like a regular jack.
just buy some weld through primer from the store or online!!!!
Ummm didnt you have one stud/nut in the intake manifold that you need t get the right one??? Maybe I'm thinking of the oil pan but I could have sworn something was no exactly kosher on the intake. But I could be wrong.
I'm not through the video but I have a question. Do you put boots on each side of the ram like on a dirt bike?
the rig that your building will require some sort of repair, from minor to very major every time you take it out in the wild.
