I think it’s an evitable with Leo, especially with Trent as his daddy that he’s going to love dirt bikes, go karts, snowmobile’s and cool trucks☺️

Just a few suggestions, before worrying about the motor mounts, remove the body and start with everything on the ground. It might be better to construct the entire drive train so you can adjust the frame around the front & rear drive shaft angles. Then the only obstacles will be the location and routing of steering, exhaust & body mounts. Make a mark on the cross brace in the center of the frame to measure to all of the body mounts in the X & Y axis from that central mark on the frame once you adjust the location of the body to allow for the steering and exhaust clearances.

I have gone through what your doing before and commend you for how far you have made it... a few suggestions; one is to facebook Rory from trail mater or how ever he spells his truck and channel name. I am positive you know this person someway or other. One other idea is to now tack the frame rails you have under the rig so they hold their position.... then remove the cab and get stuff on the ground where its much easier to make these decisions and do the adjustments necessary for a system that is not going to fight you down the road. This way would allow you to make all of your engine mounts, and do the front axle install so its a known trajectory on the front driveshaft for the front axle. The mounts for the cab are primarily in the right place.... you also know that nothing is really set in stone till its all done and said.... good luck young man. I did not see you getting this far but think now your real close. No harm or fowl getting some support from guys who love this sport. I think Rory would appreciate your reaching out to him as he has to haul rigs out constantly that were done wrong and failed on the course.

I agree with a lot of the comments about bracing the frame then taking the cab off once u You have the firewall clearance to engine, then build it on the floor , but I’m pretty sure you are probably planning to do that and we all are just commenting prematurely 😂😂 I can’t wait to see all your progress this winter after you get the house addition done😂 Keep the videos coming!

Watching this entire process reminds me of back in the day when I did nearly all of my maintenance on all of our cars. What I see happening is Trent is reading from a Chilton manual minimalist set of instructions to piece everything together versus using a Haynes manual that has "see-spot-run" types of instructions with lots of pictures. Color me old fashioned, but I will take a Haynes manual any day of the week. It's a shame nobody has a KZread video on what you are doing to Murphyproof the process. In the end I know you will succeed since you have the right frame of mind on problem solving.

Best way to learn is to try and continue to try/troubleshoot, watch a KZread video and go back to retry. I say this as someone who had to watch 5 KZread videos to change a headlight bulb not once but 3 times in a vehicle. Why so many times? Ford forces you to go to their service centers otherwise. What I discovered is the wiring harness was bad, needed to replace it and now the light has lasted 3 years. Great Job Gentlemen.

I also have the Atlas 4 speed t case. You said you have 2 low ranges, you actually have 3 low ranges. Double shifters in high range,range bx in high range=1:1 high range shift range box in low range=1st low range Shift range box into high range, shift double shifters into low range=2nd low range shift double shifter in low range, shift range box into low range = 3rd low range You are gonna wanna clock the t=case up at least one more hole, maybe 2 more. Run you t case as flat as you can as long as drive shaft doesn't bind, and there isn't any interference with the trans and drive shaft. This will give you more clearance on belly an easier shifter mount for your range box

Love the build Trent and will understand if you skip some weeks when you are building the addition on the house. As have all winter to finish the build.

A little tip. After installing the delrin bushings in my shift levers I ran a drill bit of same diameter as the bolt through them. Shifters move so much freer.

Just watched . Trent this is your fix. Your worried about the , motor and transmission, become, back heavy. (( dude )) , weld , 2 , big washers on the truck frame right at where the end of transmission, is going to screw with you. Make, a strap, harness, from frame to frame, let it hang low, then ratchet the strap, up to hold the transmission. Or use, heavy , tie wire, frame to frame, and twist it tight, when your down. You cut the attachment point off... good luck.

I need me one of them transfer cases for the Willys…….

My guess is the roll cage and exoskeleton which will be added later will take care of the flex.

It will be tied in to multiple other points on the front end cage. Also the frame rails will be beefed up and reinforced.

You need an elevated tranny jack to use with your hoist.

? Wouldn't be better to use a brass or otherwise less damaging hammer when beating seal surface areas or sensitive tolerance surfaces

Trent your engine frame rail is is too weak for what you wanting to do with your truck you may want to bend a set lower pipes and weld them end ,and some ladder rail stiffeners it might add 20 lbs to the frame but it will triple the ability of your frame to handle the tress that you will putting the engine and frame 👍.

These frame rails are just the starting point until I start reinforcing and adding to the front end of the frame

Actually, you got a LOT done. The stuff you completed just takes time and thought, that's all. It all had to be done to get to the next step.

When it comes to engine, by explaining what you intend to do will it educate your viewers? please take note that when you choose the tool, the size of the bolts or nuts used, your viewers will not end up a perfect mechanic?

Just those two pieces of tubing are in no way going to be strong enough for the front section of that frame ... Just not gonna happen

They’re just the first 2 pieces. Many pieces will tie together to create an intricate cage/front end.

Really Trent, rather than explaining what you are going to do in detail, just get to it. For example, “I’m going to install the engine” and then get to it. Show by doing not explaining. Too much time wasted and nothing happening. 😏

It would be a lot more enjoyable if you did less talking about what you don't know about and just did it it's obvious you don't know what you doing half the time
