Thank you for video, I just purchased a NH WM25S, think it is extremely similar to yours. The name tags are changed to protect the innocent. I have purchased a thumb, it is off a 35 horsepower NH, so my application may be different, but I figure it is better to avoid ambushes, than to fight your way out off one. I read your informative comments, and plan to avoid the easy route, quietly traverse the terrain, with the safety off my M14 (that dates me, the were new when I got mine). Anyway, back to the grateful thanks, video was nicely delivered. Respectfully submitted

Nicely done. I did the same to my tractor. You made better shims. Have fun with your tractor and thanks for sharing. 39 views and only 1 like, come on watchers, it take time and effort to make these videos. At least you can do is to press that like button. and if you press the dislike button tell him why!

Thanks! I’ve come to the point if someone truly likes the videos they will like it if not oh well. It would be nice and would give me more motivation to make more videos.

How is the thumb working out after 3 years? Have you had any trouble with it slipping on the dipper/stick? Any situations where you've had to remove it? Any abnormal wear of the components or bolts? Thanks

@@raouliii it’s still working great. I did have an issue with it sliding. I’ve since welded the bracket to the dipper. I did have to trim more of the bracket to gain more clearance between that and the cylinder for the bucket. Overall I’m still extremely pleased with the thumb. I haven’t noticed any abnormal wear on any mechanical components besides it bumping the cylinder when it slid “trimmed the top of the bracket” a few minor modifications and it would be better (extend the claw on the thumb to make it longer to make full contact with the bucket teeth and a tether for the linchpin. I’ve lost a few linch pins when clearing brush and building demos. I definitely recommend the thumb.

I just bought this.. do you have to use shims or by tighting the bolts will it bend to fit frame? I have no way of cutting shims

If you have a angle grinder and some 1/4” flat stock that will work for shims. The plate on the thumb bracket it’s probably 1/2” thick so it’s going to be a bear to bend.

How wide is your dipper boom and how wide is the bracket? My dipper boom is 4 inches wide. Will it work?

I’d have to measure it again I don’t remember. I did have to add 1/4” shims on each side and top and bottom. Ended up welding the thumb bracket to the boom the clamps weren’t strong enough to keep it from sliding.

How has it been working for you. I was thinking of getting one now that they are back in stock. I have the same tractor you do.

It’s been great. Only issue I have ran into is the claws on the thumb are about 2 inches too short to line up with the tip of the teeth on the bucket other than that it’s great!

Ok thanks. So it’s a worth while purchase. Would you recommend welding a 2 in extension on the the end of the claw

Also I’m assuming the backhoe isn’t powerful enough to damage the thumb or the backhoe since the thumb is too short.

@@joshwolfe6695 basically. I have a 16” bucket on mine with the thumb out low as it will go it comes to the middle of the tooth shank. It still works fine for logs I just want the thumb to be at the tip of the teeth for doing more precise work

@@ThePrepper14 so I can’t find any contact info on your page so anyway line the bracket up to the boom there’s a u plate that will rest on the boom the holes will line up with a shim. You will have to notch the highest point on the bracket so it won’t hit the cylinder “it will hit if not trimmed” if your putting a lot of stress on the thumb it will slide so I highly recommend welding it to the boom over clamping it but it will work just clamping it on.
