*UPDATE* I recently switch my backup camera to a different brand called Haloview. I have found it has a better picture than the Tadibrothers and also records video footage onto an SD card. I have a Tadi Brothers camera system on my horse trailer and it is junk. I would not recommend a camera from them.

Hi Ray. Great product by Tadi Brothers. We have been using this product for about 4 years now for our horse trailer (it has two cameras). 1 for inside to keep an eye on the horses as we travel and the second one as the backup (same as yours) which is great when you are trying to change lanes with a long rig. It has provided the extra set of eyes to see if there are cars coming up quickly behind us, etc. Only issue has been when in or driving through an area with lots of electrical interference it can get a little snowy on the monitor screen. Just a bit of advice -- I mount many backup camera systems on assorted work trucks / machinery. Most cameras have a wide enough view that the most useful coverage is given by mounting the camera on the back face of the vehicle, not the top. This way, you can angle it down enough to see the very back of the vehicle in the bottom of the screen while still getting very good coverage to the rear. In taller vehicles, this view is usually far enough back that there are no blind areas between side view mirrors and the camera view. It also makes it possible to back the vehicle right up to an obstacle without risking hitting it when that item gets lost in the dead area not covered by top mount. Face mount also make it much less likely for a tree branch to sweep over the roof and hit the camera and knock it outta whack or damage it.

Thanks for the advice. good to know. I went with the top mounting for a two reasons. 1) the primary use will be a rear looking camera to monitor traffic, I will be able to see over vehicles and further back. For backing up, I have my wife as a spotter and we have 5 years of experience as a team so are pretty good there. 2) The back wall of the fifth wheel is very thin and flexible so I figured it could cause a lot of vibration in the camera during travel, whereas the top frame rail is quite rigid. The display is capable of multiple cameras so I may in the future add a second for a lower viewpoint. Cheers Ray

Ray, great review of TadiBrothers! We use them on our 42ft 5ver and love it as a rear view mirror! But a huge piece of advice, keep your antennas pointed in the same orientation (pointed up) to give the best possible picture! If one is bent at a 90° orientation while making a turn, you could lose the image due to the radiation pattern the antenna produce. Happy trails!

Thanks, So far I've done one test for distance by driving the truck away from the trailer and was pretty impressed with how long the signal lasted. It was still showing even a hundred yards away with trees around. It'll get a more through test though as we head south soon, lots of highway driving coming up. Cheers Ray

I just came across your channel with an OLD/OLD video. I am now looking through your channel and you have great content. But I am interested in how Tadi Brothers cameras performed overtime. They now have an upgraded system to the one you installed 7 years ago but I want to see if there products overall have stood up and the wireless cameras in particular performed without the picture going in and out. I now see you have Haloview products but for now I am leaning towards TadiBrothers.

I found the Haloview picture and signal quality better, and it could record. So, I switched to using and reviewing them and haven't looked back. Some people also told me that Tadibrothers support didn't treat them very well, but that was seven years ago. Things may have changed. Recently, they have been after me to review their newer system; maybe I will at some point. Let me know how out it goes with your installation. Cheers, Ray

I'll make a note to test. I doubt I'll be using them at the same time, so wasn't worried but it is worth checking for others that might.

I Purchased the TadiBrothers rv wireless camera in January...what a mistake! Initial package came with lots of "stuff" no instructions. Called about the install they indicated I should have ordered the Digital Wireless unit which they swapped at no extra charge. Received the digital wireless in a matter of a few days. I then adopted the existing Furrion housing and wiring to my use. The kit did not come with mounting hardware for the 7" monitor. I adapted a cell phone adapter for the monitor. I also purchased the TadiBrothers Furrion adapter for $29 and which did not work. My next step was to then built an adapter from the lid of an electronic project box that I had. Once I had the camera installed it worked fine except that the camera kept losing signal. My Vlite is 35 feet to the hitch. As I felt it could be electrical I disassembled the install and double checked all connections (used dielectric grease on all connections btw). I then reinstalled the camera and sealed the install adapter with OSI clear Gutter Premium Sealer, which is an amazing product for small jobs. During this time frame we experience torrential rains in our area. First clear weekend we hauled to a campground about 15 miles from our home. The camera was fogged. I double checked and found that that glass window on the camera was not sealed properly to the metal housing from the factory! I disassemble the camera install, yet again, and siliconed the area between the glass and the housing which solved the fogging and water penetration to the camera issue. I hauled to an area camp site and yet again the camera began periodically losing signal. Frustrated, I left a message with TadiBrothers explaining the issue. Three days later, on a Saturday morning I received a call back. The conversation was not at all supportive other than to ground the wire to the chassis. This weekend rather than using the Furrion wiring provided on the coach I will re-position the camera after finding a frame component. My takeaway of TadiBrothers is that they severely lack product quality control, their install customer support is a total frustration, and their aftermarket customer support is dismal. Several questions most of which I won't review here but when I did speak with the support tech at TadiBrothers his response to ground the wiring to the chassis at second thought, stunned me. Why would TadiBrothers sell me a $29 adapter for the Furrion pre-wired adapter and NOT inform me that their pre-installed wiring was not adequate? These guys are highly questionable in their business dealings. Let the buyer beware.

Here was my review update after using the camera for an extended length of time - kzread.info/dash/bejne/gZ2bzZSQeNHYhtY.html After 2 years of use I have replaced with a new camera from a company called Haloview and picture is better, records video and has had pretty well zero disconnects. www.loveyourrv.com/haloview-wireless-rv-backup-camera-review/ Though, another guy I know had issues with his disconnecting and needed to install an extender antenna to make it work right. The company said it could be his diesel engines electronics interfering. Seems these companies sell the products but by not installing them and selling to a wide range of RVs can't guarantee they will work being they are a wireless signal subject to interference from all sort of possible sources. Tadibrothers should have offered a complete refund when they couldn't get yours to work right. Ray

@@LoveYourRV Hi Ray, thanks for your input. I have a Dodge Ram Hemi btw. I offered to purchase the antenna booster but the tech interrupted me and told me to mount the negative wire to the chassis. I very nearly went with the Haloview camera as it provided many upgraded features that the TadiBrothers charged extra for such as HD and video recording, buyers remorse Love your work btw. I recently purchased the Eez TPMS system your reviewed. I've gotten something you can't buy with the monitor system on the tires...piece of mind. One less thing to think about . Thanks again

I just bought a 31 ft. Minnie Winnie Class C this fall and do not have a back up camera. Will be interesting to see how it performs. For something that is wireless, it certainly has a lot of wiring to it! Will it work if you have no cell service and no Wifi? That would make a difference for boondocking. Thanks for the great video, Ray. I am not as good with electricity as you are, but suppose I could get someone to help me with it. Travel safe!

I think it is 720P HD and no recording, but I believe it has 1 way sound.

hi Ray, it's been a year since your review of the backup camera, what's going on with it? I haven't heard you mention it in any of you videos since. I was just checking to see if it's still being used? Feel free to respond to my questions by email if you like. I ve been watching your videos as soon as they appear on my list. It's work well for us. I used it for our 6 months traveling last winter, no problems, loved it as a rear view mirror. Very good in heavy rain gave me a fairly clear view compared to my mirrors. We've spent 4 1/2 months stationary so didn't use it but moved the trailer 2 weeks ago and it was still working fine. I wish the picture was a little clearer but it does the job. Cheers! Ray

I bought the Tadi Brothers SKU #90121 there best model today. I have a small narrow boat that I pull behind my 30ft Motorhome. Launching is tough when you cannot see it backing up until it pops into view on the side going hard L or R then its to late. This should help.

Hello Ray, I will be Installing this weekend. In winter weather did you have any fogging on the camera lens. As I was viewing more videos from TB's they said they have heated cameras, thats where I got this idea of fogging

I can't say I've used it in winter weather, since I snowbird in the winter, but have used it in very wet and cool weather on the Oregon coast with no problems camera stayed clear.

Let me know how your connectivity is with your camera. I ended up putting the larger ant about mid way on my rig for a stronger signal to the monitor. Otherwise I would loose signal occasionally...Our rig is about the same size as yours.

Awesome and useful video! I've wanted to put some sort of camera on the back of my 34' Rockwood camping trailer for some time, now. Instead of drilling into my rig, however, could I just splice into the power lines into the middle light on my rig? (I'm also intrigued by your cell phone booster...you'll have to let us know if it works well.)

I was under the impression that you couldn't run a back-up camera full-time, i.e to monitor rear traffic. Will be anxious to see what happens after a long trip.

I decided I didn't need the option, but if someone wants to have the camera come on when shifting to reverse that wire can be connected to the reverse lights wire under the dash I imagine.

Love Your RV Hi Ray, so if you dont use the green wire do you just leave it hanging there? Also mine came with a yellow av on both monitor and camera what are they for? On the cam. One is it to hook up a 2nd. Cam if wanted? Please help...lol we just got ours yesterday and had no install instructions... well it did but the pics dont explain or show the yellow av's or the green wire. We dont want to hook up to turn on when we back up only we want it to just stay on while fulltime driving.

Do you know if this system is capable of using my stock screen on my truck. I don't want that massive screen mounted in the cab of my truck. I have a 2016 GMC

Dont trust it for backing up though. Youre missing lots of visual right behind your bumper. You could aim the camera down though for that. Then when travelling aim the camera up for tailgaters. I have my camera on top of my 20 ft. motorhome and trusted it too much. I ended up backing into a car on the out of sight extreme left bumper even with my camera down.

You should really use strain relief cord connectors www.homedepot.com/p/Halex-3-4-in-ACC-Non-Metallic-Strain-Relief-Cord-Connector-27697/202077092 for comming into the jbox instead of the romex connector. I've done it this way and just cut the end off the camera and just hardwire it in. Romex connectors will not prevent water.

It sure does, but personally i would have no problem using it outdoor (and have). It does say indoor use but it has a rubber grommet on the throat, and is made of plastic. For me they're a good solution but i guess they're not rated for it. Thanks for the info.

hey bud those cell repeaters will roast your brain and your nutz. ever think about the radiation waves you are putting out right above your head? for all the holes and cutting you did on your rig i think a wired system is better.

The camera uses the same 2.4Ghz frequency as a cordless phone or home internet router. So if you use a cordless home phone, you are putting the same type signal right beside your head or have a laptop right beside your nuts.
