Its just curb to house only for me. I dont have to much knowledge of fiber. I had 1 day of training, like 2 jobs. I might be 11 months in now. My 18 years are all coax which might be around 15,000 houses/customers.

If you come to my house the install is super easy. I have 1/2 armored conduit with pull rope from service road to my office. The conduit is 10ft deep incased in 2ftx2ft concrete with sheets of 3/8 steel on both sides all the way to my house. The casement i made has 3 3/4 and 3 1/2 conduit pipes for future needs. This way i never have to be worried about it getting damaged by anything or anyone!

Same goes for me. I installed conduit to the perimeter of my yard when I heard fiber was going to installed. No shallow buried fiber at my home. Although I have to say, the 2x2 ft concrete is a bit overkill for armoring :D If you ran the pipes inside a larger diameter pipe it would have been sufficiently armored. But in the end, stupid is gonna stupid. If some daft contractor wants to destroy your cable, he will find a way

yep here in the uk they put ours in the lawn i dug through the cable then they had to come fix it and had the common sense to put it in conduit

I don't think the guy who installed mine had a shovel. (or a clue) The grass pushed it up within a few weeks, my mower found it before I spotted it. The 2 foot wide hole, half filled with gravel and surrounded by 4 t-posts and snow fence was also a nice ornament for my front lawn for 4 months before I had to clean it up myself. "We'll be there next week" got old after a while. To top it off, they cut my cable line while they were digging the hole, said nothing and disconnected it from the house box. The cable guy was very confused when he showed up for my "no internet" service call.

Now I know why Victory Outdoor Service (here on YT) digs up cables all the time when he does concrete patios. Just putting it under the turf is a biiiig nono here in Austria. 40cm is a minimum.

yeah right? I've opened this video because I was going to ask why the hell they put cables and fibers 2cm under the ground lol no conduit nothing just bare cables on the ground and some sand sprinkled over it. no offense of course just funny

The guy who did mine did such a poor job the grass pushed it up and I got it with my lawnmower. I don't use it, so I don't really care.

the company that did my fiber put a jack on the wall... i have a fiber cable from my ONT which is just a calix gigaspire with an SFP in it to the jack in the wall

Why would someone need dual fiber?

e.g. in germany u get two fibers for each customers in case one gets damaged.

no proper dowels and those arent leveled... meh.
