    Noah, I recommend first measuring the size of your tailgate before ordering a light bar. We currently have two different types of light bars for both 60" and 49" lengths, red and red with white reverse signals. If the 60" light bar will fit on your truck then I definitely recommend that one, but if not, you can't go wrong with the 49". Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns about the light bar!

    Brandon, we made this video to show how easy it is to install the tail gate light bar with the included plug. If you want to hard wire the light bar rather than using the plug, you can absolutely install it that way.

  • @WeBleedGreen1
    @WeBleedGreen112 жыл бұрын

    i think you may be able to hard wire it into the existing 3rd brake light wiring, that way, you can also have a light that turns on when the door opens...

  • @AllSeeingAye
    @AllSeeingAye12 жыл бұрын

    If you're going to hard wire at all, might as well hard wire the whole thing. Also: it's easier to splice right into the 7-wire trailer hookup on the left than snaking it up into the taillight like that. One last thing: Always get someone to help you with your tailgate. I don't care how strong you are. Those things can be slippery, and not something you want to drop unless you own a body shop.

    yea i might do that too, how is it holding up? So all you did was put on the 3m and then it sticks on the tailgate? I dont feel like drilling on my truck either even if its the tailgate in case if sometime i wanna remove the lightbar.

    If your truck doesn't have a flat 4 pin connection, all's you'll need to do is splice the wires from the light bar to your truck's signal wires. This will give your truck a secure, hard-wired connection. If you have any other questions just ask!

    LEDGlow - Nice video / product. IF you remake this video for an update, I would consider showing a test of the reverse lights in the dark as well, with everything buttoned up (was missing from this final test). It would be great to see what it looks like from the cab direction, too, looking back to see how much reverse lighting it adds to the picture. Maybe even a before and after option to show the difference. I personally never liked cutting into and splicing OEM wiring as it is always a place for failure with rust and moisture. Electrical tape is a poor protector w/o some dielectric or other moisture barrier or shrink tube I believe there are products out there that would allow the merger at the actual light socket (pin insert or something), but that's something I would like to see for my install. Just sayin ... your mileage may vary. Electrons were probably killed in the filming of this video. The lawyers made me do it.

    My 1997 Dodge Dakota doesn't have a lip between the bumper and tail gate, meaning there is no place for me to mount this product as shown in the video. Are there other alternatives for mounting this product, or is it simply not designed for my truck?

  • @ledglow

    @ledglow

    8 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for the interest in our product! The tailgate bars need about an inch or so of clearance in order to be able to fit between the tailgate and bumper. If there is not that much space, then unfortunately, the tailgate bars will not work with your vehicle.

    There should be a lip under the tailgate to mount the light bar so just verify that before we come up with another mounting solution. Also, if you don't have a plug port, you can wire the light bar directly into the rear tail lights. Let me know about the spot under the tailgate! If you have any other questions just ask!
