Yeah my boot camp crashes after continue I’ve tried everything , from restarting my iMac to restoring it to an older backup nothing works. Do you have any suggestions to some things I can do?

So I've been trying to install Windows 7 on a 2012 MacBook Pro that got the Optical Drive removed. So it was a pain. I tried many, many tutorials on video and on forums. I'm only halfway with this one but I'm making good progress. I can't thank you enough for not only showing what to do, but explaining what and why are we doing it. I managed to solve a couple problems on the way thanks to that. I hope this is the one tutorial that can help me! Thanks A LOT!

My Macbook Pro 8.1 says the "permissions" are still LOCKED. even after doing the csrutil step in terminal. I noticed in your video when you right clicked for "get Info" that the "locked" option was available to be checked or unchecked under the general drop down section. where on mine it is still faded out and unable to be changed.. Why is that? Thanks..

Is the external disk where the ISO is stored temporarily or do you always need to have it connected?

For the people getting “we couldn’t create a new partition or locate an existing one”, might try to disconnect all hdd on the mac (except the one that you are using for the windows installation). I have a MacBook Pro with and HDD and SSD and worked for me!

Hell yes thank you guys. I've being trying to do this for two days now, without success. Finally it worked. FYI My info.plist file didn't have the line "DARequiredRomVersions" in it. I just added it with X-Code in the order I saw in your picture, with an array and then added my boot rom version there on a string. wow. Thank you.

If Its formated to ms dos change it to exfat. If not change exfat to ms dos

@@anthonyputrus1125 go to application then utilities and then launch disk utility. Select your usb and select the erase option in the left of the bar at top and then chose exfat or ms dos. Keep in mind that everything on your usb will be erased

hi, your video is the most detailed I found, you go really in deep and I like that. So since you're so expert could you help me with a problem I had with my macbook pro 2014? i really can't find any solution.. Basically I had to remove the battery because was swollen, the problem is that apple doens't do original battery for that anymore and when I bought another compatible I had problem with that, so now I can only use macbook with the power supply. Unfortunately if you use macbook pro without battery apple OSX reduces CPU by half and now I have a really slow mac. Can you tell me if there is a way to solve this? I can't do the things I did before with it and now I can't afford a new computer...

I have a MacBook 2.1 (Mid 2007) in front of me. The processor is 64bit, yet Apple is claiming it doesn't support x64 Windows, going to guess this is due to the 32-bit EFI ROM they used in these models. Is there a way around this?

When changing the permissions for the bootcamp folder, I disabled my SIP and even double checked that it was disabled in my system report under software, it still said that "This operation cannot be completed because you do not have the neccessary permission" is there anything else I can try, I am absolutely positive that the SIP is disabled.

You can copy the bootcamp application from finder to desktop and since it is a copy, it will let you modify the files, even with SIP on.

This method assumes you have a backup partition that has a fairly recent version of OSX. In order to do this on older systems, you need to press CMD+OPTION+R to get into the latest version of Mac Internet Recovery (you may have to be connected via ethernet for this to work). I have a late 2011 Macbook Pro and CMD R wasn't working as it was utilizing the original OS internet recovery (I don't have a recovery partition).

Hi did you finally manage to install windows?

When installing a blue screen shows up saying "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED". at the bottom it said the problem was AppleSSD.sys and I googled all the solutions but none of them work. Please help, I'm using macOS Mojave on a mac (late 2015). Macbook 8,1

Try turning your mac off then on again when it does that hold the option or alt key then if that doesent work there are some issues with with the flash

Never mind, found the solution in your other video: Change "PreUSBBootSupportedModels" to "USBBootSupportedModels" and add your model under that key. Doing that and removing my model from the preWin10 list did the trick!

@techpocket I do have a win iso on usb drive but it does not show up when restarting+ alt I have tried different USB drive, different ISO files, differnet way to put it on the drive (with Bootcamp and WITHOUT bootcamp -> sudo dd if = yourpath/yourwindows.iso of= yourdrive) Btw I don't have those lines in my .plist PS : I am on Mac book pro retina mid-2014 -High sierra 10.13.3

I'm using Late 2011 MBP, With the Error message: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table" , I'd like to keep my MacOS partition, I don't want to just delete the whole disk and convert to GPT, cause I have a lot of stuff under my MacOS. Will it work on imac version 10.10.5? My friend have there BootCamp assistant that have only 2 options to download windows drivers and download windows 7 but it is giving error when trying to download windows 7. Also windows drivers can be saved only on pendrive which was formatted (erased) on that imac. Looks like it only accepts windows 7 on dvd. I want to unlock BootCamp option to install windows 10 from .iso file.

When I go to boot camp it will not allow me to click continue. I click on continue and then nothing happens. If I go to “actions” and click install windows support software, it gets an error saying "windows support software could not be saved to the selected drive” PLEASE HELP!!

The installation goes fine and when I install the bootcamp drivers, after installation it asks me to restart. After restart the windows icon shows and it loads but then I see a black screen and it stays like that. How do I fix?

I had that problem too. I guess it is related to so called metal graphics card on High Sierra for my Mac Pro 2009. I am looking for ways too. Please share when you overcome this. Thanks

Same thing here.

Clicking on system report from about this mac then going to hardware, you get the model identifier. No internet needed!

After all these years Mac always been ahead of its time for user friendly.

I've tried so many methods on my MacBook Pro 15" Unibody A1286 (Early 2011) and nothing seems to work, I even bought windows 8.1 key for the installation to get to the finalisation and say "Windows Could not update boot config", any tips? It's a good tutorial but could have been improved and made more understandable. 1) You don't tell the viewers/users the commands used in the description. 2) You don't zoom in enough so people could at least read what you were doing, 3) You click too fast too quick, you should never assume that everyone knows what you are doing. 4) and last, you speak too fast, and the sound is muffled. When you make a tutorial you have to assume that people haven't got a clue so you need to take it one step at a time and give them time to follow. But as I said overall it's a great tutorial. Thanks, this is a constructive criticism not personal

How do I install the NVidia drivers? It crashes during install and now the GPU section in device manager isn't there and nothing shows up in GPU-Z. I also tried the non-Bootcamp drivers and when I pressed agree and continue it crashes. I also have TES Oblivion to test and it only has the option to use the Microsoft Basic Renderer Driver. Please help.

I think thats no problem. You only need the flash drive for the installation. It will create a partition on your hdd/ssd

so it doesn't always work it says i need an installation disc for windows

Once i finish the installation and instal drivers, i restart the computer and it won't boot, i loads a couple of seconds then turns off, after some restarts it gives me the option to restore and it works again, after another reset it won't boot :/ i'm on a infinite loop, anyone knows a fix?
