I agree with this one, at least IG2 is more faithful to the source material than the first movie and hits *slightly* more bulls-eyes with its attempted comedy, and Stewart is a better choice for Gadget. He also has called The Polar Express movie cliched, the Miley Cyrus song Wrecking Ball a "great song", the Robert Zemeckis Christmas Carol film "not faithful" to the other adaptations and kid shows being better now than how they were years ago (when we have pieces of shit modern cartoons like Teen Titans Go).

French Stewart replaced Matthew Broderick, and the rest was okay. This was from 2003, and DIC got out of Disney, but if you've seen the "Rise and Fall of DIC", it's a documentary about the history of an underrated animation studio, it was put out by "SCMediaWorks" and he does a great job showcased the history of DIC. You should check it out.

The scene where Gadget and G2 swap chips is a huge continuity error, because in the first film, Claw *KILLED* Gadget by destroying his chip, but Brenda managed to bring Gadget back to life with the power of love. So, I guess they don't die without the chip now?

Easy fix, and I think I mentioned it somewhere else on YT: With the sudden shock of coming back to life, he was running on adrenaline for a while. After things started to calm down a little, not having the NSA chip to take some of the load off of him caused him to go a little doolally. Baxter gave him the control chips to take the place of the missing NSA chip as a stopgap measure, but these lost their effectiveness over time. As for G2, this version of Chief Quimby HATES Gadget, and would rather have something new than keep updating what he's got, purely as a slap to Gadget's face.

I can see Doug not liking him in certain roles, Inspector Gadget was horrible and Godzilla wasn't any better, but he has been in several movies where I think he did a good job. Ferris Buellers Day Off, Wargames, Project X, Max Dugan Returns, Biloxy Blues, The Producers... I haven't seen all of his movies but what I have seen I like him more than not.

Every day in December 2013, he would do a review of a Disney Live Action Film PLUS a second, shorter video that talks about any sequel or remakes related to the film of the day. This year's Disneycember was more about the Direct-to-video sequels from Disney's lesser known, Animation Department, Disney Toons Studios!

A word on why a lot of the people in the movie talk weird. The movie was actually filmed in Queensland, Australia (why I have no clue), but with the exception of the actors for Gadget, G2, Penny and the voices of Brain and Gadgetmobile, all the other actors were Australian. Try having an Aussie talk with an American accent and it will always sound off. It still doesn't excuse the bad direction. Speaking of which, the scientist guy is the Gyro Captain from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior

If I remember correctly, this movie is basically a feature length version of one of the episodes of the original cartoon. They do change a few things (in the original episode Gadget's replacement was male and more similar to something like The Terminator), and they obviously try to stretch the story out, but there are scenes that are taken directly from that episode and remade in live action.

Not only that but the furst film shared the exact same premise as an episode of the show where Claw makes a fully robotic version of "Inspector Gadget" as a means to frame the real Gadget. The only difference is in the episode, that Claw doesn't kidnap the actual Gadget and kill him.

Yeah same here, don't get me wrong...the first one was bad, but it was at least funny. I actually wanted to see what happened after Gadget hooked up with Brinda and found some of the jokes pretty clever. One of my personal faves was when Evil Gadget was attacking the city and some Asian man said. "This is why I left Tokyo!!!" That's funny and the overall plot wasn't done too badly either. It just suffered from bad acting and some miss-direction. This, on the other hand, is just a mess...first off, why isn't Brinda in it? She kind of was a pretty big part of the first movie folks...second, the animation is really bad, I mean I know it's straight to DVD so lower budget...but come on guys...

Hell he even watched the 1st movie with Broderick with me. But as soon as we watched the sequel he actually growled at the movie till I switched back to the Broderick version. Even my parents laughed at it. So after we cremated him I put the VHS copy right under him.

I really, really loved this film as a kid. I mean really loved it. It made me want to *be* Inspector Gadget and I have vivid memories of wanting to be him so bad that I dreamed I had his powers. It may just be because it was always on the Disney Channel when it first released and I just watched it to death, but I have really fond memories of this film. For me its that one stupid film that every one has that they just love, regardless of how 'bad' it really is... And I refuse to ever watch it again because I know i'll probably hate it now I have taste and ruin my childhood. Its to precious to me to lose.
