The best way to describe Insomnium would be to call it "poets with metal riffs"

The way the lady reacts is basically a personification of what happens inside your body when you listen to something like Insomnium while truly feeling what the band is all about.

Ahh, thank you so much for reacting to Insomnium! Love them! ❤ "My Pale Morning Star" (lyric video) from their album "Heart Like a Grave" (2019) is the saddest, most beautiful song which makes you feel warm inside and love the whole world. A true masterpiece.

Cheers from Joensuu, Finland! Much respect to Dr. Metal, it warms my heart to hear about her. Imho, sounding more 'mainstream' shouldn't have such negative connotation to it; I consider making music a bit more accessible for the members of the general public who are curious about the various virtues of metal music a pretty great development. That also opens doors for more creativity and eclectism, not having to compete in 'heaviness' or some other juvenile category of exclusivity or elitism. Metal unites people, metal relates to the numerous facets of the human existence (and not just to some adolescent power fantasies), metal is kathartic, metal provides food for thought and metal helps one brace for the reality - just like any other ambitiously refined genre of music, or art in general! Therefore, it is _absolutely ok_ to be mature and functional _and_ like metal music. Markus Vanhala's other band, Omnium Gatherum, has this gem, The Unknowing: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hKeeqtiahZinmc4.html . The song, with its music video, sounds pretty unique to me, and it is fully certified as _zen_ as fuck. And by fuck we mean a _zen fuck._ You gotta see this some day, or you won't get to dine in The Restaurant at the End of the Universe.

Insomnium is the musical definition of melancholy. So dark and emotional.. so perfect! I love how his voice is the constant.. the "base", the one thing that is static in most of their songs, and the music is so colorful and melodic.. Sort of the music and the lyrics are telling the story, but his voice is the rough base.. the binding of the book sort of. Don't know if it makes any sense.. anyway its incredible music! WolfKain just sitting there.. eyes closed.. enjoying.. that's me after a long workday, just relaxing..

Insomnium produces some of the best melodeath I've heard. Their song "While We Sleep" is one of my go-to's when I need to chill, and now I've been introduced to this song which I'll add to my playlists. Thank you! Another interesting melodeath group you may want to explore is Parasite, Inc.

After watching your AIC Nutshell reaction about 2.5 years late, I was wondering if you could review the Mother Love Bone song Chloe Dancer/ Crown of Thornes? It and Nutshell are my favorite songs from the Grunge era. You may have already heard it, if not I feel you will not be disappointed. It was written as 2 songs that are played together for the singers girlfriend Xana. The song is about his love for her and her fight to help him overcome his addiction. Sadly Xana would find him unresponsive from a heroin OD that killed him. It is not your typical grunge song, It starts with 70's glam rock flare to ends in full grunge glory. I think the both of you would enjoy it. Love and peace to you both.

I would like to see some more melodic death metal videos. A tribute to the Gothenburg sound? In Flames, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity are the big three that "pioneered" this genre. Dark Tranquillity in particular is one of my favorite bands and are very underrated in my opinion.
