Insider's Tour of Glasgow
Our friend and guide, Justin gives us the insider's view to Glasgow. We took a @ScotRail train from Paisley into the city and then used the @glasgowunderground andour feet to get around the city. We spent most of the time in the west end of town where we ate lunch, went to the Glasgow Botanic Garden, the Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum, stopped in at the @universityofglasgow and learned history and heard stories along the way. This really is the sneak peek into what we've always thought of as Scotland's "gritty city." But Justin showed us just how far Glasgow has come since its early industrialization. But don't worry, Glasgow hasn't lost its hard scrabble, down to earth nature.

Justin is a gem! He joined us in quite a few places throughout Scotland, so you’ll see him again. And best news ever, he’s coming to visit us in America in March!
I have to confess I've been to Edinburgh 4 times and never once to Glasgow. Naughty me. Justin is right about the rivalry. The gardens are spectacular. Oh the museum, I'd want to stay all day. Is there a cafe? I had heard about the painting being damaged- was newsworthy. I love that painting. Great inspiration by the artist. Justing is an amazing guide. Fabulous information told in such an 'absorbing' way. Ah the name William Wallace. Climbed that monument/tower 3 times. The views are amazing. And what that view did was remind me of a tv series. (The Borderers is a British television series produced by the BBC between 1968 and 1970). but I digress. The Scottish history is as intriguing as it is violent. I 🩷 Scotland. The myths and legends are fabulous. How wonderful to have had such personal guides. Made the visit special. Loved my start to 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣4️⃣KZread experiences. Happy days. 🌟🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿

Justin is an absolute treasure. You’ll see him again in some of our other Scottish jaunts. He’s coming to the US to visit us this spring and we’re planning a trip we’re calling “The Islands and Borderlands” for next fall. Scottish history really has a unique edge to it. Like its landscapes, it is rough, wild and awesome in its scope. Wishing you the very best and hoping your first week of the New Year has been a good one.
