In the darkness of a summer night, the remote operators of the Vampire hexacopters follow a precise set of instructions before dropping their bombs on the enemy’s infantrymen. Yet when the kamikaze FPV drone teams kill, there is a heated rush of words as they send their explosives-packed craft hurtling down onto the Russian forces.
“Yes, yes, yes! Over here, over here! Yes, yes, yes! Let’s go, yes!” urges a co-pilot, as his pilot finds the target. The final second of the Russian’s life - he had stood up in his foxhole, hearing the drone, and had grabbed his rifle - is captured in a grainy transmission before the video abruptly fizzles out. Mission complete.

Absolutely. The problem is, you can print these robots in your basement. The munitions they've used in this war before international support were also 3D printed. Everything was made through modern tech and raw materials... Many YT channels exist that showcase drones that are converted (for science) in the USA to be weaponized using over the shelf components... kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yqagy6iKYNTfcbCR.html robodog armed with sub machine gun shooting at children targets maybe? When this Ukraine invasion 'ends' (which does not look like there is any end in sight anytime soon) - it will have created a whole new era of warfare, which can take place anywhere at any time, and no vehicle, no building or 'safe space' is safe - robots can be any size in the near future. So good luck with a any digital device being 'safe.' One must be ready for asymetrical warfare - which there is no actual direction of attack. Tanks, anti-drone devices, tunnels - all defeated in time with robots. Let the robots evolve into a perfect killing device ... give them a couple 'winks' of ai... and the robots start building themselves. Then what?

You have to watch that South Park episode with all the drones, you'll find it if you google it, it basically summarizes what that last minute was about but it's really funny.
The number of drones and their types is amazing. This war is a precursor. Bayraktars FPV drones Lancets Ground based drones Drones directing artillery Recon drones Drones used to evacuate people Drones with machine guns yes that has happened alot recently. Supply drones. Drones are becoming the new AKs and M16s of our Generation. Not even a special forces soldier can be useful on their own without drones and it's easy to kill them now. The main problem with any small drone is they don't have enough battery and power to resist make strong enough signals to resist jamming. You can only change patterns to resist with lower power of a drone. Russian jamming seems to have surpassed our own jamming capabilities in the U.S military because even western missiles Russia has been able to jam. This show isn't very well with reality. Sure military drones can be better but you have to have many and hide in bunkers or a good hiding spot to fly. Also not all drones are dji. They use some other brands that has AI target tracking to keep an eye on targets and follow them. One of the brands is mentioned in the videos above.

By AI then mean object recognition. So they can order the drone forward and it automatically scans for soldiers localy on its own processor instead of needing a human to guide the last few seconds of attack. Making jamming these drones far more dificult.

@@TomasApolonia Most people say "AI" to mean "Neural Networks", not "Computer Vision". Visual guidance dates back to WW II when they tried training pigeons to guide bombs. It is an excellent idea and is commonly used in manufacturing. It does bypass the effect of jamming. Unfortunately, most people confuse AI with magic. First, it was machines, then mass production, then radiation, then genetic engineering, then nanobots. Today the synonym for magic is "AI".

The massive shift in warfare towards AI and drones reminds me of Stanislav Lem's novel "The Invincible". An undefeatable interstellar warship lands on a distant planet and is confronted with the ultimate weapon, a very small drone. It looks very harmless, has no special characteristics or weapons, but a constant hunger for energy and the ability to multiply very quickly if any kind of energy is available. In the end, the indestructible warship's battle seems completely pointless... Will this be the future of war? A weapon that can't shoot or explode, but can absorb energy and thus deprive the enemy of all possibility to fight back? True to the motto, entropy will win.

Never. Quadcopters are simply more effective than any other form. For longer ranges traditional wings work better. The only reason humanoids are better is brains and the ability to dig. But there are better things to dig than humaniod forms too.

not suprised when and if not already have a ground unit controlled by air support/control. Look at Russians... they're doing the same thing.. catching men on the streets. The difference is Russians almost get no training and soon after are being sent into a meat grinder where they become cannon fodder. Ukrainians get proper training and value each and everyone of their troops.

@@TheRealBillBob Ukraine doesn't accept just any prisoner into their defense forces... it's quite limited, actually. No violent offenders, no sex offenders, you have to be pretty close to the end of your time. etc. Now, contrast this with the Russian invaders... From early in the war, Russia was offering ANY prisoner - rapists, murderers, pedos, anything goes - a free pass out of the clink after they completed however many months in the war - 6 or 12 months if I recall correctly. It makes no difference because those convicts aren't meant to survive more than a few weeks on the front lines. Russia literally uses these so-called soldiers as "meat waves" to expose Ukrainian positions and soak-up bullets, FPVs, and shells in successive assaults. They throw these dipshits out there with zero training (for real zero training), soviet-era rifles, and without body armor... after they've sacrificed a sufficient number of convicts, only then do invaders from the "regular army" begin to operate. They do the exact same thing with ethnic minorities from all over Russia. It's completely abhorrent. Putin is a monster, and the Russian people generally appear to be completely apathetic (and therefore complicit) to all of it. It's disgusting. Slava Ukraini

At one time, Israel developed a drone program for the Russian Federation, incl. Lancets and Outposts. Israel does not supply drones to Ukraine as a matter of principle.
Russia's offensive in the Kharkiv region was "with such speed and force" that the "meager" line of fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not contain Russian troops, writes the New York Times, which calls it "stunning." Some Ukrainian soldiers, caught off guard, had to retreat.

If many think that this can go on forever, it is a very big mistake, considering that this people has defeated Mamaia, Napoleon and Hitler. What happened with israeli patriots? why they 180 degree turn and started throw a zig against russian? - I dont know but i guess the problem is that Russia does not recognize same-sex marriage. Nice try, though. These drones are all locally produced. China won't sell them drones even if Ukraine begged them. Russia *is* using Chinese and Turkish drones, though.
The Drone maybe be called Vampire , but its real name is Baba Yaga . Glory to the Hero’s of Ukraine ! Soon the Russian Language will only be spoken in the depths of hell!
