    Every conversation between Ed and Teleya is absolutely heartbreaking. There is so much between them, their beliefs, hate, and the betrayal of both, but you can feel Ed trying *so hard* to get her to admit she loved him, and you can tell it takes everything out of her to refuse it.

    Ed and Talaya's daughter alone would be a good enough reason to give us another season of this amazing show!!!

    I’ll be heartbroken is this show never gets another season; this storyline with Ed, Teleya, and their daughter and how it symbolized the relationship between humans and the Krill, needs to be explored more.

    I don’t think that this is the last we will see of Telaya and their daughter. I think in a later episode, those who are just as radical as Telaya will discover she has a daughter and use it to push her out of power and take her place. Maybe the Orville comes back for Aniya or maybe Telaya send their child to Ed because it will come down to either killing her daughter to stay in power or being hoisted on her own petard.

    So, if this logic holds that the two 'species' can create off-spring, then humans and Krill are extremely closely related - i.e. the DNA of the two species are essentially identical as well as their internal chemistry/organs etc. Otherwise, not possible. So humans and Krill are essentially identical species

    It could also be that Krill have a type of DNA that is very malleable to the species they want to reproduce with. In Enterprise, Tucker got pregnant from just putting his hands in a bowl of goo lol

    Certain species can reproduce and create hybrid offspring, sometimes the offspring themselves cannot reproduce! Could a Krill male have a child with a Human female also? There is no other instance of inter breeding mentioned in the Orville franchise, at least not that I know off!

    Not a bad episode drama-wise, but the inevitable escape of the plot-armored main characters was ludicrously improbable. Also, the writers seem to be doing everything they can to help the Kaylon win the war, splitting the Union from the Krill, then the Moclans. Also, what war? Why isn't the Orville with the battle fleet in desperate struggle with the Kaylon? Supposedly the Union needs every ship.

    I liked how the Krills were basically fascists and moclans were the "conservative" branch of the Union. The Orville stood firmly with its message that we can't compromise the freedom of minorities to the sensibilities of bigot, and that when we make that choice of no compromise, which is the right choice, conservatives always align with fascists. This is what happened all throughout the XXth century, and the current state of conservatism, at varying degrees in the West, is going down that path again.

    She is scared to love the man that commited a massacre. One where an entire crew was killed, including her brother, she expreniced it as a school teacher she was the one who had to take care of the children as their parents and loved ones burned alive. she isnt lost to poltical views, shes lost in pain and self hate for the love she feels and she using political views to spread it. She loves him, she loves her daughter but how can she love someome that made her guide now orphaned children through hallways of burnt corpses.

    While it's torture in this episode, in reality I think it would only affect those parents who either regret the decision or cases where they detected a debilitating disease and they get shown a child without the disease.

  • @countfrackula6707
    @countfrackula6707 Жыл бұрын

    The politics in this episode were pretty garbage. The worst part was probably when they show two parents who illegally aborted their child a holographic representation of what the child would be so that they come to terms with the gravity of their actions and Captain Mercer says, "My god!", like that's somehow horrific. Honestly that seems pretty lenient, and *super* lenient for a Krill punishment. I expected something, idunno, actually horrific, like liquifying them alive or something.
