As a bulls fan who didn't get to start watching until after Jordan (ben gordon era), injuries have been a killer. It's one thing to lose in the finals/conference finals, it's another to never have a chance bc of injuries. I agree with chuck here, there is 0 chance with this team so lets blow it up and see what happens. Better than doing nothing

Poor Charles and half of America sadly don't know how Jerry Reinsdorf is, he's too stubborn to do a full teardown rebuild with the Bulls that's reason why this team hasn't been true contenders since Rose days at very least. Sadly as long he's in charge Bulls will stay at mediocrity.

Lavine is usually the fastest player on the court. He also has now long 3pt range and passing, only thing passing during crucial games late, that maybe a team maturity and training thing for scenarios.

Lonzo showed that this team needs a floor general to make them reach max potential. After Lonzo's injury, Bulls front office never brought in another floor general type player, and the team quickly spiraled down from there.

I get what they saying but some of their takes are still from like last season. Nobody to build around? Then who is Coby White. Mediocre? They’ve been winning a lot more lately. Now granted they aren’t anywhere near contention and they should trade Zach and possibly Demar too but let’s no act like all hope is lost. A lot of their young pieces are starting to show some type of potential in their respective current roles

Did Coby White die??? I know for a fact they haven't been paying attention to the bulls. Coby White has taken a big step since LaVine has been out and he's continued to play at an All-Star level WHILE the Bulls have been winning. I know Coby is currently far from being the number 1 guy on a championship team and who knows if he'll ever be but he's definitely a piece that the Chicago Bulls can build around.

You don’t build a team around a role player. Coby white is solid and has taken a big step this year but he’s been in the league 5 years now, we know he’s not an MVP/allstar caliber guy. Those are the guys you build around. And right now is the most value he’s probably ever going to have so you trade him for assets to hopefully draft one of those players. Why keep players just to stay in mediocrity? They been 9/10 seed the last 4 years. They’re wasting DeRozan, Lavine, Vuc prime years instead of just rebuilding. You see what Orlando and OKC did. It’s possible to go through a tear down and come out better on the other side

He's like Damian Lillard: huge contract, plays with average to bad defense. Their only difference is that Dame is an elite scorer and proven commodity down the clutch. Lavine is not.

I hate when they say rebuilding u can’t rebuild during a season only practice and games, the most u can do is maybe get a trade or two and that’s not rebuilding. This is why you have a whole offseason, that’s the time u rebuild and reset, after that back to official games. Rebuilding and blaming star payers is a bad excuse for bad decisions made by owners and keep the fans buying tickets

If the Raptors can build around a 22 year old Scottie Barnes the Bulls can build around a 23 year old Coby White. What we saw from Coby last night was not fools gold. How he closed the game is who he is. Like Scottie he just needs more moments like that, not less. Shaq is right about Zach. He can help a contending team win. If he were getting paid up to 30m he'd be gone by now. But the CBA agreement is what it is. He qualified for that contract from ONE team and he took it as the Bulls had to give it or "lose him for nothing" to another team in free agency. Now it seems the team is stuck with him and vice versa based on that inflated contract. At least for now. It seems even if teams can get him fairly painlessly right now they look at that contract and think "we'll pay later." Just as the Bulls are paying now. 43m next season, then 46m and finally 50m in its final year. Big numbers for a Zach Lavine. The Bulls don't work with Zach and DeMar playing together. One or the other or both need to go. Or they need a better coach that can make tough adjustments. And thats not happening. But one of the best games the Bulls played this season was without both Zach and DeMar. They soundly beat the Bucks. Typical? Of course not. But flashes of potential shown through. Bulls have some solid young players they been developing on the court, and more in the wings. They have one of the better two way players in the league in Caruso. They can use some frontcourt depth and another shooter. Maybe he's a 3&D guy? But they don't NEED a "star" back for Zach. A pick or two and some contracts should be fine. Guys who can play? Sure. Role players, young prospects, whatever. But the Bulls can build around Coby White while others come and go, Lonzo goes off the books, and the business of basketball rolls on.

At this stage Chicago will have to give draft picks in order to get rid of Lavine's contract. Nobody is going to give them their whole future for him... And what contender can trade away 40 million in salaries only get Lavine in return and not feel at least some negative effect... Lavine is a good player but not worth the money he is being paid and contending teams would have to trade at least 2 decent role players for him in order to match salaries and there is no guarantee that it would help then out to do so.

A talented underachiever that will never learn.
