Being an Kentuckian and knowing about the castle, it's my first time of knowing it was opened to the public now. Wow, just WOW!! Great vid.

Sweet! I want to go stay there!

I learned a lot from this video: 1)Buy a money pit/unfinished house on the cheap; 2)Insure the house; 3)Make sure I'm out of state with an alibi; 4)Burn the place to the ground; 5)Collect the insurance money; 6)"Rebuild" for less than the insurance money; 7)Under the guise of selling the property as a business, sell it for 15x what I paid for it. Cha-ching! hehe

I remember the fire. I was a kid. Shortly after the fire my 4th grade class had a field trip and I remember passing it on the way and being amazed

my daughter would see it and we’d stop and take pictures thanks for the Amazing tour it’s definitely added to the bucket list. Safe travels and God bless

Thank you Ken! There's a sad, lonely 30+ year old man out there living in his mom's basement. As he waits for her to bring him his PB&J so he has enough energy to finish 'World of Warcraft', he takes a moment to hit thumbs-down on another one of my videos he hasn't watched. --Why? Maybe because he is trying to fill-in the emptiness of his pathetic, meaningless existence with enough dislikes, that his estranged father will one day take notice and maybe love him again? Who knows... We may never know...

Inside of it the interior decoration and design looks like an estate in Toronto my parents bought, updated and sold for a huge profit.. Just gorgeous!

I have seen the castle when I was kid ...as I was born and raised in Kentucky...I am also a Legend of Zelda fan and love the games so much ...Reminds me of Hyrule castle in The Ocarina of Time... I live in Bavaria,Germany now...So happy to see this lovely place is doing so good now!

You know, Germany has some ACTUAL castles, you might want to check those out. I mean the type that were actually used to secure strategic military positions in wars, not hotels.

@@johnsmithe4656 Oh yes I have seen them ...I even slept in one over night ...and was an old castle tower...no electricity and just a sleeping bag..It was a cool experience.

As a little girl and teenager every year we drove to Lexington to see my Grammie. We would pass this castle every year. Amazing to see this video of it now. Wow!

Hey Ken, what a very nice place to visit and stay! I wish we lived closer to be able to stay there but if we're ever around the area you can bet I'll be booking a room! They sure put a lot of money into that place and boy it shows, lots and lots of detail in the interior and exterior construction, thanks for the very detail tour, Bah & Bye!

Who know they had a Castle in Kentucky? And a nice one indeed. You did a excellent job of filming it via the air and the land. I really enjoyed this one. We have a castle on the Blackhorse Pike near the shore called Storybook Land.

Oh hey! I was there a year ago! During the solar eclipse, well the same week.... my friend lives in Lexington.

I remember the fire. I’ve loved this castle for years. I would love to go see it in person. I live in Elkhorn City Kentucky.

I seen it from the road on my way to Texas in 1997 I was taken a picture and a guy came out to the gate and told me "No admittance on the property." I am glad they were able to restore it and put it to use.

The photograph of the fire at 1.45 is of the KY castle. The next photo is of the fire at Windsor Castle in England. Shake my head at that, and double shake my head at the fact no one has pulled you up for it! I'm back in England now but I used to live in Elizabethtown KY so we'd always go past this when we went to Lexington. I've stopped by before but that was when it was closed off so I'm very glad to see what it has developed in to. As a Brit I know that many people will dismiss it but I like it.

Hi Ken, like always great video. That place is amazing. Believe it or not I live about 35 or 40 miles away from that castle and have for about 21 years and this video is the most I've ever saw of it. I also didn't know its been turned into what it is now. I do remember the fire but it doesn't seem like it was that long ago. I also remember a fire that was caused by lightning, but I could be getting facts and rumors mixed up. Thanks for such an awesome video though you never disappoint. Too bad I didn't know you where near by It'd be great to meet you some day and talk drones and video making, or whatever.

*there is something similar to this north of Knoxville too. well there was 20 yrs ago when i lived there. not 100% sure it's still there but i can't imagine anyone tearing it down, i don't remember exactly where it is but it was in the i75 N Callahan road area before you get to Clinton TN going up i 75 you actually pass through a golf course to get to where it's at it was off of beaver creek. You take N Central ave pike to beaver creek right on to beaver then it was about 5-7 miles down on the right. Never mind i just looked it up and progress has taken over the golf course and the house. they have both been seemingly replaced with new housing developments*

Nice video, your the best Ken Heron! I guess I missed the part of the air controller asking how long you would be flying? On the other hand why ask? I don't think you will find a plane under 100 foot. LOL

Great place to fly Ken!! I do find American castles quite funny though, they're so new (1969) compared to our castles in the UK!! On our way through Big Sur, we had intended to visit that well known castle (name has escaped us), but unfortunately we ran out of time :(
