ABOUT US
We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, nine years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in Chennai, India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. We hope that our travels will inspire and provide our children with the confidence to meet new people, try new foods, and enjoy learning a new language. We hope our vlogs will inspire you to get out and travel, too!

Thank you, Les Rives Team! We're so glad you enjoyed the video. Our experience with you was truly unforgettable, and Mr. Kha's expertise made it even more special. We look forward to our next adventure with Les Rives. Safe travels and happy exploring to everyone! 🚀✨
I went to the tunnels when I was there in 2023! Pretty amazing and frankly it aptly explains why the USA was never going to win that war! I really was in awe of vietnamese ingenuity!

Puts things into perspective, right?
I am Vietnamese but I was born after the war. In the hearts of Vietnamese people, there is always a high national spirit. We would rather sacrifice to be independent than to be slaves. War is not about using weapons. Modernity is about winning, it is important to have planning and determination, Ho Chi Minh has done that❤
The guide tour is very professional and took effort to his job. i respect

He was fantastic 🎉 A wonderful guide and a great person. His storytelling abilities were a great mix of serious and funny.
I like your family. You have allowed your children to witness and learn about the truest historical values of Vietnam with their own eyes. Surely they have learned valuable lessons about war and peace. We opened the Cu Chi Tunnels so that many young Vietnamese generations can know about Vietnam's heroic history and appreciate what they have in the present. My children also came to Cu Chi at the same age as your children. They go with their classmates and teachers as an elementary school field trip activity. I still remember they had talk a lot about what they witnessed after that trip.
Always enjoy viewing your vlogs. Granit, Cedar and Forest are such wonderful children. At such a young age, they are very open-minded and willing to experience and try new things. The Vietnam war was a terrible time for everyone on all sides. It serves as a sad reminder that there are never any winners in war, everyone suffers and everyone loses out.

So much suffering. It’s a good reminder that history wasn’t history that long ago, and we all need to continue to work on keeping the peace. It starts at home, teaching our kids to be peaceful and kind, and we need to support it in school. Then, spread that to our local community and into our global communities. It’s a lot of hard work, but we can do hard things ❤️
Your child visiting the Cu Chi tunnels will definitely have unforgettable experiences. In the family, the daughter and youngest son are both very brave.

Absolutely 💯 We have had so many good conversations related to history, war, perspectives, and the world today because of this experience together. You can learn a lot through movies and books, but there’s something tangible about being in a place to really make a connection.

All I can think about when you say Vietnam is the war. I was a kid at the time. They showed video of the war constantly and they gave an count of the dead soldiers every day. We wore pow ID bracelets in honor of the missing. It was a sad time.

Super sad, incredibly heartbreaking to hear the stories and then to imagine all the soldiers (from all sides) and civilians trying to survive in the tunnels and the heat and the traps. War is tough, no one walks away unchanged. 💔 You might enjoy reading The Women, it’s a fictional story based on the experiences of the army nurses. I cried through the whole book.

Oh my, the tunnels! I was in Vietnam many years ago on an exchange trip as a student. I remember entering one of the tunnels and feeling scared for a moment because it was pitch black (I'm scared of the dark). I remember saying, 'Oh my god, where is the exit?!' and the person in front of me responded, 'On your left!' It was such an experience. I was honestly freaking out a little bit...!
Thanks for sharing we were been Cu Ci tunnel many years ago quite interesting enjoying in Vietnam for more adventures stay safe and take care with all your family members bye-bye.

Thank You for sharing History with us. I had many High School classmates that were drafted & all but 1 returned home alive. I remember seeing the American airplanes leaving Saigon with 100’s of children just before the city fell. Many kids did not fit in the planes & they were left behind running after the planes! Sad times. 💜

🙏 Much respect to your friends.
We in Vietnam have a long tradition of fighting enemies, 1000 years of defeating the Mongols (Genghis Khan) and the Chinese dynasty, 50 years of fighting against the French colonialists, 3 years of fighting against the Japanese Empire, and 30 years of fighting against the Japanese. years of resistance against America, then in 1978 we had to fight the Khmer Rouge and in 1979 we had to fight the Chinese in the north.
All I can say 74 yrs nice to c normal life in Vietnam..
👋🏻
Let visit Hạ Long
These tunnels should never be a tourists attraction. The local Vietnamese treat these tunnels as a memorial, where lifes were lost, where lots of suffering took place and where many families lived for several years and only experienced fresh air during night time. Show respect.
What a sport, Cedar!💪 Could barely fit her 😅

Though it's not necessary but somehow I want to remind everyone that to Vietnamese people like me, it's "War against American", it's not VietNam war, because we fought against American people in that war!
@onceuponfewtime
Ай бұрын
Americans call it Vietnam war in the same sense they call Afghans war or Korea war or Iraq war. It’s the matter of perspective or the matter of point of view, without any hostility intentions. You should leave it with that, because this is just tourism, not a changing-nationality course
@tan3dead

@@onceuponfewtime it’s “Vietnam war” for American, but not “Vietnam war” for other countries!
