Great video Alan ! Love the way you got it all in so fast and with great narration. The end result is really nice as well I am going to have a go at one of these for the tree this year! Allan one idea for your 'hanging' hardware..... try using some small stainless steel cotter pins. Maybe a 1/16" size or 2mm size about 3/4" long. Just glue them into the hole with some CA glue. They wont ever rust and you don't have to make them....

I've been trying to avoid hollowing thru a small hole so far this season. We'll see. Than you Derek Alan

An interesting idea! An additional interesting feature might be to paint what then becomes the inside section... or, better still, to 'guild' it with faux gold leaf (actually made from aluminium leaf). as a contrast to what then becomes the outside of the design.

For the first turning, the glue is used very sparingly because it has to come apart at the right time. Alan

Alan, Great project. I have done a couple of inside our turnings and I really appreciate the tips in this video. I have one criticism. The speed of the video is too fast. As you are commenting the video gets past the point you are making. I would be more than happy to have to watch for a few more minutes and be able to grasp a bit more of what you are doing.
