Probably get their own floor or building. They kept it simple the 1st time for the audience. Basic psychology for the “kids.

Honestly I blame the end credits. If they never showed those scenes where the showed other peoples emotions then everyone would stop complaining about these new ones.

Well Riley is growing up and as she reaches her teenage years and adult years, it is most likely that some of these emotions will either stay or come and go or simply fade away. Most likely they will have their own island As you’ve seen via the end credits, the main emotions tend to stay and presumably as Riley grows older, then so will they

I believe as people grow up, they feelother things besides, joy, sadness, disgust, fear, and anger deep inside.

frozen and inside out are polar opposites in frozen remembering childhood saves the day

Was just thinking that, kids during toddlers years go through separation anxiety. Kids in elementary school ages get anxiety as well.

As we saw in the trailer for Inside Out 2 Riley was celebrating her 13th birthday so that means she's NOT a kid anymore she's teenager now.Riley's growing up show she's going to be experiencing new things with new emotions so maybe that's why

Technically, she’s still a kid. Just because you turn 13 doesn’t mean you you’re no longer considered a kid. Even older teens under 16 or 17 or 15 are still referred to as kids from time to time.

@@sentientfetus3894 That's true but I personally think that Riley herself might be getting a more nuanced perspective of her emotion telling the diffrence between rage from embarrassment or just straight up rage all together, similar to the happy/sad old at the end of the first movie

I'm thinking maybe they're there to help handle with Riley deal around her Teenage years or something. Cause since we don't see these emotions in other people and such, they'll probably leave or be on stand by call when needed.

My guess as to why Inside Out 2 likely wouldn't introduce love is because love isn't technically an emotion as passion or affection may be. Love is usually described as the willing of good towards another. Passion might be one though.

Why do I feel like inside out 2 will make everything more sad but I always loved the concept art of inside out

It’s possible the emotions being introduced are actually ones that were not used in the original film since they planned to have many emotions in Riley’s mind.

Imagine inside out in the osmosis Jones universe

Ok to start with, I’ve wanted Inside Out 2 since 2015! I felt the endless possibilities and places Riley’s coming of age can take Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust! It has an element of surprise which I deeply miss from pre Pandemic Pixar magic! However, my expectations are neutral and I care for Pixar too much to see them mess this up! As an autistic individual, I hope to relate to Anxiety! I was 22 when the first movie came out and I’ll be 31 in February. But when I thought about Riley being a teen, I pictured her more 16 or 17 years old. Oh well! I’m not going to complain

Riley is going through puberty and because of that she’s going through new emotions but probably when Riley turns 18 her emotions will soon reflect to leave her but I’m not sure yet but you get lots of emotions when u go through 13-16 puberty probably but emotions will fill up the head coders joy’s the leader and she will have to connect the other emotions to follow or maybe the other emotions will reflect to the new emotions But do to the fact the new emotions will have feelings to control Riley And guiding to wanting the new emotions also taking Riley’s reflection sorry for the long paragraph

Circumstantial, not “circomstsncial”.

I think perhaps the emotions always existed in the *wider city* of Riley's mind and now they've been "hired" at Headquarters to manage the INCREASE in those emotions showing up in her life. Not that she's never had them before, but they were never something that she *dwelled on.* But now that she's hitting adolescence, AND after she went through the groundshaking stress and depression that happened with the move to San Francisco, her life is more complicated and how she feels isn't as cut and dry. Young kids don't have as much capacity to EXPLAIN their emotions. But now that they're cycling with more frequency and intensity, and now that she has words for them, they're taking a more central role in her life.

2:18 to 2:40 I think for the sequel like in early production for Inside Out, Joy wants Riley to keep her innocence and Envy will take Fear’s place in keeping Joy out of HQ while she realized that Riley had to grow up. EDIT: based on the new trailer, it looks like Anxiety will take Fear’s place instead of Envy.

They first made it sound like only one emotion (Anxiety) was being introduced, and I thought they already have Sadness & Fear to expand on, why introduce a new emotion that is the equivalent of 2 emotions already I was annoyed at the introduction of new emotions. Why does Riley have more emotions than any other character. Maybe I'll give this sequel a chance to explain how only the teenage years experience more emotions.

Because Pixar didn't think this far ahead?
