INSIDE KYUSHU'S LUXURY LINER - THE SEVEN STARS ななつ星の中から九州を体験する豪華な旅
Last winter, I had the opportunity to tag along on a luxury Kyushu tour that included a few amazing ryokans, and the opportunity to spend a night on the coveted Seven Stars (Nanatsuboshi) luxury train that runs through Southern Japan.
The video came late because it took months to get it approved, but I'm glad to finally be able to share it with you now. Here are some links if you're interested in learning more about the places shown in this video:

(I know narration is nasaly and I'm a bit crusty in this video, I happened to get really really sick before we shot but I didn't want to cancel the trip, so I tried to power through. Hehe. )

Can we all just email the train line and tell them to please hire that guy! It would make his dream come true and I'm sure he would be the best staff member with that commitment.
5 years?? What the heck, they should hire him already.
Man that guy saying i want to welcome everyone and show them our hospitality brought me tears.
Thank you for interviewing Tashiro-San about his love for the Nanatsuboshi. His joy was infectious and I am touched by his hospitality and his wish to welcome everyone to Japan. if I ever have the chance to travel to Japan, I will carry that spirit with me and be even more appreciative and thankful for Japan's hospitality.
Out of curiosity I looked up how much this train ride would cost and immediately went, "Welp, I'm never riding it". But thankfully you put together this lovely video so we could live vicariously through you! :D
Atleast we got to see some of the train, next time less of your face.
That ryokan is beautiful😭😭😭✨
I want to love something with the same passion as those two guys who love the train
Tashiro! What a dude! He needs to be employed by them or at least given some kind of special official job title if he doesn't want pay. His spirit was lovely and I hope one day they reward him with a special ride on the Nanatsuboshi!
First, the ryokan is very nice. The corridor with a shiny wooden floor is very pretty with lanterns. Next, the train is amazing. Yes, luxury is the word! It is like a fancy hotel in motion. What really stuck me were 1. decorated porcelain sinks (I have never seen those in my life anywhere) 2. clear tomato juice (looks like white wine). I wonder if they have vegetarian options on the train (I guess they want you to experience the famed Kyushu beef and seafood etc.). I really enjoyed this upload!
The guy who comes to watch the train seems so genuinely nice, I love that level of hospitality
The part with the guy who comes greeting the train everytime was so cute! The effort he put into even making his own bow tie is just amazing, that was so adorable.
So impressed with your Japanese language skills! When people make effort to learn a foreign language, it immediately builds a bond between cultures and makes you “one of us!” I wish I could speak 3 or 4 different languages!!!
I think Mr. Tashiro, who loves Nanatsubosi, was impressed by the gentle response of Micaela. This jorney is a great experience for Micaela, who uses the finest trains, as the starting point for your train journey. Experience is better than temporary ownership.
This was literally the most opulent train I've ever seen. Japan knows how to do it.
In my time here, I've met so many people who are full of sincere and warmhearted passion for a really specific thing, as Mr. Tashiro is about the Nanatsuboshi Train. It is so genuine and wonderful... a lot of younger Japanese people feel that it's old-fashioned or boring (they would rather have a variety of hobbies). Some of my friends who are really dedicated to their sole hobby wonder if it's boring. I don't think it is, and I see in the comments that so many people agree! Even though most of us will likely never ride this train, we could all feel Mr. Tashiro's excitement, enthusiasm, and kindness. Thank you!
How lovely the two gentlemen just came for welcoming passengers, I think this is another level of true friendly Japan!
I know that label from the champagne bottle the waiter gave her. It's the Piper-Heidsieck Rare. Usually around $300 a bottle at any restaurant in the States. Amazing.
I literrally cried when the guy said that hes doing this because he wants to show tourists how hospitable japan is !!!!! SOOO CUTEEE!!!
What amazed me is that the host speaks japanese fluently!! Bravo!!
