I permitted a heated barn recently and the inspector looked at me like I was crazy. I guess most people don’t live in their back yard 🤷‍♂️. I love this idea and did the same.

Beautiful! My only thought is the shower could have had a separate door from toilet and vanity, since it’s the only bathroom, or just have an additional half bath. With all those guests, having the one bathroom could be tricky. Then again, they could go to the main house. Speaking of the main house, would love to see THAT!

Very nice! The only thing I would change is having flagstone instead of the gravel patio and also add an outdoor fireplace.

Love the space. I would have carried the vinyl to the upper floor as well. Woods like pine, Douglas fir and hemlock are notorious for denting and scratching and something tells me you wont be asking guests to take of their shoes. I would float the vinyl over the upper floor hardwood and only expose it when you are going to sell the property. This will save thousands in sanding costs over a 10 year period.

1st. This place is absolutely stunning and so practical!! 2. What a wonderful house this could be too! 3rd. This is a question....What is behind the sliding barn door next to the wet bar on the lower level? 4th. (The only thing I am questioning about this) Why are there no drawers built in under the steps leading to the upper bunks in the Bunk Room? Over all, this building is a very warm and inviting place!!!

Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comments! The sliding door just hides a storage closet with extra chairs for events. Since this is their guest house there wasn’t really a need for all of the drawers and it came down to what the designer wanted.

My party barn was a 66 Impala when I was in school.

Are you asking about the sheep skin ones? Those were found by her decorator, I’m not sure where she found them. They look amazing though!

Only thing I would complain about this set up is..Needs at least 2 more bathrooms..one up stairs and one more down stairs.. otherwise perfect.

This is very cool, but be careful with the TV. Leaving the same image on for longer durations will lead to image burn-in

It's needs an upstairs bathroom. Other than that it's perfect.

Absolutely beautiful, I just love these barndominium, type housing. I could certainly live in it, it looks like cost was not an issue, is this in the $200,000 range, I am just curious as to the total cost with cement work and everything else involved. It is absolutely gorgeous, thanks for sharing.

The buidling is 3120 sqft. If you can get a finished home for under $100 per sqft without doing most of the work yourself then your doing amazing. Given that math the minimum you could get this not including the high end finishes is $300,000+. Hope this helps. I would be surprised if with this home under $500,000 finshed and furnished the way it is.

We recently had two bids for conversion of a 400sf garage into a one-room guest space and construction of a new 400sf unfinished garage. Both bids approached $300,000 including permits, design fees, etc. so I think it is pretty safe to say that this is many multiples of $200,000.

This is a million dollar project all day long.....likely much more. In my area, a simple unfinished 2 car garage will run $100k. When you start looking at cedar shingle roofs, copper gutters, stone veneer, and all the other high end finish, it adds up fast.

I wonder why all the spaces weren't shown. Those barn doors hid a room that had door leading out back. And upstairs was whole back end. Would have been nice to have seen the total package. Like showing a car off but not opening the trunk or hood for engine peek. Did any of you All pick up on that tid bit

It’s very well insulated for the winter time. The fireplace warms the room up very quickly too

You use the term "in addition to" a lot. Try other terms, such as "as well as," "along with." Beautiful barn, though!

It’s beautiful, but with such a massive space, the furniture needs to be to scale. Most of the furniture in here feels way too small and makes the space feel empty.

They use it for multiple events and they wanted to be able to move the furniture easily. When it’s just their family they have the furniture out and when they have a large group of people they put more chairs out

So when they say "do you live in a barn..."

I have a $100,000 ranch home. But I think I'm going to build a $500,000 party room in the backyard. Let the neighbors talk

Didn’t she say she has 3 children? How many guests do they invite over? It must be nice to have so much space. If she says in addition to this we have…….I could scream. And seriously just one bathroom for all that space.

Would have made that a basketball court or gym Seems like a major waste of space
