Thanks for the very interesting and informative reaction! I love to listen to people who know more than I do about different aspects of these videos. Dan used to do all the mixing and mastering himself, but lately he's been able to afford to send his things out for mastering. He chose Tony Lindgren very intentionally. I'm glad you approve! I think the whole thing is just superlative - the most gorgeous, versatile, and powerful voice on the planet, lots of smiles, tons of energy (I thought that Dan was going to pop out of his skin at a few points), fabulous guitar work by Garrett, and not really a cover but a total reimagining while keeping the core of the original. Kudos to Dan and Gabriel for the epic arrangement. I hope to see more Dan on your channel in the future. Thanks!

Tony Lindgren has done the mastering on the last several videos Dan has released. He does a phenomenal job. Really knows what he’s doing. I’m guessing that Dan will continue to hire him for his future videos.

Great reaction! First time listener! This cover by Dan is awesome. So different from what one would expect because we are thinking about Celine's version, which was iconic also. For a lot of people, the shock value reminds me, a little of Dan's "Amazing Grace" or "O Holy Night" etc because the songs are so very surprisingly unexpected as we are shocked at how good they are, even compared to the originals.... sometimes better, sometimes at least as good. Dan has the wonderful ability to do this time after time!

Nice reaction to the now definitive version of this song! The original was always just "meh" to me - didn't hate it, but I didn't love it, either. This version, though - all I can say is every single song Dan sings, he turns to gold.🤘🤘🤘

Dan did that choir sound with a program on his computer. He showed it in one of the teasers he did on “X” in the month before he released this song. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?

Two dynamo’s, I love covers that match or blow away the original, I.e., Disturbed’s sound of silence as well as his version of Amazing Grace, transformed a great hymn to an epic anthem.

What's the difference between mixed and mastered....?

Great question! Mixing is setting the levels and EQing out frequencies during the recording, which this is vital to make sure that there is no peaking or phasing problems which would make a recording basically useless. Mastering is applying effects like reverb, delay further EQ if needed and applying compressors and limiters. There is a lot more that goes into mastering but it is working on the small details that makes a song stand out.
