In my opinion, what was a lovely but weepy song is now an anthem to the memory of undying love. Brilliant. This has everything - Dan's voice, Dan's singing, Garrett's guitar, the background instrumentals, the incredible energy, and so many smiles. And a great arrangement by Dan and Gabriel. Thanks for your comments. You would have preferred him to keep more to the original tempo, more like Celine's, and that's fine. I don't agree with you, but that's OK! I felt that he kept all the words and almost all the melody, as well as the core meaning of the song, but turned it into something triumphant. I hope you will do more Dan reactions - I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Dan and Garrett fixed this song. It needed to be brought current. The original version was played to death and is easy to tune out. It's perfect now in my opinion.

So you basically wanted him to cover it like everyone else who ever sang it covered it and not bring anything new or creative to it. If you want to hear him sing a "straight" cover try his cover of Phil Collins' "You'll be in My Heart" or Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender" or his recent collaboration with Minniva of "Beauty and the Beast"

Dan and Garrett have created a brand new power anthem without changing a word of the original.. which was great in the film, but became old and sickly sweet.. this one with the guitar and Dan in harmony, Dan looking and sounding mighty fine, the fun they were having and Garrett making that guitar sing for it's supper.. well this whole production is outstanding. Everyone to their own, It is your opinion, and we respect that. For me this song was so overplayed, that it became a labor, just to hear it, and if Dan sang it in that way, maybe I would've discarded it as being the same, you wanted a more original version, that's ok too. Try some of his other covers, but beware, there is some he keeps to the original, there is some he completely changes, mostly he makes the song better, he is a master in assessing what to do with the songs. Try some more of his songs, we won't through you under the bus, if you don't like a song. Enjoy the discovery.

I understand totally about your mixed feelings as I thought the same because of loving Celine’s version, but I listened again and again, and finally have learned to like and appreciate his version. He made it very different and very “Dan”, and I have room for both versions on my playlist.

If it weren't for Dan covering this song, I would have lived happily without listening to the original ever again. I'm a metal guy, and when songs are as sappy as the original, they just grate upon the nerves. Dan energized it and made it listenable.

I appreciate your honesty. I think you might prefer something else from Dan. Something maybe not as creative, but very beautiful. Maybe "Faithfully" (Journey cover) or "Nessun Dorma" or even "Sweet Child 'O Mine" (Guns 'N Roses). Dan does many covers that are true to the song but have his fantastic voice. I believe Dan is an acquired taste for many. Don't give up on him. I know he has something that you would like. Toto, Nightwish, Led Zeppelin, etc., etc.

A maioria dos reatores é "mamão com açúcar", só quer agradar aos fãs dos artistas e por isso faz muito teatro na reação. Não é o caso de Téo. Ele já externou quem é o melhor cantor do mundo de sua geração. Não concordo com ele, mas sempre nos respeitamos. Há o caminho da direita e o caminho da esquerda, embora, as vezes, necessitamos caminhar pelo meio.

@@RadioTeo I did not mean my comment to be insulting. Personally, I have never cared for Celene Dion's music as I found her choice of songs to be pretty sappy. However, I think she has a nice enough voice. So in that regard, we are of the same thinking on these two singers. I believe I have only watched two videos where you reacted to Dan. As I recall, you did not like what he did with Amazing Grace and My Heart Will Go On is even more metal than Amazing Grace. So I pretty much knew what your reaction would be before I even watched it. ( I also do not care for reactors who post nothing but flowery, false praise.) Dan's comment about the Ed Sheeran line was made after complaints were made about his style, song choice, etc. He is his own man and will always do things his way. I probably won't watch any more of your reactions to Dan in the future but I doubt you will miss me too much. Cheers, and have a pleasant day.

Eu sou fã de Dan e já vi todas suas interpretações. Ele é magnífico, mas muitos de seus covers eu não aprecio, não pela obra, mas pelo gênero. Aqueles que aparecem aqui contrariados com a reação, primeiramente, deveriam colocar suas críticas no canal oficial do Dan, para aqueles covers que se assemelham aos originais "chorosos e melancólicos".
