Insane Skills and Knockouts... Roy Jones Jr. - the Most Complete Puncher Ever

Спорт

At the turn of the century, Roy Jones didn't just knock his opponents out, he made them look foolish. By hacking the matrix of reality and marching through weight classes for decades, Roy amassed a collection of belts beyond the mere comprehension of mortals. And now is the time to recollect the handiwork of one of the greatest artists who has ever stepped inside the ring.

@Dumb Yet Smarter Than You What are you talking about man? Did you actually watch Roy Jones fight at all? Lol. What do you mean he didn’t have any power? You don’t KO 47 of your opponents with “no power”. One of the first things anyone mentions about RJJ is his power along with his speed and evasiveness.

Lets be honest as well, Roy wasn’t the best technical boxer either, he was just Way more athletic and faster than everyone, but once that speed slows down, once you can’t rely on that pure Athleticism anymore to overshadow your actual Sweet Science of boxing, you saw the Flaws like no other, that’s why I Say Floyd is the Best Pure Boxer ever, because even when he was 40 yrs old he was Such a Great Skilled Boxer he could still beat anyone in his division and any young up and coming fighter like a Canelo Alvarez who was 23 and running through people knocking their heads off lol, an Floyd absolutely Schooled Canelo made him look regular, Roy is still 1 of the best and 1 of my favorite fighters and definitely 1 of the most Exciting Fighters Ever.

GOAT in every sense of the term- his combination of speed, precision, power, athleticism, and creativity inside the ring quite literally made him the perfect boxer, making champions and other legends look like amateurs by comparison during his domination of this era in the light heavyweight division. Obviously even the greats succumb to age, but I can't help but wonder if he would've retired with an unblemished record had he not went up/down in weight class. Changes like that generally seem to wreak havoc on a fighter's stamina, but he was pushing himself to seek new challenges in the sport, a fact that makes his career that much more incredible. Always a privilege to watch, never a dull moment, one of if not the greatest, my personal favorite.

In his prime I don't think anybody from any era on any planet could've beaten Roy

Mayweather’s technical proficiency would punish Roy’s unorthodox stance and inability to properly defend jab pressure against the ropes. Roy punishes openings, while a technician gives none.

In his weight class? Correct. Bigger people would destroy him. This is true for pretty much everyone in every combat sport, it's why weight classes exist.

@@justinlast2lastharder749 tell that to ufc 1. Weight class don’t mean shit when you’re arms are being twisted into pretzels by an underweight Brazilian.

@@Prince_Luci the most boring, sickening combat sports. I don’t care how effective it is, unless it’s women doing it, I don’t want to watch it. At least MMA is doing more stand up striking. People want to see heads smashed, not man on man porn. Well I guess some do?

The one thing I hate about my favourite sport, is legends going on too long and becoming sad shadows of themselves. The last 8 years of his career won't affect my opinion of him. In the 90's he was the Tyson of middleweights. One of my favourites of all time

Most exciting boxer to watch, ever. Hand speed and angles were insane, had speed and power in everything he threw.

My introduction to roy jones jr was catching him on a random weekend when we got hbo or showtime for free on cable. He came out to redman and method man in the walkout with him. What an entrance and fight

Back when boxing wasn’t so money hungry and charging ridiculously expensive prices for PPV like nowadays, it was just purely entertainment more than it was business. Those days where purely good times, man.
