Insane Louisiana Snake Hunting: 50+ Snake Day, Beautiful Mud Snakes and More!
Ойын-сауық
While we were in Louisiana for several days, the last day of the trip really stood out. The numbers, diversity, and quality of snakes seen was mind blowing, so much so I had to break it up into two videos for one day. Enjoy Part 1!

Beautiful red & black pattern on those snakes. Very cool.
Thank for raising awareness and spreading truth about snakes to people. So many snakes are unrightfully hurt/killed. And in very inhumane ways. This is the key even for poisonous snakes.....leave them alone, they'll leave you alone.
The mud snakes and copper heads were my favorite, absolute gorgeous.

This is herping paradise! The biggest day for me was in California, when I caught nine snakes in one day. There were two boards in Monterey under which my brother and I found three gopher snakes and four ringneck snakes, and also a skink. Then later in the day under another board in Carmel I found two garter snakes, or it might have been one garter snake each under two separate boards. That was 1983, so my memory of the day isn't perfect. But there were times when I could go into the woods every day for weeks without finding a snake. In California it seems like late April, through May, and June were always the best time of year to find snakes. Finding areas with good ground cover is sometimes tough. Boards are the best, as they are easy to flip and put back, and snakes love to hide under them. A board on the edge of a clearing or a field, right next to the tree line or some tall grass or vegetation is usually the best spot. I kind of wish people wouldn't litter, except for wooden boards! Please leave lots of wooden boards all over. Thank you.
