Insane jackknife on the freeway

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

When it rains it pours! This tractor with container jackknifed so hard, the cab literally came off the chassis. I was first on scene in Hulk, my 50ton rotator, and my first step was to pull on the tractor to straighten it out. This allowed me to pull the 5th wheel and separate the tractor from the container.
After a bit of rigging and some Pepe's "finessing", we were able to put the cab and the chassis onto our Landoll. After Caltrans finished cleaning the freeway, my dad backed up our tractor to the container and we were all ready for transport.

With 20+ years of professional driving, & watching numerous recovery channels on KZread, this is one of the most destructive recoveries I've seen! That felller hit HARD to separate the cab from the chassis like he did!

This is coming from the son of a fellow father son trucking company who works together... how many more times in our lives will guys like us say get to say what you said @ 26:16 "MY FIRST IDEA WAS TO .... BUT MY DADS IDEA WAS 10 x's BETTER? Personally I hope for a long time because the day I'm not saying that is the day he's no longer around to be giving me those little nuggets on the job site. You know the little ones that sometimes you don't even notice until its done, then I get mad at myself for missing it, other times when its so obvious everyone onsite notices it but me so I get mad at him because he threw me under the bus,, then there's those few times I get mad at someone else on the job because I'm the son and I can HAHA BUT every single time I am always grateful I get to learn from it! Then every once in a while I need to be reminded the amazing opportunity that's been laid at my feet and you just reminded me of that watching this video today. Thanks for making these VIDEOS, I enjoy very one you do but when your dad pops up in the video and I get to see you guys work together, honestly that's when I love your videos brotha! I don't know you personally but think I can say the GREAT thing about you is I think YOU KNOW how blessed and lucky YOU ARE again coming from a son who works with his father for his father in our family ran trucking company, not far from you down in San Diego so I can see it in you, it shows in your pride, your work ethic, even down to the guys that work with you but nothing holds a candle to what is shown when your dad shows up how your demeanor changes, even your voice changes, its kind of funny you get a little more excited when he comes to a call, you can't hide or fake that the relationship you and you pops have is EPIC and its AWESOME! sorry for such a long message but that one line today in this video just helped me out today thanks!

I used to run a grading company in an area where it would snow once or twice a year. As soon as the Atlanta TV stations announced it was snowing in the mountains, multitudes of people from the Atlanta area would come up to see the snow and end up in ditches and the woods. When all the hooks in the county were busy, the stuck people started calling the grading contractors, when all the grading contractors got busy, farm houses with large farm tractors got knocks on their doors. Your equipment looks great. Y'know, when you first feel the truck start to jack-knife you can pull on the trailer brakes and counter steer with the tractor, the tractor will pass back into line after about three counter steering passes. Trust me, I used to run coast to coast in Canada in winter.
