Insane jackknife on the freeway
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
When it rains it pours! This tractor with container jackknifed so hard, the cab literally came off the chassis. I was first on scene in Hulk, my 50ton rotator, and my first step was to pull on the tractor to straighten it out. This allowed me to pull the 5th wheel and separate the tractor from the container.
After a bit of rigging and some Pepe's "finessing", we were able to put the cab and the chassis onto our Landoll. After Caltrans finished cleaning the freeway, my dad backed up our tractor to the container and we were all ready for transport.

With 20+ years of professional driving, & watching numerous recovery channels on KZread, this is one of the most destructive recoveries I've seen! That felller hit HARD to separate the cab from the chassis like he did!

Sir Josh !!! ""HULK "" to the rescue again !!! Great Job by ALL !!! Nice that the ""POLICE"" were on TRAFFIC control !!! Till the ""NEXT 1 "" ,, ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!
This is coming from the son of a fellow father son trucking company who works together... how many more times in our lives will guys like us say get to say what you said @ 26:16 "MY FIRST IDEA WAS TO .... BUT MY DADS IDEA WAS 10 x's BETTER? Personally I hope for a long time because the day I'm not saying that is the day he's no longer around to be giving me those little nuggets on the job site. You know the little ones that sometimes you don't even notice until its done, then I get mad at myself for missing it, other times when its so obvious everyone onsite notices it but me so I get mad at him because he threw me under the bus,, then there's those few times I get mad at someone else on the job because I'm the son and I can HAHA BUT every single time I am always grateful I get to learn from it! Then every once in a while I need to be reminded the amazing opportunity that's been laid at my feet and you just reminded me of that watching this video today. Thanks for making these VIDEOS, I enjoy very one you do but when your dad pops up in the video and I get to see you guys work together, honestly that's when I love your videos brotha! I don't know you personally but think I can say the GREAT thing about you is I think YOU KNOW how blessed and lucky YOU ARE again coming from a son who works with his father for his father in our family ran trucking company, not far from you down in San Diego so I can see it in you, it shows in your pride, your work ethic, even down to the guys that work with you but nothing holds a candle to what is shown when your dad shows up how your demeanor changes, even your voice changes, its kind of funny you get a little more excited when he comes to a call, you can't hide or fake that the relationship you and you pops have is EPIC and its AWESOME! sorry for such a long message but that one line today in this video just helped me out today thanks!
Josh, again thanks for a great video I love to see all you’re different trucks in action fantastic. Nice Pete the Big Boss was driving. Thank you.

Roads are slick as ice when it hasn't rained for awhile. All the oil and other crap bubbles up to the surface when it finally does rain, water and oil don't mix.
I used to run a grading company in an area where it would snow once or twice a year. As soon as the Atlanta TV stations announced it was snowing in the mountains, multitudes of people from the Atlanta area would come up to see the snow and end up in ditches and the woods. When all the hooks in the county were busy, the stuck people started calling the grading contractors, when all the grading contractors got busy, farm houses with large farm tractors got knocks on their doors. Your equipment looks great. Y'know, when you first feel the truck start to jack-knife you can pull on the trailer brakes and counter steer with the tractor, the tractor will pass back into line after about three counter steering passes. Trust me, I used to run coast to coast in Canada in winter.
That would have been a wild ride

Thanks. I had no idea there is so much involved in the salvaging of a Big Rig that was Jack Knifed on the freeway. This must have cost lots of money. More training for Big Rig truck drivers needs to happen . So Big Rig truck drivers can learn how to have their Big Rig from Jack Knifing when they are carrying a empty trailer container .

Nice job again! Enjoyed
Josh I can see that you learned a lot from your dad. Someone asked why your dad didn't just winch the tractor frame onto the Landoll first. It's the positioning of the load and how to get all pieces on. An answer to another question, not only International, but all trucks are built this way today with SMC (Sheet Molded Compound) to save weight .
Between your dad and you it came out great. Nice to see his expertise at work with you on site.
Great Stuff! PEPE!

great video :)
#1 good job guys
rainbow of diesel or oil makes that road surface nice and slippery. wow what a way to remove a cab.
Bravo 👏
It’s always a container even a empty one at that. That raises some questions.
Good video.
I'm so glad he's okay He gets to go home The towing truck driver sounds pretty cool Very common know what he's talking about He didn't act like he didn't want to be there Like some other tow driver's This guy acted real professional
Beautiful rainbow of fuel and earl on the cement..
Great videos I drive a heavy duty in Houston my question how do you guys charge on your wreck recovery’s is it by the hour by the pound or something else just wondering keep up the great videos 👍
Trucks jackknife when the tractor brakes faster than the trailer. Nose turns and then the trailer is in the driver's seat until momentum is expended.
Cool!
Intertaining
That sheen on the road is a hazard. Oil that gets slick as ice once a little water gets mixed.
Would not want to have ridden that one out! That tractor was a hot mess.
Officer thought you was going to move the rig with the guys there 😂😂
It kinda looks like hazmat needs to be on scene there too

wow....never seen anything like that..god was on his side..great job...e_romero transportation😘

Yup, That's a container hauler for you.
I would love to hear your Dad talk about 40 years of the towing service. I suspect he is not fond of the cameras and all your gadgets. He appears to be a man who believes in great employees and the very best equipment he can afford, and I would guess his word is his bond.

I’m surprised at how unstable the containers and trucks towing them are. You seem to to deal with a lot of this kind of accident.
But how did it leave the stack or which way did the cab spin off the chassis like that beside the jack knife
