He makes money doing this. It’s his job to be on top of the new stuff and news. See a change? Report it first and get higher ratings, views etc. The other tactic is to prerecord games/matches to have filler content through out the week too. It’s more work than people realize to be relevant in a saturated market.

Hear me out, Regis's voice is twice as high so he can record videos faster than anyone else and then slow them down for the watch time Play at 2x speed to hear the REAL Regis

I still see cards like Sky Mother Aviana and think "wow, that's sure to win you the fatigue game!" Then I remember that it has been years since control decks that just wait for their opponents to fatigue have been viable.

Fatigue is sometimes relevant in like... Uh, some Priest mirrors if they're both on Savala control stuff where any time you play something the opponent just cannabalizes it or whatever? But that... Does not affect the place of a Druid legendary, as it turns out.

Any card in any game that multiplies a number instead of adding a number is a candidate for entirely busted

I'm imagining a spell power OTK with Eonar. Get your spell damage so high that your sparkling phial allows you to play Eonar for free, then use Eonar to refresh your mana crystals so that you can send 10 mana worth of spells with like +8 spell damage to face. I was excited for Jade Display for a moment, but then I remembered that Druid's deathrattle package is rotating. With only just the two Jade Displays it would be hard to make it a good deck, but without those Castle Nathria cards it'll basically be impossible to make work.

already having two doll houses + 2 mini chia drakes gives you a 6 dmg sparkling phial, this makes owlonius cost 1 mana afterwards, so you'd still have 4 mana to maybe cast another sparkling phial that now does 12 dmg, and then you can play literally anything for free, even the titan to refresh to 10 mana and....

Also I'd imagine the "twice the bonus from spell damage" is for the rare case of some of those old mage cards that drew extra cards for your spell damage gaining bonuses, in something like duels maybe? And ensmallen is made for owlonius and wind up sapling, even one trade + ensmallen makes wind up sapling give you +1 mana or two ensmallens. and both of those cards in combination will be helping you for your otk, wind up sapling will always be in deck when you play ensmallen because of tradable as well.

@@synchronium24What do you mean, 'downside'? It isn't a downside at all. We got a neutral 1 mana 2/2 with no downside like 5 years ago, they weren't going to print a new 1 mana 2/2 with downside in 2023.

My first thought was token druid with Califero and Owlonious

The location is just that 2/2 kobold that’s technically immune and you can have it whenever you need it for free

Jade deficit. 😆Waiting for Jerome Powell to address how we can reduce spell power inflation and therefor resolve the Jade deficit.

I will note that Druid is also getting Swipe back (@ 3 mana too) and with the spell power stuff, it seems like easy board clears for Druid.

I think you might be undervaluing Wind-Up Saplings ability to give you an artificial "28 card deck". Assumably this Spell Damage package is going to be combo related- if you trade Sapling once its a 2 mana refresh 2 that can cycle at any point for additional value. Seems good for combo consistency? Not entirely sure though

Well its not really that crazy of a cycler compared to existing trade tools we have though, especially ones with very rewarding tech options like rustrot viper and the especially popular speaker stomper, which can actively buy time while you assemble a guaranteed wincon, compared to wind-up which is more of a brick at best without or after 1 cycle (free 2-1 doesnt really help with anything) and an innervate after 2 cycles of the *same copy*, very hard to justify investing 2 mana for 1 back for the combo

I really enjoyed spell damage Hunter last year. I wonder if Druid gets some good support for it in the future as well

If control druid is at all a thing the next few years, then Aviana definitely has a place as a fatigue delayer. 10 extra draws and some of them might not suck.

Sparkling phial seems like it's in a very similar spot as glacial advance on release. Will definitely see some play

Anivia is going to be a good card. You can hit a bunch of things you'd be happy for. Not to mention bottomless toy chest can potentially get what you want.

I'm seeing a spell damage token deck with Colifero and Owlonius.

Wow snake oil is going to be amazing

if you get a discount or innervate on owlonius and get 2 of the dollhouses down, you could 2x phial into 2x moonbeam for 42 damage, not too shabby.

Moonbeam was from Sunken City, so I think it rotated out of standard. Don't think the devs would print these spell damage cards with moonbeam still in standard.

2 seconds after seeing owlonius i already am wondering about an otk with that one legendary that draws a minion and turns everything into a copy of it. With all the token generation druid has..and quadruple double , wonder what will happen

Sapling with ensmallen is now 1 cost refresh X mana. That in itself is much better. Maybe ?

You still have to trade it multiple times to refresh a respectable amount of mana, and that takes a while. A 1 cost refresh 2 mana sounds good in theory, but then you've got to consider that it's taking up a card slot (or 2) in your deck that could be used on something else, and it takes drawing it and trading it and drawing it again to get there (so now it's really a 2 cost refresh 2 mana). So even with ensmallen it's actually an X cost refresh X mana, where those X's are equal. Unless you play two ensmallens then it's X-1 cost refresh X mana, which does start to seem better.

I think ensmallen is good for cards that cost 5 or more.

I've said it before, but someone in the dev team really love Druid. Every expansion for close to 10 years they are getting completely busted stuff.

That'll only be viable in Wild though because Unending Swarm was part of March of the Lich King, which means it's rotating. Hedge Maze and Death Blossom Whomper would also be good for a Jade Display deck, but those are rotating too.

Nah, those support cards are conditional on just having Spell Damage, while Owlonius will only increase the amount of damage. I still think it would be neat if Spell Damage was just a Spell bonus that also increased healing numbers, but alas

I would guess Owlonius's "bonus" text is more in reference to spells that scale with spell damage without dealing damage (Such as the card draw from cram session)

What happens to Thalnos when hit with ensmallen? Become a 1 mana 1/1 or immediately die as a 1 mana 0/0?

It doesn't reduce the minion's Health, just their attack. It would just be a 1/0/1 that can't attack without help.

Druid as a whole and Shattered reflections is going to be a problem, is was scary on release and it’s nerf was only slight, with this new set and the mini keyword plus all this spell power support is gonna be unhealthy, shattered reflections even makes new aviana ok imo. I can see a deck being made or maybe using a token shell them using shattered with aviana to get 30 cost 1 legendaries after ripping through their deck

Druid may have lost Moonfire but it gained the 1 mana 2/2 Deathrattle: (Get that 0 mana spell that deals 0 dmg)

No they said titans can't be generated from cards like that. There's still plenty of good legendaries for it.

I think classes are getting more and more alike, losing class identity. I think that the Aviana feels like a Rogue card and I always associate Spell Damage with Mage and Shaman

These Druid cards will def be nerfed quick. The Dollhouse will end up with 2 mana and 2 uses, and the Owl will likely cost 8. Now that you can’t gain armor from pendant, 8 is going to be the target. JMO

Yeah I don't know what they were thinking with this location cost.. the only thing keeping spell damage in check was that you had to play it alongside your damage spells in the same turn. So not only do you take that away, you make it 1 fricking mana? Unreal.

ngl this spell dmg package for Druid looks boring as. Aviana looks cool at least

they’ve always done this dude. they push archetypes for certain classes and see what happens. some get more support than others and that’s just how it’s always been. there’s still deck building aspects if you wanna refine a deck and make some super off meta

It will be good. You would need draw but it should be good. Particularly since you can grab them with toy chest.
